generally, most skills that go through BKB to disable are ults:

necro, vengeful, bane, rexxar, pudge, lich, sniper, wl, tb off the top of my head.

also ranged bash doesnt proc vs BKB. I remember a SF that got MKB because I was tinker LOL

Its more retarded than that. Overgrowth will root you through avatar, but using avatar while rooted will dispel the effect. There are plenty of retarded effects like that.

Does Lich's chain frost really do anything to a BKB'd target besides a .01 second stun?

"Ultimate" status for a spell allows it to be cast on a BKB'd target, but the magic immunity prevents it from taking damage, but is there an exception for Lich that makes it worthwhile to note that his ulti works against BKB?

And I believe there should be some sort of damage type indicator on some spells.

why is/are..
huskar's fire arrows magic while clinkz's fire arrows are physical?

- Clinkz's arrows do damage to towers because of this. Epic backdooring!

hookshot is magical while hook is physical?

- Hook used to be magical, it was nerfed because of how ridiculous Pudge's combo got to be mid-game, but I think it's unnecessary.

dazzle's poison is physical while viper's is magical?

- Physical damage works to synergize with his ult. His healing spell also does physical damage. Pretty meh, but I suppose it brings the hero together more.

wild axes aren't physical?

- They do both physical and magical damage (mixed, like Edict and Suicide).

assassinate magical?

- There's no reason for it to be physical. Just because it uses a bullet doesn't mean it should be physical. I mean SF uses a fireball or whatever, but his damage is physical

all bash magical?

Balance reasons I suppose. I suppose that it could have helped back when Blademail only reflected physical damage. Also, Phase Boots make physical damage pretty meh. I really don't know.

anchor smash is magical?

Balance reasons again. Tidehunter doesn't have a high as.

mines/suicide are mixed?

Balance reasons.

pa's dagger is pure while spectre's dagger is magical?

Balance reasons.

exorcism is physical? (not like it matters lolrape ghosts)

So it can attack towers (not 100% sure this is why), and so it isn't so so so overpowered vs. heroes.

ooh fatal bonds is pure..


I just think most of the shit with damage types and stuff are just for balanced reasons/synergy/buffs/nerfs.

his ulti does no damage to bkb'd targets, but counts them as a target to bounce to (so you can cast it on a pair of heroes, 1 bkb'd 1 not, and it owns the one that isn't bkb'd)

Not telling people how the game works = them getting better at the game? I happen to disagree. Why don't we just not tell players about orb abilities or the spell damages or descriptions at all? That would make them SUPER good at dota according to your logic.

Both of you are misreading it, telling them the exact damage doesn't help them because you aren't telling them why that 300 damage spell does 225 damage. Or why Beastmaster's Axes deal less and less damage as the game drags on, or why Finger and Laguna show an animation when cast on a BKB-ed unit (when other skills say invalid target) or why Pugna can attack decrepified units with a Deso

that's not what you said though. you said telling the basic mechanics behind a skill is useless for people who want to get better. in fact it's the opposite.. just highlighting the spell name like they have in that thread will be very helpful (probably more helpful as i said, than putting 300 (225) in the tooltip) to beginners and even those that have played for a while
