You can't put just one man on Lebron with 2 seconds left, you know who the ball is going to.
You can't let anyone just drive to the rim uncontested in that situation, make him make the free throws.

I'd love to see that but I don't think we will. Heat are already a better team and this sort of loss could be massively demoralizing. Really interested to see how they respond in G2. If they come out and get stomped (which the Pacers are very prone to doing on the road) then this could be over in 5. I dont think pacers will give up that easily

EDIT: Hibbert out?!?! Yeah, I agree. He's basically there to occupy Hibbert or West, so other players get opportunities. That's basically the best he can do, he's not going to outrebound those two. I think, just to emphasize your point, Jibba, that those two Lebron drives are exactly how we should measure Chris Bosh's worth. He punishes Vogel for playing Hibbert by pulling the guy way out or by giving Bosh his shot. If you didn't have a Power Forward like Bosh out there, the match up is very different. I agree that Vogel had no choice but to not play Hibbert if he's playing the numbers. He can't bring Hibbert out on Bosh and ofc he isn't expecting George to play HORRIBLE defense and give up an uncontested layup to win the game. I think it is completely fair that he decided to not give up the easy open jump shot Bosh would get and instead try and force a contested jump shot from Lebron.

I'd much rather give him that shot than to take out your best shot blocker or not have rim protection.

I feel like Vogel must have told his guys to stay in front of the ball handler and not allow anything towards the basket (esp without hibbert in). George just.... meh.

Bosh has become a pretty good 3pt shooter, even if he wasn't great this game. Ok, pretty good is an exaggeration but he's 7-15 this playoffs.

There was one or two games where he was just hot though, I still wouldn't say he's that great of a 3pt shooter. He's certainly not a greater threat than Wade or James at the rim.

I don't care that George overplayed the left side. That happens all the time - guys will make mistakes. Obviously, you should try to correct that. But you have Roy Hibbert to defend the drive. We agree, basically, but I blame Vogel more than George.

I'm saying you keep Hibbert in. Let Bosh stretch the floor, let him punish you for playing YOUR GAME. Fine. To some extent, the decision represents a trust in Paul George, there's not a lot of guys you strand on an island against the best player of the generation without a hope of help. Not to ruin my own point but everyone's talking about Bosh taking threes? He can do enough by pulling Hibbert out 13 feet-20 feet. He's deadly from there if you're defending him with Roy Hibbert.
