Somehow I always find it disgusting losing to Bulls. Something about this team is just so shitty, I have no idea what.
How are the matchups even remotely in the knicks favour? Their best player is offensively negated by chicagos best defender, their 2nd best player is injured, their third best player is a center who can only do alley oops and put backs, with very limited offensive game.
Their point guards are outmatched, even if Rose doesn't come back, which he most likely will, their shooting guards are a wash, with chicago probably getting the edge for sheer utility of having 3 natural shooting guards, rather than Iman Shumpert, and Landry Fields.
Plus, the bench is easily in Chicagos favour, they have 2 solid big men, one defense, and one offense, to sub into the game, and have proven themselves in big minutes. They also have superior guards due to the experience their PG's got with Rose out, and the same with Rips injury. Rip and Rose are already proven themselves at a high level, so their injuries are hardly something to worry about (this year).
Unless you seriously think Steve Novak, and Jared Jefferies are honestly better than Taj Gibson and Ashton Kutcher, but I'd call that more or less a wash.
And phillys schedule is just as hard, and they fucking suck the second half of the year, its better a question of can we get 3rd, which i doubt after two hard losses to the spurs and chicago, but it was definitely possible, and still is barring an indiana melt down.

I'm not sure they can top philly, good coaching and wing defenders there, and chicago doesn't have a huge post threat, aside from the booze, to punish phillys lack of interior d.
liking home court a lot more now that indy moved to number 3, they were scary as a 4/5 matchup, atl and orlando aren't scary at all.
I actually cant wait to see Knicks vs Bulls in playoffs. If NY does anything right the matchups are not bad. And its arguable who has the better bench.
4th seed looking good but its hard to not fall behind philly with this schedule. Im almost ready mentally they play Miami

love it.
chicago's bench is watson, lucas, korver, brewer, gibson and asik. it's among the top benches in the league.

That's the only thing I think about when I hear Scalabrine now. Top 10 player in the NBA!

I assume Amare and Lin will be back by 1st round, which is indicated by most reports. Amare and Melo will be different players in playoffs, Chandler will be usual beast. I dont know why none of you think of this as advantage for NY. Rose is the scary thing but you can live with that if hes limited to <30 a game. If Chandler kills Noah and Melo outshoots Deng - isnt it up for grabs? I can not see Boozer outplaying Amare either, Boozer is trash.
How do you not mention JR? Him and Novak and Jeffries and either Baron or Lin off the bench - looks good to me. And Im a fan of Shumpert. Chicago is deep on paper but will it hold up vs star players in playoff time?

scalabrine?
Won a ring with the Celtics.
Honestly, Boston-Chicago is a bitter thing. I've not met a Chicago fan who doesn't hate Rondo, I think Rose hates Rondo, I think Rondo hates Rose and Noah.
lin and davis are non-factors, and chicago won't match up with booze on amare unless they have to, noah, asik, gibson will most likely be the defensive focus on amare, because defending against chandler is easy, box out and prevent lobs.
jr smith is good, but he is more or less a wash against rip, and if rip was healthy, his off ball movement and defense is far greater than jr smith.
so basically, the bulls have an extreme advantage at the 1, rose and backups far greater than lin/davis. a wash at the two, rip + brewer vs. smith + shumpert. the front court is absolutely dominated by chicago, deng, boozer, noah, gibson and asik vs melo, amare, chandler, novak, landry fields, and jefferies.
the starting lineups are relatively equal, but the bench absolutely kills nyk, that's without even mentioning that nyk struggle in half court sets, and excel in transition, both of which chicago is top in the league against defensively.
nyk has too many iso gunners, and not enough play time together this year to make a legit run at chicago, miami, or even indiana and boston.

I don't even want to see Lin or Davis trying to guard Rose. They need someone faster, Knicks are playing some very good defense right now, but that defense hasn't been tested by the elites. We will see if they are able to hold the Bulls below 90, they have a chance. But there is no way in hell that's ganna happen 4times in a best of 7.

Maybe it's because they only have 2 players that have an ounce of skill. The others are just there to get offensive rebounds, elbow you out of the way and lay up.
