Well, to submit your score, you'll need a replay. You can submit for the other games once they unlock though. Maybe try re-downloading EoSD and seeing if that works?

There's no order on your spreadsheet though, should be ranked from highest to lowest, meaning you would probably have to redo the format that it looks like you have atm I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. I ranked it from lowest to highest (ie. Touhou 6 first, Touhou 13 last). I did it this way based on the order of the series (usually you start with the beginning and go up), and also because I believe 6 is a little easier than the other games and would be good to start with. Are you saying you want it to be ranked Touhou 13 first and then Touhou 6 last, or did I misunderstand? I mean the players' scores Epishade, Imbajoe, Vestrel, and Triflux's scores aren't in the order of highest points. It should be sortable, no? Maybe you should have a separate sheet for each game so you can sort more easily. 1st 2nd 3rd etc... you have that currently but this way it would make it easier to see 4th and on.
Ah I see what you mean now. It probably should be sorted in order of highest score to lowest, instead of it being whoever joins up first being listed first like it is now. Granted, I'm not a master in excel/google spreadsheet so I'm exactly sure how to do automatic sorting based on scores while still keeping the replays and names in order. I'll look into it though.

I guess I'll wait for the other games then.

Oh man, my brother is obsessed with these games, utterly obsessed. Do they have English versions/

If you find the right one, it sometimes usually has the english patches already installed. At least, that's how I did mine.
|
Interesting... I've never had that happen for me. Well, in any case, the resources for the English patches are here now, if anyone needs access to them.

I can't even beat imperishable night iirc.... (I get up to the 4th stage where you fight either reimu/marisa... and die) lol
and iirc people say imperishable night is the easiest of the touhou games
Derp (Ten desires I get around 2-3 stages in and need to spam continues until I die too... 12.8... Lawl)

for those who are new, there is a patch separate from the English translation patch called the Vsync patch. It bascially reduces the input lag in the earlier Windows games. I'll try to find a link when I get home

Great idea, hurray! The touhou community is like in slo-mo right now because there's not much to discuss or play together.

Here's a link to the Vsync patch downloads http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Game_Tools_and_Modifications#Vsync_Patches
I looked at the readme included and it contains good instructions to get everything running.

It's been way too long... so many unused bombs

Wonder if this will finally be my motivation to 1cc UFO lunatic when that unlocks. It's still the one thing I haven't done.
Also was disappointed by the lack of bonus points after stage 5 - thought I was going to be able to take the lead but ended up a little short
Edit: Also wtf at the world record for EOSD easy. Certainly there was going to be room for improvement, but I'd never have thought it was possible to score almost 2x what I did. MATSU OP

That's a cool idea ! Gonna pick those game again to see if i can beat my previous runs.
IIRC EOSD is not the easiest one... if you play the game without a Hitbox patch, it can be quite brutal at times. Still have bad memories of Sakuya trying to knife me from all directions

Great idea! I'll be trying some runs, just the motivation I need to try a little harder.

Ok, took me a while but I updated the leaderboards now. Takes me about 4 minutes for each replay haha. I've also been thinking about making a few changes to this competition. Should I re-lock games after we are through with them? It would be easier for me if we just stuck with a single game at a time then having people submitting scores for any game that has been unlocked. I would think that maybe when we start some mode on the next game, I will lock the previous game so that no new scores can be submitted. It would be a pain to have to change Touhou 6 while we are on Touhou 11 or something, and then have someone notice that they got knocked out of first place by the new score.

Also just a reminder that tomorrow I'm unlocking normal mode at 10:00 KST.

I'm fine with either way, it might be an interesting idea to tryout, and if it's easier for you to have games lock, that should be taken into account. The connotation I get from "TeamLiquid Touhou Leaderboards" is that its simply the the best player for that mode, and setting a time limit on that adds another dimension that may be good or bad for competition, but really isn't part of the game.
At the very least, I don't think locking a game when the next game easy mode becomes available is a good idea. If I understand your time schedule correctly, that would leave less than a week for Lunatic runs, which should be given plenty of time for people to play.
Another thing to consider is that if we set games/modes to be locked at some determined date, then that might encourage individuals to hold onto a new top score until the the last day before submitting so that other people don't have the ability see and try to specifically beat that, which would somewhat ruin the feel and fun of this type of competition. This could be worked around by making a rule that you have to submit a run within a couple of days of the score being obtained, going by the date on the replay. Just something to consider.
I'm also in favor of adding in extra modes
|
I agree with Imbajoe that 1 week for posting Lunatic scores is pretty short, but some of the other choices have the games open for longer than probably necessary (particularly the easy modes, which could be open as long as 2 months if the final option is chosen)
My proposal would be to have 1 game open at a time and let people submit scores for any difficulty during that time (say, 1 month). Then, once the next game opens up, stop accepting scores for the previous one.
I definitely like the suggestion of requiring replays to be sent in within a short time of them being created (a day or so). If you just spent 25 mins on a runthrough, surely you can spare another minute or two to ship the replay off then as well.
Finally, it might be worth considering preventing Lunatic-level players such as myself from filling the top of the Easy and Normal leaderboards to make the races more interesting for newer players (or perhaps there are other ways to group scores to accomplish the same). Not sure what a fair way to do this would be, though. Obviously, all these choices are completely up to you, though - and don't be afraid to prioritize running it in a way that is most convenient for you. We're just happy to be participating at all :D

Darn I don't know how you guys are getting 90mil+. I thought my run was really good but I only came up with 67mil. :/

@plasmastorm Depending on time and graze, that will be a huge boost. The more you graze, the greater your potential score will be.
