If this "game" is truly just going to be a tutorial and walkthrough for everything Nintendo Switch 2 has to offer, then I probably won't get it unless it's free. I honestly think that a basic tour of the hardware should come standard with every Nintendo Switch 2. There will be so many identical video walkthroughs posted on YouTube that I wonder what would actually be unique and worth the $6-7 for basic instructional demos.
On the other hand, if NS2WT includes a variety of mini-games or other interesting gameplay content, then maybe I'll throw a few bucks in and purchase it. I imagine we'll learn more about this item over the next two months, before the Switch 2 releases.
Astro Playroom came free with the PS5 and was an amazing piece of content. Calling it a tech demo sells it short, it was essentially a small game that we got FOR FREE.
Yet another huge L for Nintendo that they make us pay for their tech demo equivalent tbh. They got greedy (more than usual lol), we’ll see how works out for them.

In Japan the Switch2 is $335 USD. It is possible Nintendo factored in a ~25% tariff in offering a price of $450 USD for American consumers. However, as you've noted, the two places Nintendo shifted manufacturing are getting hit super hard with tariffs over 45%.
Nintendo could always start making their systems in the USA or Mexico. Japan's Toyota has a very long reliable track record of making cars in Canada. Also, the countries hit with 45%+ tariffs can "play ball" with the US government and get the tariffs lowered.
it'll be interesting to see what happens to the price of the Steamdeck which is manufactured in China.

I wonder if the people doing the calculations and risk management at Valve/AMD and Nintendo/Nvidia for such tariff scenarios will see it that way too when such immense wrenches are thrown into their works ^_^
Not surprised by the price tags.. but rather taken aghast by Nintendo kicking everybody in the balls with no "free" upgrades from using SW1 games on SW2 and Pay2Play demos.
Modders offer texture packs for 30 years now.... for free. How greedy can you get, making the customer pay extra for downloading some textures and selecting 1080p?
Weirdly, cyberpunk 2077 will have the full game on the physical card. So some games will have it all on the media card and some as a downloadable codes.
With how slim the switch 2 is, being able to run cyberpunk 2077 at 40fps performance mode isn't bad at all. My rog ally is around the same performance level.
24+ Switch 2 games have already been announced for day 1 release / launch day, plus basically the entire Switch 1 library. Keep in mind that the Switch 1 library will generally perform better on the Switch 2 (not just equally good), and a few Switch 1 games have additional free upgrades (and a few have additional paid upgrades) to make the performance even better than the default "better" on the Switch 2, if desired.
I bet we learn about even more launch titles over the next two months too!
Seems the sales start is getting delayed due to the tariffs. I think you are likely to see an increase in $ pricing compared to the announcement. Or perhaps they keep prices low at launch since they already have units in the US and raise it once they run out?
Wow just saw that the EU price is even higher than the US one? 469.99€?
What? And 80 euro games? I hope that is the reference for germany or something, because that is a very significant price hike for both system and games (at least for the current prices here).
It might put a significant dent on first day purchases around here.

The Nintendo Switch won't die! ! !
As I understand it the launch date isn't changed. They just don't dare to promise to deliver at a specific price in tariff wars.
Yes launch date is the same, pre orders halted in hope that the US falls back and tarifs go away, or to have close to actual price as possible on launch as you mentioned due to uncertainty.

This is my understanding of the situation as well. I believe that the official release of the Nintendo Switch 2 is still June 5th, but that the pre-order date for the United States has been pushed back from April 9th to some other date (which hasn't been decided yet). It is also explicitly Donald Trump's fault.
Nintendo Switch 2 preorders in U.S. delayed because of Trump's tariffs The fallout from the president's far-reaching tariffs trickles all the way down to video games.
Nintendo will not take preorders for its new game console next week, the company said Friday, as it evaluates the impact of President Donald Trump's new, far-reaching tariffs.
The Japanese electronics giant had been set to accept Switch 2 advance orders in the United States on Wednesday, but that's now been pulled off the table — though Nintendo insisted that its June 5 launch date "is unchanged."
"Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions," according to a company statement. "Nintendo will update timing at a later date."
Nintendo Delays Preorders for the Switch 2, Citing Tariffs The new video game console will still be released in June, the Japanese company said. The Japanese video game company Nintendo said on Friday that it would delay preorders for its new console, the Switch 2, in the United States because of the tariffs imposed by President Trump.

it is a video game console dawg. If Trump has you riled up about this ... I don't know what to say. Play some Atari 7800+ man.. its awesome. Foosball is good too!
After having slept on this a couple of nights.. I think Trump is just fucking around with tariffs to get concessions from other countries. He is not going to permanently tariff at any where near the rates he announced for every country on planet earth ... forever. He is creating a position for negotiations.
Trump will get some concessions from Japan that will benefit all the American people. The Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive on June 5th at a price very close to the Canadian price adjusted for currency differences.
I 100% favour Trump getting general concessions for all Americans.
Video games don't matter. If the Switch2 is banned from the USA I don't care. If the Switch2 is $1400 due to 200% tariffs in a thermonuclear level Japan//USA trade war I don't care either. It's whatever man.

ya, Trump is just fucking with people. Japan will make some concessions. Some real concessions.. some BS concessions that are overblown and exaggerated so Trump can scream "Victory".

What are you talking about? I simply corroborated the change in pre-order date and explained why it was happening. Trump's tariffs are the exact reason that Nintendo gave, and I cited two news sources justifying this.
If you want to spread your wild conspiracy theories about Trump playing or not playing 5-D chess with the rest of the world as he tanks our economy and destroys our country, please keep that nonsense in the US Pol thread.

It is fun to talk about... and make projections .. and see if your projections come true or not.
What is your projection for June 5?
My projection is that the Switch2 is delivered to the USA on June 5 at a price close to the Canadian price adjusted for currency differences. We'll be laughing at all the gnashing of teeth going on right now.

I don't have any projections or predictions about that at this time. I have no idea if the price will change, and as of right now I'm happy to accept Nintendo's current statement that the Switch 2 will still be released on June 5th in the United States. I hope the price doesn't change, and I hope the release date doesn't change.
