Arena boosting (which he did technically do) is illegal and would fall under the malicious part of that automated message.
He probably would have gotten away with it if not for the fact that by playing arena to test the class he boosted them.

speaking of the automatic stuff, the amount of fucking kickbots is annoying as fuck.

Never heared of this guy, but I'm always glad if the Cheaters and Abusers are GONE! I hope this Idiot spend all his stupid YouTube Money on Ingame-Store Items he now can't access anymore. OWNED!

He did not do anything malicious whatsoever. He doesn't cheat or abuse anything. The reason he account shared is to play other characters in arena and experiment with them without leveling them from 1-100. He did not do it with the intention to boost or whatever, it just so happens that he's one of the best players in the game and thus their rating increases when he plays with them.
I understand the ban, at the same time it sucks because Reckful is a genuinely nice and hilarious guy. He's pretty famous too, going to Blizzcon for WoW and Hearthstone. Blizzard even named one of the Ashran NPCs after him, and his name is in the tooltip for the Autographed Hearthstone Card toy ingame.

He's pretty filthy rich from streaming, I believe he has a six-figure income each year. I very much doubt he was able to spend all that on items ingame.

The simple fact is that he did something that would get a normal person banned if Blizz had rock solid evidence of it. He did it in front of a shitload of people, so what message does it send if HE doesn't get banned for it?

If you've been in the high end of WoW for such a long time, you'd know even well known people get banned. If you're filthy rich (well most likely not, but with a few $ to spend) buying the character boosts seem like a small investment in your actual profession.

Doesn't matter that he just happens to be good and boost their rating. He boosted their rating. If he had stuck to wargames I'm 90% sure he would not have been banned for example
Being famous doesn't make you immune to the rules. Esp when blizzard has been getting more and more active in punishing arena boosters, a fair few of who are well known community figures.
If he wants to try out other classes he can spend the day to boost and gear them. As others have mentioned the money some Saudi kid or whatever gave him should easily cover it.
|
First question I had was if he made 6 figures why wouldn't you just boost some characters and try them out that way. I can understand its time consuming for you but if this is your primary source of income then you should do it that way.
If you don't want to take the time to do it you know what Blizzard does to this type of activity and are playing the chance game of getting banned or not.
If I want to play another class in PvE I level it up. Very rarely when I was in vanilla when one of our tanks could not make a raid I would raid on their character for the guild so we could actually go, but that was few and far between. I understand back then Blizzard was quite a bit less proactive in this type of stuff.

I'm agreeing with you all that Blizzard's hand was forced and they had to ban him as he was blatantly breaking ToS by account sharing. I'm just defending him against people who accused him of abuse/cheating/whatever.
As for boosting to 90 and leveling from 100 - yeah that's what I would've done. Apparently he doesn't even want to level 90-100. :D

Those look like the standard raid frames to me.
Regarding account sharing, how strict is Blizzard with it and how do they enforce it? My gf has been playing using my pc in the last couple of weeks because her laptop's power supply is broken, i hope that doesn't count as account sharing...

So long as your not playing on her account and doing arena for her in front of a few thousand people your pretty safe.

I cant check now but yes they might be the default blizzard ones, Tho my brain is saying CT-raid from 8 years ago for some reason.

They aren't strict at all with account sharing etc. It's just when you do it blatantly in front of tens of thousands of people for several weeks/months that they start to take notice.

I thought it would be easier to bank 10,000 garrison resources, now I understand more of the dilemma.
