So now that there was another session, what is going to happen to the daily uploads? Is it still going to be one per day or is that speeding up or what? I would like the option to be completely up to date by the time of the latest episode so I have the choice of watching it caught up or watching it periodically throughout the week. Any information would be great.

Stats from this most recent pay session!

They are playing heavily modified 2nd edition D&D and are using the site roll20.net as a resource for maps and rolls

It makes the character better, I wish all of you would show a little more emotion. Bregor explaining why he hates Giants was so blah.

Neal STILL seems to be under the false impression that 1 round (as is used for the cleric spell Command) is equal to 1 minute, when in actual fact, unless he's completely oddly changed the time system in D&D as well, it should last just 6 seconds. 10 rounds = 1 minute.
~_~

Yeah, Ryan doesn't really demonstrate his character's charisma so well and Geoff, it's role playing, so most likely you would be at least that expressive or communicative if you're not an extremely shy person.
I love that JP puts plenty of thought into some/plenty/most of his actions.
Even when he broke the crystal ball/orb, that was really a case of him playing off the wizard's wording.
The wizard seems to be the most unwise one in existence, because, when asked
"What would happen if I drop it?"
he basically answered
"It might break, it might not. Whether it breaks or not depends on the make of the orb, whether it was designed to or not."
so JP could even have thought "Well a WIZARD didn't even mention any hazard so why not?" :Þ

Only after it was dropped did the wizard freak out or even consider the possibility of it breaking (hey, at least hindsight is 20-20).
It was odd that the wizard didn't at least think of either the hazard in advance or letting them know that it is at least likely to be "valuable enough" to sell, playing it down in case he could con them into letting him purchase it cheaply from them.

EDIT: Ha, watching archives of the week four. "Halabreads" (Halberds) makes it feel like we're back watching DAy[9] and Kevin.

EDIT: Corrected spelling of Neal from XBreadFlaneil.

Dude as long as you work it into vincents character (a sort of gemli/ legolas rivalry kind of thing) then it's fine. if you were playing like a patient old man character and acting the same way, thats when the problem starts. you are doing great.

1) Players Hand Book, Page 157: "Rounds and turns are units o time that are often used in the AD&D game, particularly for spells and combat. A round is approximately equal to a minute (it is not exactly one minute, so as to grant the DM some flexibility during combat). A turn is equal to 10 minutes of game time."

The Players Option: Combat & Tactics offers an alternative method where rounds are 6 seconds, but that means spells last 1/10th the time too, which makes them less useful outside of combat.

2) The thought of somebody trying to break a priceless magical item, much less right then and there, would have been ridiculous. Who in their right mind would get something appraised, be told it's highly valuable, and then try to break it? It'd be the equivalent of you buying some jewelry, asking the jewelry if it'd break if dropped out of a sky scraper (where he says, "I don't know") and then going and dropping the jewelry from a sky scraper. It goes without saying that a magical item is "valuable enough to sell" - again, something that doesn't need to be pointed out.

3) Neal. With an A.

4) I didn't mention anything before, but I've changed the name of a Helberd to Halabread in this world. Just for flavor. Minor inconsistencies create a more interesting environment. I also changed the name of Phalanx to "Flanix".

I'm glad you get into the mood and am also glad that you are introspective enough to look back and see where you might have made mistakes. You are by far my favorite person in the ESports industry. Thanks for being awesome.

Really fun series first off. It kinda shows that they are beginners though. There are a lot of things that they just don't think about or try out. Even when Neal makes it pretty obvious for them they just do something completely random. Makes it fun and unpredictable but on the other hand there are no epic plotlines happening because they ignore a lot.

Yeah, like this last episode when they finish fending off the ogres, hear about some ogre outpost
nearby, and decide... to move to the next town? Not an 'unrealistic' decision given their party makeup, but
it would sure be nice for the DM if the players pay some respect to his carefully laid plans..

Finally Neal was going to have a townsperson almost come up and remind them of it, but changed his mind
(either that or he intended this reminder about the ogres to be teased out by someone like Vincent).

It felt so wrong to me that JP said nothing when they were killing the female Ogres in the first cave. =X
I guess there's some back story to why JP's character didn't how any mercy at all. Well, I hope there is.

On an other subject, I feel like warning the party about the Hill Giant leader wasn't so good. Would have loved to have a dramatic and tense situation with the leader being a surprise.

Why can TL'ers not be Elitist about anything....

seriously. We have people calling out every single "mistake" as they see it. Or trying to correct Neal, seriously? lol. I understand the eliticism of TL.net on SC2/SCBW related stuff, but really people are critisizing the way they play DnD now? LOL.

Pretty sure I have read multiple times, even from a guy who freaking writes the DnD books... the rules exist to push the game along. The game does not exist to adhere as strictly as possible to the rules. People, the game is about having fun. Why are we harping on HOW they have fun?

sry last rant about the annoyance of all the elitist top tier DnD players here on TL.

Love the show tho, thanks Jp, Geoff, Neal, Ryan, Gen. Only thing getting through my mornings at work.

Yes, I was keeping that in mind, but it seemed a pretty drastic change (1 minute from 6 seconds).

Rightio, I certainly forgot it being that way in 2nd edition. I play third edition, where what I stated is true in all situations, unless in open field and trying to travel a long distance, where they MIGHT use the terms differently, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case there either and I'm just thinking of tables where it states expected distances you will travel when travelling long distance (where say the equivalent of 'run' for a very long distance is actually less than (run speed × time) because you would get tired sooner than then and so on and so forth.

2) The thought of somebody trying to break a priceless magical item, much less right then and there, would have been ridiculous. Who in their right mind would get something appraised, be told it's highly valuable, and then try to break it? It goes without saying that a magical item is "valuable enough to sell" - again, something that doesn't need to be pointed out.

Well he specifically asked what would happen if it dropped and it's made of glass and yet the wizard didn't think to mention that. It seems like standard science that a wizard and even 95+% of common folk would know, so unless he made some low wisdom (or I suppose Willpower in your system?) check to see if he would think of it or not, I don't think he would fail to think of it.

Jewellery isn't expected to explode, nor break from dropping normally, really, but the first point is the one that matters. :Þ
You say "priceless" but the wizard didn't know the value and they certainly didn't either, right?

Your average crystal ball is valuable enough and wizards smart enough (and sometimes arrogant and/or presumptuous) so that if someone asked, I'd have thought he'd think it worthwhile to ensure some rookie adventurers don't take any risks damaging his shop, merchandise or his own life and would want to avoid having to clean up even glass.
When someone asks what will happen if they DROP it, wouldn't your first thought be
=/ "Why do you want to drop it?" or "Why do you ask that?", seeing as you would, as you say, think it would be of some value.

If, like some solid jewellery, it didn't seem like something that would break, sure, you might not think it's going to be a trapped magical necklace/amulet/other that will explode when dropped to the floor, but glass is obviously fragile, so it would be natural to find the question ("What will happen if I drop it?") an odd one.

3) Neal. With an A.

Ah ah ah, very sorry. I even have a VOD open and didn't check it. Very uncharacteristic mistake, my apologies.
If you look back, you'll see I have corrected it now. :D

I just watched the episode where you try to save JP from being sentenced to death. It was really a great piece of roleplaying (eventhough some of it was heavily inspired by game of thrones :p).
