If players can't hit shots then that is a different problem altogether. Maybe I misread your original post but that isn't what you said.
The guys in the Laker offense that are SUPPOSED to be the primary scorers are Gasol, Bynum and Bryant.
Getting them good looks is what I mean by getting the offense to flow.
The Lakers do not have the personel to play like the Magic, who are content to just shoot from the perimiter all day. Yesterday that's all they were able to do.
The team right now with Odom gone, is relegated to a small handful of scorers and a bunch of role players that are on the court to support and play defense.

Well then maybe Miami's defense is the real culprit here

I don't think there's much to take from the heat game. battier and lebron guarding kobe all game is unfair.

I took this from the game: The Lakers cannot win a title, like absolutely for sure. I was almost sure before the game, now positive.

wow just watched lakers @ miami, seems like when wade is out, lebron is back to his old habits taking ball 24/7 shooting from everywhere ~-~

Their defense was solid I'm not trying to take anything away from that.
But the bigger problem here is just how lethargic the lakers are on offense when Kobe isn't in control of it.
Case in point? the Orlando game right now. Kobe has almost half of the team's points and has barely shot the ball at all the entire half. The team is shooting an abysmal percentage in the low 30's and Kobe is above 50% despite being double teamed on practically every posession.
Gasol has missed at least 5 open shots and is only getting his points really at the free throw line. Bynum is in foul trouble and has only attempted 2 shots neither of which went in, and nobody else is making any plays of note offensively with any semblence of consistency.
I honestly can't understand why anyone would fault kobe for deciding to start shooting the ball in the second half with the way everyone is playing right now on offense.
EDIT: The Lakers are actually shooting 28% for the half. Kobe is 6-10 so at 60% shooting with 15 points.

Man, if Luol Deng isn't an All-Star this year, something's wrong!

What a game....twolves and clippers

and games like that show why the "putting up stats on a bad team = not that good of a player" is such a stupid idea. If you're good, you're good. Much harder to win on a bad team than people realize.

On the other hand, as previously documented, the Clippers defense and rebounding sucks.

Did the Clippers even get outrebounded in that game? If they did, it was by very little. And Rubio hit 1-11 with very blech defense. If Chris Paul played, that game would be different.
Not to sound bitter.

How are the Knicks so consistently bad with infinite resourses at their disposal?
It just defies belief.

seems like I was the only one watching the barn burner indy gsw game
