I pray to basketball Jesus every night that the Dubs lose their draft pick. Bwahahaha.
Arsehole. Anyways they lost (won) tonight so they're that much closer to keeping it (I hope). Anyways isn't there one team that's more screwed than the Dubs? They have to tank into the top 3 to keep their draft pick? I forget with all the complicated lottery rules and trades it makes my head woozy to think about.
Anyways I hate Nate Robinson at times. He's a chucker, but maaaan I watch this video and it makes me sob, he seems like such a cool person IRL. Makes me on the fence about if I want him back..
toronto, det, cavs aren't tanking, they are actually just bad. tanking is fine, only so many televised games to go around, legacy teams the first half, contenders the second.
all three teams I said arent tanking have player development, or defensive specialists, they are trying to get their teams to honestly not suck, they just can't.
det can't tank since they are trying to sell, cavs just got really bad, and mil/nyk picked up their game, toronto is just bad, and bargs was hurt too long for them to be relevant. now njn, xharlotte, was, gsw, sactown, noh. those are some teams tanking. det, tor, and the cavs are still trying to sell tickets, at least.
I agree though with RowdieBob, Cavs were in it to take a playoff seed until they lost varejao. With varejao, and Kyrie they had a decent chance to make a run at a #8 seed with how weak the bottom half of the eastern conference was. Shame.
but milwaukee traded up, at least for this year, and nyk started to gel, the cavs traded down, and a player got hurt, its not like they were ever tanking on purpose. no way the cavs are better than mil, and nyk after the trade deadline. sure you can point to verajaos injury to being the catalyst, but they had a long shot to begin with.

The injuries to Kyrie and Verajao just killed them. I actually thought they would make the playoffs. Kyrie Irving just straight up changed that team.
I never thought they were that competitive I guess, I thought for about a month they might squeak in, but just because they had the same record as boston, didn't make them anywhere near bostons level. you could always tell the cavs were playing player development roles for most of their players, trying to increase their assets. a lot like houstan, just houstan players developed more than the general consensus expected, and had martin, lowry, scola to lean on early in the season.
They are trying to turn it around though, because Frank is actually a good coach and they actually have young talent. They just have a lot of overpaid veterans too.
I must've totally missed that pick up, or put it to the back of my head, still from what I've seen in det, they are definitely in build assets mode, as their contracts on charlie v and ben gordon, as well as their deal to prince have then bogged down in nba hell.
I knew we were going to get fucked but I took a nap because I had a headache and I woke up and for thirty minutes I avoided it but then I opened iGoogle and in the middle of my screen
85-47
and I had like this "are you serious" face the one from the memes for like a minute.
Edit: No but really, what the fuck? LOL I don't even wanna look at this box score I think it may drive me to slay myself.

Yeah it's scary how good he is. I was watching the Dubs game the other night and Chris Mullin was talking about how his pick for RoY was either Irving or Klay Thompson. I love Klay Thompson; I really do. I think he's underrated and doesn't get a lot of respect/hype around the league playing for the Dubs, but seriously.. Thompson couldn't hold Irving's dick right now.. or ever for that matter.
