I'd agree, but the UI in division isn't all that bad. I hated skyrims guts for the original UI though.
So far, the only real gripe i have is the out-of-hand-cheating. It's not like "you meet a blatant cheater once a week" or so like in DayZ, i couldn't do a single DZ yesterday. The 8-8 zone always had at least a couple of invisible groups.
I cancelled my pre-order, i'm gonna wait a couple of weeks to see if they got the cheating under control. Because that's a dealbreaker for me, not gonna fall for the same shit as i did with R6.

I played 2 days and I actually love the UI or how the game is controlled(PC version, keyboard + mouse). Not a single problem with it, I find it pretty good.
I haven't met any cheater but then again, I didn't make the 8th. I am missing around 1k exp points and I don't know where to get them, since I don't like running in the city finding secrets
Also, I played the game on High settings and it looks gorgeous! It is downgraded from the videos, but it is still cool. Snowstorm or fog looks really fantastic and you cannot tell what's few meters before you. Fog in Dark Zone raised my heartbeat to very high levels(I was soloing the DZ which is pretty much adrenaline activity by itself).

1-7 was fine for me too, mostly because i went there rather early i suppose.
I did the story mission a couple of times on hard difficulty, boss at the end drops blue most of the time so i was farming there.
One thing that irritates me though: the game, for some reason, has 100% utilization of all cpu cores. All the time, doesn't matter where you look. I'm running 4x4.6gh, while it looks good, it shouldn't go that high to the point where i'm starting to get thermal issues.

I just found out that the mission can be done on Hard via some random YT video. I'll do that then Somehow missed the difficulty changing thing(looked grayed to me(disabled for beta))
I haven't had any problem with temperature, but I'll check what it's taking, running it on i5-3570 (3,4 GHz), 16 GB DDR3(1333) and GTX970(some Gainward OC silent model)

Yeah, would be good to see. GPU temps are fine (980ti), but CPU, as i said, i5 2500k 4.6ghz oc with watercooling goes up to 68 degrees celsius, and has a constant 100% utilization. Never drops (checked via CPUID HWMonitor). Everything cranked up, graphically.
And yeah, the hard mission wasn't easy to spot, my girlfriend pointed it out to me. Isn't the beta supposed to end today though?

Over the last few days, we’ve seen an incredible amount of excitement for the game, leading to many of you registering on the waitlist for a chance to join our Closed Beta. We’ve been working very hard to let as many players as possible join, while still maintaining a smooth experience for everyone. Earlier today, we announced that we were now inviting as many players as possible from the waitlist, in addition to those who had guaranteed pre-order access. We’ve started sending invites, with priority given to those who signed up first. In order to allow everyone who has access to fully enjoy the Beta, we’re happy to announce we’re extending the duration by 24h for all players. As a result servers will remain open until Tuesday, February 2nd, 12pm CET | 6 am EST | 3 am PST. Thank you all for your amazing support! http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1381747-Beta-Extension

Ah well, missed that. Doesn't really matter to me though, DZ is unplayable and after running the mission for like 30 times or something, i kinda am bored of that too. :D
Have to play through Xcom anyway, Xcom2 this week weeee!

Have to play through Xcom anyway, Xcom2 this week weeee! Well, I try the mission on hard and that§s end the game for me. I have now Tomb Raider(the new one) and waiting for XCOM 2. In the mean time some guild runs in SW:TOR(the last expansion caught me unprepared and I actually like it)

Promotional material does not constitute a promise; on the contrary, as any marketing trick it is often a lie. Besides, aren't people supposed to play games for the gameplay of it all? Graphics are fun, but I know very few people who keep playing a bad game just because the graphics are really good.
Look at Crysis 3. Best video game graphics since Crysis 1 but very subpar gameplay. The game was in bargain bins barely two months after launch. It's more annoying that there is all this potential to have a graphically amazing game and fun gameplay, but they will gimp the graphics a lot due to gameplay. You obviously wouldn't understand it,but for people who invest in a good computer it can be disappointing when they can easily have the better graphics on PC but lower it due to fear of console people being butthurt about it. [...] I'm not trying to wind up console users, but everyone knows how much better PCs are, so really what's the point of it in the first place? You could turn that argument on its head: everyone knows developers have to maximize efficiency and still target the biggest user base they can, making the same game for PC and consoles, so really what's the point of buying a 2k$ rig in the first place? Not that I'm not as disappointed as you guys, mind you, but still, it seems understandable to me that they always end up doing that. And even for games that are prettier on PC, by devs that seemingly put some effort into graphics quality scaling with hardware (like The Witcher?), oftentimes the extra work amounts to adding fancy Nvidia effects and some extra lighting or shadows here and there. I'm really interested about The Division. But I'll wait for beta reviews or even release before jumping the gun. For now it seems like there is not quite enough variety in environments and things to do for me to pay full price. Also, it seems like coop is a big aspect, and my friends aren't really into games like that so I would end up having to look for Division pals or play alone :D. Or perhaps other developers could do what CDPR does and release separate versions for the console and PC? Console version with downgraded graphics and console-friendly UI (ensuring good performance and ease-of-use) while PC version with full graphics and PC-friendly UI. The thing I hate the most in all multi-platform games is not actually the graphics but console UI on a PC. It's atrocious. Yeah it is . I guess they don't think it's worth the extra work. I thankfully did not pre-order the Division. From my own experience on video games sharing code with consoles (NBA 2K16), the devs do not go to extra length to get rid of hackers on PC, so they stay there and multiply till the game is competitively dead. I hope for you Division PC owners that they will do something, but it's not looking too good, apparently.

If anything, i might get it for PS4.
I just know already that i'm gonna hate it, as i hated every single shooter i've ever played on console. Including Destiny and Halo. I just can NOT get around shooting with a pad.

Didn't apply, watched a fair amount on stream, wasn't impressed. It seems like Mass Effect + Borderlands to me. What I hear about the Darklands systems seems interesting but the gameplay looked atrocious. Time to kill is entirely too high for the style of shooter that it is. Not gonna bother with it.
|
While I get that they go for a RPG style of time to kill, they also seem to strive for weapon realism. All guns are supposed to feel real, have the right recoil/bullet spray/visuals/sound and shit. They probably don't feel that real when you have to shoot a NPC 10 times in the head to kill it :D.

I personally just only played DZ and got the gold gear there. Was fun enough, but I'm not sure just how long it can occupy me.

You can oneshot people.
That's as little time to kill as it gets. A shooter where "gear" is the measurement of how fast you kill someone doesn't really allow for arguments like "too fast" or "too slow".
It depends on how you gear. Go full damage, and watch people drop faster than two rounds in the head. Same goes for you in that case. edit: apart from yellow pve enemies, which take 3-4 shots with a 6k dps m44 (players have between 2000hp on blergh-gear and 5000hp on amazing gear).

Honestly, on all the streams I was watching, it was at least 3 headshots for a kill on a player of the same level with a marksman rifle, and more for NPCs of a similar level. The fact that it IS an RPG that really doesn't look like an RPG hurts it a lot IMO. The gameplay feels more like Mass Effect with more fluid movement and no abilities* than it does any other Tom Clancy shooter. Add stuff like random critical strikes and it becomes bullshit.
*There are abilities, but nothing like Warp/Singularity combo or Impact Shot.

I wish they added more hidden places or the ability to climb on higher roofs and a more exploration-oriented play-style. My favorite aspect of rpg games was the exploration and discovery of new territories. From what I've seen in the beta, it was lacking places to visit.

Downloading the open beta right now! (edit: access is on feb 19th afaik)
I`m kinda unsure if i will go full PAD MODE or do it like real men, with mouse and keyboard. The beta will tell

So far I enjoy the gameplay, it flows quite nicely, but I doubt that would make me buy it full price :D. There doesn't seem to be much depth to it.

Indeed. We came to the same conclusion. PADtastict, but overall very generic from what i saw. It definitely has potential!
