This is a zelda-like adventure franchise, a big complaint for the first game was that the puzzles were too repetitive and too simple, which has been improved in the second one. The dungeons and puzzles are a HUGE aspect of the game, you guys seem to be looking for some form of brawler game, which Darksiders is not. The people whining about puzzles just make me want to pick this up more!

Get a new item, use the item to solve some puzzles, use the new item to help kill the boss of the dungeon. And you didn't expect that in 2? Its not that i didn't expect that in 2 but 1 started out without it and than shoved it in your face. Two i expected to have less of it since it seemed to me like a "filler" in 1 due to there lack of budget for the game, instead 2 has more of it than 1. Zelda might be a good bit of nostalgia for a lot of people but personally i think a game should ether nail combat perfectly ( think God of war ) or nail puzzle perfectly ( say Portal 2 ). Darksiders had a mish mash of the 2 but somehow they still nailed the combat thus its really annoying to see they didn't improve nor removed the puzzle side in 2.

Im disappointed by it to be honest, the graphics are awful, its a REALLY bad console port onto the PC (like, ive never fucking complained about this before, skyrim and even amalur was fine) and the gameplay is terrible. It comes across as a cheap ripoff of god of war too me, it came out long after GoW3, if it was the same standard i could deal with it, but ideally shouldnt it be better? Its far worse in every aspect IMO. shame im disappointed by it, im glad everyone else is enjoying their moneys worth ![]()

The lack of improvement after so many years is rather disappointing, same with the port. Still annoyed that you have to load a game and then go into your move list in order to adjust keybindings for instance. Story-wise it was okay if it had been a standalone game, but it didn't seem to add that much to the overall plot of Darksiders. It feels like it could've been an expansion or something. Still dig the art-style though heh.

I was very happy with my purchase, even though from a pc-gamer standpoint the port was horrible. If you are fine with the "original" console experience but for a lower price, and are interested in the genre i can strongly recommend the game. Still, i think i am not going to play through it again in the near future, but it was very well worth my time and money.

Ive played only a couple hours of it, but from what your saying its like this God of war-esque combat God of war-esque platforming God of war-esque puzzles Different frequencies of both (more puzzling, less combat) in darksiders // GoW = Nothing like god of war. Euhm..ehm...well. I would still like some of that crack your taking mate, but opinions differ and we're both entitled to them, hope you enjoy the game, or not..im not sure which side of the fence you sit :D

I would still like some of that crack your taking mate, but opinions differ and we're both entitled to them, hope you enjoy the game, or not..im not sure which side of the fence you sit :D What makes gow game good is the specific style of combat mixed with the paste, god of war is much more about wave after wave of enemy and mashing different button in "interactive" cutscenes to kill stronger opponents. Darksiders has a horrible paste, is much more "open" than Gow... gow is almost a freaking corridor, Darksiders is relatively open, you can very much turn back to where you were 8 hours ago and you revisit places quite often. So considering that Gow is about 90% combat and darksiders is 30-50% combat, gow is very linear while darksiders has some "side quests" and a lot of collectables + kinda of an open world, darksiders ( 2 only )has loot and a lot of different sets of armor/weapons while gow only had like 3 weapons ( the blades, the giant fist and w/e was the third one that i don't remember ), i don't really see why you think its like gow. The combat is relatively good and it involves you jumping around and dodging a lot... this makes the whole fucking game like god of war ? If the combat was exactly a copy past from gow i would understand the argument but even that its not ture... its much more "close range", less opponents and more emphasis on simply being able to dodge and attack rather than the direction you are dodging in.

Their fundamentals still remain deadly close imo, with darksiders suffering because, i suppose, it had to encorporate all of the above. Ive not experienced much of the open world element yet, it all seems very linear to me. Despite their differences i still feel they are very much similar. I dont want to argue anyway xD You say tomatoes i say tomatos, all the same shit in the end eh?

GoW is all about hitting the right button at the right moment and watching your character making awesome moves. It's seriously different, there is a cinemaesque quality in GoW that is way less important in Darksiders 2...
