Well I hope people had a chance to get it while it was still available...
As usual Nintendo (with legit rights) DMCA'd it. Honestly, I don't blame them but I'm more pissed on the fact they have neglected the series so bad, that they've failed to come up with a decent game on this series (mainly the 2D versions) for so long. Finally something relatively fresh as remake comes out for this series, then bam!
Having never played the original Metroid II, did they basically copy the exact game progression and map layout from the original? Feels like there's about 3x too many Metroid fights, and there are definitely places in the game that feels like either a) it's lacking the refinement of Nintendo's map design, or b) it came before Nintendo refined their Metroidvania mapping.
Yea bro, I been playing it on HARD and its arguably better than Super Metroid. I really hope it gets allowed into AGDQ at some point. I havent checked if there are any runners for the game anywhere, but I have seen some pretty cool shit on YT, and some really great players.
I also acquired GBA and when Im done with AM2R Im gonna check out Fusion and Zero Mission.
I have a feeling that Nintendo may ease up once NA talks to Japan and they realize it's a labor of love and tribute. The only foreseeable problem is if Nintendo was planning to do reboots themselves, or like in the case of DOTA they hire the guys to redo their game for an actual nintendo release.
since metroid fusion was my favorite metroid you can imagine how thrilled i am that they used its engine!!! this game is soooooo good, it puts nintendo to shame in a BIG way..... i love 2d metroidvanias <3
Just finished this game yesterday in about 7 hours on normal with 88% collection rate. Really fun game
What a fuckin travesty Nintendo completely shut down further development and distribution of this game. If Zelda BotW wasn't being released by them next year, I would have put my foot down on buying any of their shit going forward
