I would love to see other LIVE speedruns for games like WC3 or Dark Souls, PS2 Rpgs like FFXII International Zodiac Job System version or Shadow hearts 2 but meh I guess we will all have to live with seeing OOT being speedrun for the 1'000'000 time or FFX or SM64... always the same games ZzZ
WC3 is hard to run live due to low success-rate strategies. There are runs online but like many similar games, the good players play multiplayer and don't speedrun.
Quite a few people run Dark Souls, TheKotti has been streaming it daily for the last few weeks. FFXII Int was done recently and even had a two day multi-run marathon in September. Shadow Hearts 2 is just ridiculously long and hasn't been streamed since the summer.
It sounds like you never look past the top three streams on SRL. I know it can be tricky to find some runners but post here and we can def help out. A simple "does anyone run x" will get you the answer you want.
http://www.twitch.tv/nitrodon <--- Currently doing FF12 for Crystals for life (Have I plugged that here yet?) in March.
But as Flicky said there are lots of speed runners out there doing lots of cool things its just SRL attracts a certain genre of games that you have to look past.

Was thinking of trying it out, but I'm completely clueless as to routes etc.
Most likely yes. There may not be strats that only they can do (ie, higher mechanical skill required), but just cleaner play will add up over the course of a run. The BW runner really wanted the high rated Iccup guys to improve his run but they didn't want to "take" his strats.
The SC2 run doesn't take very much mechanics wise tbh. It's mostly just about optimizing your openings and knowing when to attack. For example I look a little silly just sitting there and waiting for a long time on the second mission, but you need to eliminate the entire enemy base to end it and by waiting for an extra 11 supply of marines to build the base dies faster than if I just attacked sooner. Most of it is just that kind of simple optimization without a whole lot of room for mechanics to really improve it besides being more consistent.
There isn't really a lot of building units in the sc2 run compared to the BW one. Most of the missions you kind of just finish it with what you have or build a very small amount of units. So while the answer is yes, it's not really a lot. If you want to check out the routes, just look at the Starcraft 2 (Brutal) thread on SDA.
There isn't really a single segment route besides the one that I've developed. Most of the strategies were created by the Individual Level runners and the way they do that is to do every mission except the one they want to run IL and do it with as many upgrades as possible. Some of their strategies were adaptable, others weren't. Obviously with more people playing and developing strategies we could optimize it further, but as of right now tgun is just copying my route and trying to get a decent time and nobody else is really working on developing it further.

Awesome, can't wait to check this out when I get the time.

EDIT: Cara beat WR by 8 sec =D
Was it not his own WR?
It was his own WR
Only person really coming close to beating his time is Luna and she got side tracked rerouting FF9 with me and learning 8 and 13
