Every 255 steps the game does an RNG check. The threshold for comparison depends on the message the day care guy says. If the Pokemon don't get along, then it's a 20% chance for an egg. If they're okay then it's 50% chance. If they get along well it's 70%.

This has a useful explanation of all things breeding. It's quite handy as a resource.

Oh and I added in my Friend Code into the OP if anyone wants it. I think my safari is Ground according to Yango?

So I have a question. I have 2 5IV Rotoms. One who's non perfect IV is Speed. The other who's non perfect IV is SpA. Do I keep breeding to get 5 IVs where attack is not the perfect IV or do you think the one with non perfect IV speed is usable?

Keep breeding imo, having said that, are you planning on using Hidden Power? Because I know Rotoms have a tendency to do so (not much of a movepool). Maybe try and find the right Hidden Power if you are.

No hidden power usage on my Rotom. I went ahead and hatched 5 more plus I have an egg in waiting. I'll prob see what these come out to and keep hoping for the 5 IV that includes speed and doesn't include attk.

EDIT: Gah stupid RNG. Another Rotom w/ speed as the non perfect IV. Got another Rotom 4IV with Defense and attack as the non perfect IVs.

EDIT2: Aaaannndd another 5IV w/ speed as the non perfect IV. What. the. fuck.

EDIT3: Figured out my mistake. Was using a 3IV Rotom. Should have swapped to the 5IV one a while ago.
