Disclaimer I know there are a few topics about this game, but the game has been taken over by a new company. The topics are out dated and I will be posting new information.
Sudden Attack NA will be taken over by Nexon NA on November 11th. The game was originally serviced by GameHi and released late 2009. It was originally released in 2006 in South Korea.
Sudden Attack is free 2 play MMOFPS that is considered the Counter-Strike of Korea. It is your basic red vs blue or terrorists vs counter terrorists. The main game mode is search and destroy. It once held the top played online game in Korea for 100 weeks straight. The game is mainly compared to CS 1.5 and sometimes 1.3. Unlike it's competition in the f2p world. SA is not a pay 2 win game. There are no Cash items that cause an imbalance in game. The game play is based around competitive play. It is has a very high skill cap and is nothing like the modern spray and pray shooters. It boasts 30 million users world wide. (It doesn't have more than 15k users in Europe/North or South America.)
The Korean version currently features 10 different game modes.
- Rifle recoil is random - AK47 and TRG (awp) are the most powerful weapons - You can only carry one grenade/smoke/flash (Flash has 2 flashes) - Everyone can buy defuse kit before game - Everyone has a bomb - There are glitches that made the game more competitive and take skill to do properly Main glitch is ghost walk or running while making no noise. Main sniper glitch is called breaking. It is where you seem to be moving and shooting too the enemy, however it looks the same on your screen. This is used to stop other snipers from camping. - Tapping is the best way to rifle - You can move and shoot without losing accuracy - Over nades are really important to learn
There are 6 competitive maps that are really well balanced for both sides.
You can still play the game now through gamehi.com
I'm mainly posting this because one of the world's largest gaming companies is taking over the game. Nexon is a huge company and hopefully they will help make this game more popular in NA/Europe.
Played SA until maybe six months ago, great game for anyone looking to get into a free shooter (yet still has a very active community). One thing I like about SA personally is the clan system, its very simple and works really well. I prefer CS over this since they both have similar styles but this game has people that don't bitch and moan every single waking day of the week on it which is nice, so if I were to get back into this type of FPS I would choose SA over CS. Too bad there just being bought out now though, I was very active but am now getting ready to commence into BF3 addiction mode which means no time for any other game. Btw depot is the best tactical shooter map I've ever played, loooove that one. ♥
I played SA about a year ago and had a blast before getting into BF games but now I'm back into SA so if anyone wants to ever team up add me, my ID is Matthew_1943 and I should be on there quite a bit from now on. I always thought SA>CS as far as amateur play is concerned since they have clan support and you can make your own game without having to spend a dime. I'm kinda surprised nobody has posted in here in so long but hopefully some of you guys play, can get kinda lonely without any buddies to play the game with.

No it sure isn't, if you prefer the TRG (OSK btw) then you do need 10K points (1 week) which you can earn through playing, you start off with new accounts with 20K points and the gun I prefer is a 2SK Socom-K sniper rifle which is a measly 5500 points for a week. Usually if you play regular and not outstanding in a round you bank 150 points, if you do "good" you can get a bit over 300 and above in a round. The maps are amazing, diverse and always...alwwwayys have peoples playing.
Try playing CS outside of ESEA and you end up with a trillion people in a round and a headache from endless flash bangs, this game is nice in that the largest servers are 8v8 but standard games are usually a few less. Its an amazing game that can be played on basically any computer, it has clan support and a fairly cool community of players always online. Now if you like throwing 10 bucks a month into the game you can basically have whatever you want but it doesn't make a difference if your opponent is playing as good as you are.
Today a ton of people were amazed to see how efficient the Socom is vs people who have the TRG, it really can take on any role but then again even when I use the TRG i used some points on I get outplayed by AK/M4 users because they can stay steady and aim fast. Would be great to see people start to play, they've even made a game mode that's similar to that zombie mod for CS where its vampires instead and they can be killed. Lots of fun to be had in SA, can't beat the fact its free, active and runs smooth on even older pc's/laptops.
tl;dr: No its not, the TRG may be the "best" gun but even with the basic guns you always have you can beat them with good control and playing smart.
