no game with those amounts of textures will be 2gb.
More like 10.

origin works just like steam, with the exception that they have a clause in their ToS that enables them to delete games from your library after 2 years without reason.

Here I sit, opening Origin every 15-30 minutes. Release already. I saw TB playing it, and that made me want to play it. Download, already.

Also, the only thing that I can think of EA doing that would really suck is capping city size as is, and then offering "pay for bigger space".

Edit: Oh, there we go. Downloading now.

I think i will stay away from this game as it will prob eat up waaaay too much of my time. And with HOTS next week it wouldn't be a wise idea lol. Game looks pretty cool though.

Seeing TB playing Sim City sparked my interest in the game. However, it'll be some time before I can get a computer decent enough to play it.

Now the question remains, should I play Sim City 3000 or Sim City 4?

Neither. Play Sim City 2000.

The simulation aspect of it looks really great. The design of the regions suck, and the city size is lame and I think they should have called this game "Sim Town". I really thought one could cover the entire map with buildings, well tough luck. Nonetheless, I may buy it next month.

No problem logging in at all. But that might be because I log in quite late.

BTW, if anyone wanna get the region going together, feel free to add me in origin friend at Veldril151.

As someone who had only played Sim City 2000 previously, I picked up Sim City 4 in a Steam sale last year. I would definitely recommend SC4 to anyone wanting to play this franchise, it's a fantastic game.

I'm glad I didn't bought this shit. I had like 45min queue in the Beta and knew this wouldn't be better in Release. And as always, I was right!
Just a terrible terrible Game, all becuase of EA! There will be so much Rip-Off DLCs in the near future.

Is there huge differences between Simcity 4 and 5 then? I have never played Simcity (that i remember of), but i've always liked that kind of games.

There is a reason this game is NOT called SimCity 5!

sim city 4 is based on a complicated statistics system, especially for traffic. It does not simulate each citizen, it just makes statistics about them and then represents that in the game. The pro of that is that simcity 4 can support rather huge maps.
I have maps where i build 4 villages plus farmland in a single map.

The new simcity is a reboot, it simulates every citizen and every litre of water etc.
The positive is that its very accurate and what you see on the screen is 100% the reality of your city.
Downside is that apparently only 2x2km maps are sustainable right now, which is basically a small town.

So, the new simcity is a lot more user friendly and it looks fun from what i have seen, but you are not gonna build a city. Its simtown, which isnt a bad thing, but it is nnot really a successor of simcity4.

4+mods blows the others away.

i dont care for the one that i downloaded after my comp fried. some of the low level houses are stupid.

i was really interested in this game but there is no way i could tolerate a 2x2 city, with only 16 cities on a region. that's nothing.

Seems like this game came out awful. Tiny city areas, regions that host only 16 cities, always online DRM that seems to be choking out players (just like the D3 launch, what a surprise).

Too bad, the game looked like it might have been fun. Now I certainly won't purchase it with all these issues.
