As an avid Tekken fan since Tekken 2, along side Starcraft, its been one of two games that I have continued to play throughout my gaming life. Biggest Tekken yet is coming later this year and i can't wait! OGN wanna pick up Tekken Crash? ლ(╹◡╹ლ)
When they announced the release date for this game I was going to write a thread for this too but I'm glad someone else is as hyped for this game as me
I don't exactly know why, but I've always found the Tekken lore quite interesting. Now in the Double Trouble gameplay trailer posted above Heihachi seems to be young again and there's a new Character called Jinpachi (mixture between Heichahi and Jin?) are there any official comments to what exactly is going on there storywise ? (I also noticed a character named Unknown in the video).
Apart from all that story stuff I'm really intrigued to see with what they come up with regarding online play and gameplay modes (especially training).
Edit. Okay I googled a bit and apparently Jinpachi appears in Tekken 5 (didn't play that one) and Unknown was a character in the first Tekken Tag Tournament (which I didn't play either ) but I'm still confused as to why the decided to make Heihachi young (I liked his older look a lot more).

if i recall correctly, young heihachi is one costume and old heihachi the other (punch button costume, kick button costume) i'm not 100% though. and i dont think ttt series is connected to the story

:Father:Jinpachi>Heihachi>Kazuya>Jin:Son: As far as I know. I have no idea why Heihachi looks young either, I'll be sticking with the older look though!

Maybe all the younger looks are just costumes, I mean they are showcasing characters across years of time ingame. I mean I don't really remember the last Tag game having any real story to it and more of a mixer.
So excited...been playing tekken tag at the arcades here...and also tekken 6 when the machines are in the arcade (Koreans still bum tag....its hard to find 4 (my fave) 5 or 6 (unless you go to more modern arcades)).....
just wanted to say that this game is really, really, really fun
i've never played a tekken or 3d fighting game before, and the fight lab tells you the basics you need to start building your skillset with (controls, movement, throw mechanics, combos/tag combos/tag assaults)
the past few big fighting games that have come out i've always found myself going back to playing street fighter 4 arcade edition within a week or so. now i find myself wondering if i will ever go back to 2d fighters.
Doesn't seem to be a huge following of tekken on TL, but that's cool. Anyway, I'm playing tekken pretty seriously now and working my way up (I've been mostly a marvel and SF player for the longest time). Feel free to come check out my stream www.twitch.tv/black0uts - mostly playing kunimitsu with some Jaycee and Asuka on the side. Will probably learn a wave dasher soon like armor king or Devil jin or something. Playing online right now!
Been playing quite a bit. Got scared because my stick wasn't working during matches but they have joysticks off by default, had to actually find my controller to enable it.
Played since tekken 2, jun + heihachi/kazuya were mains for ttt1, started asuka at 5, currently going asuka and jun.
Still slightly disappointed Asuka is still pretty low tier. Gave Jun a lot of good mix ups that aren't really punishable, also her damage seems infinitely higher than Asukas.
Probably gonna rotate to Jun + Devil Jin eventually.
Been playing TTT2 while I wait for P4A to grace Aussie shores and I gotta say, i'm loving the enormous roster. Been using Asuka mostly, no clue who would make a good partner for her though. Any ideas?
oh we have a thread for this!? awesome. I've been digging the hell out of this game. the online netcode is probably the best for any fighter i've ever played. Trying to bring my Anna/Steve team to competency.
@bleck, don't worry about a stick. there are probably just as many players using ps2/3 controllers for tekken as stick, it's just preference. As far as teams... I have no idea really, but people say Lars works with everyone lol
Fab's stream is also really good for learning about characters. if you check the archives, he's done a lot breaking down a couple of the new characters and their whole movesets, with ways to sidestep and punish etc.
If only the customize menu had trumpets instead of trombones, this game would be perfect.
I don't know about ya'll, but I play Tekken on a pad despite playing every other fighter on stick. Just feels more natural playing 3d fighters on pad. Tekken claw pad style yo.
Game is dope btw. Haven't had this much fun with a Tekken since TTT1.

Check that your stick is on DP instead of LS or RS (there should be a switch in the top right depending on stick) as the 'Sticks' usually have a bit of momentum while D-Pad is crisp

I've been playing Tekken on a pad since T2. I've tried adapting to a stick and it's just bad lol
Still enjoying this game a lot, not really investing as much time into it as I did for Sc2 or LoL so I'm hardly the guy to talk to about hardcore gaming, but it is my preffered fighting game by far.
My only gripe with the game, is that the tekken manuals are still just as hellishly bad as they always have been :p

Really enjoying it, I just wish my area had the same player base for tekken as it does for marvel etc
where do you live?
I fell under 60% in overall because I've been char swapping/trying out. Wish it kept your chars seperate like it did in T6, nice to have some warm ups. Turns out my kaz/hei from left side isnt good because I drop/fail at fndf 4 too much on my stick.
Anna pretty unpopular. Shes considered lower mid tier but I know people that used to main her/nina have strayed away from her.
Still haven't hit any Michelle players :x . I've heard she is the god of walls, and lackluster on endless.
