She genuinely wanted to know why a day 1 purchase would be necessary when the system I own is working so well. I was a little short on reasons. Anyone have a good response? Different people will be convinced by different arguments, but new games and better gameplay performance are probably the most universal persuasions. We'll have to see what Day 1 games are going to be available; I'm sure we'll learn more on April 2nd! (I also want a second device for a different floor/TV in my house, so I'll keep my Switch 1 for one location, and I'll set up my Switch 2 for the more common location.)

Well my reasoning was/is same game library will be there and some more, plus no more issues with the kids if we are looking to play different things at the same time!

That's a great point, and especially useful on road trips or any other common handheld use. I'm one of three brothers, and we each had our own Game Boys growing up.

It feels lazy lol. Especially when I can just go to my PC, which no one can touch, and play SC1,2, Heroes at any time. My best reason is, I’m eventually going to get one anyway, so why wait years to make that happen when it’ll probably cost about the same even with sales and deals.

I think the inevitable + more switches for the kids.... In addition, it might be useful for other mutliplayer games? Personally for me, a day 1 purchase is for like, the big franchises I am really passionate about. Like 3D mario and Metroid Prime. (assuming those are launch titles)

It's maddening how expensive the Switch 1 and its games still are tbh. But a good argument to not get it, is there are a lot of cheap and amaznig PC games. Play the fan made BW campaigns if you haven't already, it's really good.

More information on some big titles, like Dragon Quest 1&2 HD, Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A (ranking up from Z to A, day = exploration vs. night = trainer battles). A bunch of additional interesting/indie/retro titles that seem cool, such as SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered. A pretty awesome improvement for those of us who buy digital games: Currently, physical game cartridges are king when it comes to playing a game on different Switch devices, whereas digital games are generally locked onto one device or harder to switch over... but Nintendo is developing a "digital game cartridge", where you can select digital games and more easily transfer those onto a new device, like ejecting a physical cartridge from one device and inserting it into another... except for virtual/digital games. I'm sure we'll hear more about this in the future. And also an announcement for a Nintendo Today phone app for daily news.

One of the handful of megaten games I've never played so this is really good news to me. That's good to hear! If it's anything like SMTV, I'll definitely be looking into it.
