Apparition is no more fragile than most INT heros; I like to take some stats early and get ice vortex only at lvl 8. You don't really have the mana to combo cold feet/ice vortex that early. Cold feet alone is very strong.
Casting cold feet then hex is a guaranteed 7 second disable, which is pretty insane. IMO hex is core on him. Void stone gives you enough mana to switch treads to STR, giving you decent HP for midgame. Once finished, it lets you spam your spells as much as you want, they have relatively low mana cost.
I think he's a decent mekansm carrier also because of his support/aoe style and nice mana pool.
Once you hit level 16 - you should be casting your ulti every cooldown. 150 mana for a global aoe nuke and no regen for 10 seconds? Please.

Never played Dota. Picked up hon and have a lot of fun with it, but thinking about trying dota. Where's a good place to start? Im sure I can find my wc3 cds around somewhere...

Use Garena! You don't need to connect to Battle.net so a legitimate CD-key isn't necessary...

just sort of explore dota in single player for a little while and look at the shops, try laning with a few diff heroes by yourself and just explore the differences between dota and hon. then come pub with me.

i dunno, it was really easy for me because like 50% of the games on uswest are like CALI HOST so generally i had pretty amazing ping on bnet.

Why would you go from hon to dota? Assuming its somewhat the same as on nordic servers, every dota game has AT LEAST one leaver from the get go, which doesnt make for a very fun time.. and it's hard for mates to join the same game. For me at least it was a relief going from dota to hon.

ELO is trash, stat tracking for the most part is trash. The whole auto-balance gives you an illusion. Idiots are idiots, it doesn't matter what ELO or ranking they have.

Get LC or Bot it's easy to get friends in on Bnet. Simply private -> public. Pubs still pubs though

Judicator is a stubborn dumb ass. He would rather bash a much superior system that improves the quality of games by leaps and bounds. Every single thing is improved greatly in HoN. Stat tracking is a very accurate portrayal of ones skills as well. It now gives credit to support players, so if you play the majority of your games as support and your top heros reflect that, people won't think you're bad because they realize you're glacius and you average 1.5-3+ wards placed per game.
Not sure what your issue with ELO is. ELO is fine.

That would be true if people were all intelligent and logical. And I did say for the most part for stat tracking, I know if you know to look for, it's fine, but people don't especially in pubs. Pubs are trashy and having stat tracking and ELO in pubs doesn't help it much.
