So how do people control Clash/phone games in general.

Two thumbs feels most natural to me but with smallish HTC One S screen and manthumbs it's a bit clumsy.

Placing phone on some surface and using both index fingers seems more effective but it looks and feels dumb and I don't always have a surface available.

Then there's the 3rd chose of holding phone with one hand and controlling with 1 index finger but that seems ineffective.

As you can guess I've not done much phone gaming since the original NOKIA Snake.

I usually only check stuff / donate on my phone. When I want to attack, I'll change to iPad mini and use 2 thumbs (sometimes boost rax and put on twitch stream / series / movie in the background).

I rotate my phone landscape. Hold with left hand. Do everything with right hand, mostly index + middle. When deploying barcher I double touch+hold+drag and depending on max zoom and base layout, use fingers 2+3 or 2+4 whichever I feel more comfortable. I am old man gaming. Also I consider myself pretty dexterous as I am also a pianist.

depends in what sense (though that might be a dumb thing to say)

loot at th10 sucks pretty bad, so at a minimum get all your defenses and troops maxxed out. maybe you dont need all lvl 10 walls and you might want to stop at a certain point for heroes, but basically otherwise yes.

I've got about 30 walls to lvl 10 and heroes are 13 and 10, I'm gonna stay th9 till I max one of them first

I think that's way over the top. I've been in TH10 since level 100, there has been no problem farming. My walls weren't even level 8 at that time (mind you, there was no walls from elixir at that time). I went up as soon as I couldn't spend my elixir.

People forget that the loot penalty for a TH10 vs a TH9 is 10%. And that you get that extra dark elixir drill, which makes heroes level faster. And 2 inferno towers, which ensure people don't raid your base when you're farming.

As it is now, you can dump your elixir, so I'd go up as soon as your building upgrades are done. I wouldn't spend my gold on walls (post level 8).

I definitely agree that it a little over the top and that extra drill will really help with the heroes, I just really like the idea of a th10 with lvl 10 walls and 2 inferno towers. I think that is a really really tough cookie to crack in the wars

Aveng3r, I'm in the same boat as you.

My queen is 11, King is 10.

Have ~50 level 10 walls.

THIS IS SOOOOO BORING.
But I have several clanmates in TH10 right now that have mixed opinions - some seem to fill their storages over time quite nicely, and some say the loot is bad.

Idk what to do. But heroes are still too low, thats for sure.

Hehe, I don't even have 30 level 10 walls. I even have some level 8 walls to upgrade as well. So you guys are way ahead of me. But those don't matter that much in a war, people will break or jump them anyway. My heroes are 29 and 26 though. Good luck with that 200 * 3 million

I'm currently raiding in 2300-2400. But I'm by no means an expert on that. The best may be slightly lower, about crystal 3. I think i'm noticing that the higher you go, way fewer people forget to empty their collectors. Which is what I'm living off. Lower than 2000 and you start to see more TH8's which you (if TH10) don't want. When I don't pay attention to trophies and I just raid for loot (making that 1 star purely for the loot bonus when possible) I tend to go up in trophies slowly.
