Yea in FF11 you always had to kill monsters that were well above your level to gain any xp, so I did expect that. What I didn't like was how you'd run out of things to do after about 2 hours worth of guildleves. The crafting in vanilla was tedious, but I found it OK - I was even making stuff for my character fairly early on (although this was mostly due to not having much better to do and not being able to find things to buy). It was very pretty, but it ran crappy on my very high end PC when every other game I have runs smoothly on ultra. The whole thing just felt like a crude port over to PC from PS3, and there was just no a whole lot to do. Looks like I may be giving the new version a try tho.

I think it's about time to bring this thread up, the next phase of beta tests starts tomorrow (I assume) on June 14th.
I know that some new waves of invites happened because a friend of mine got one just now, I personally don't have one but look forward to when they send out more : D...

Just got the email about the next beta wave as well as the release date. I'm really glad the people who bought 1.0 get the client for free. Having to pay for it again would be a travesty.

So the beta starts later tonight at 2:00am PST, i guess it would be called closed beta 3 or something on those lines. I'd be happy if there would be an open beta like the previous FF14 seeing as it'd be a good way to draw in many players and the subscription-based pay isn't the most popular means of getting your game out there these days.

I may be able to borrow an account to post my first-impressions, and i have not played with the other builds of the game.
Some of the things i loved the most about the original version of FF14 was just how adorable the moogles were, and how amazing the soundtrack was. I really do hope they keep and add onto nobuo uematsu's creations for the original game.

When I registered for the beta, there was mysteriously no option for USA (I was probably on the European page by accident) so I just left my country as the default UK, figuring that it wouldn't matter. Well, they sent me a code but I can't use it because my account is tied to America and its a European code.

Anyone who bought the game when it came out should have gotten a beta invite last night (at least in the US). I'll be trying out A Realm Reborn this weekend for sure. If anyone is interested I can post some screens and my thoughts on the changes.

Just saw I got an invite but holy shit their website is beyond difficult to navigate. I'm not sure if there's a massive amount of people on it but half the pages take 5 reloads just to load all the way correctly and they require you to login on almost every different web page.

hmm im kinda stuck at lvl 14 at some ridiculous quest " Duty, Honor, Country"

spawns like some lesser gargoyle elite boss 2 levels above you thats like impossible to kill.

Game plays like a less responsive wow from 8 years ago. Kiting is painful as a thaumaturge.
Not sure if I wanna continue. At least its better than the beta i played 3 years ago, although thats
not saying much
