But on the other hand considering the amount of time a map takes, it is really hard to balance for tournament organisers More like the inevitable delays/their tendency to wait so long before/inbetween matches makes this shit drag on much longer than necessary. It's ridiculous and these CS:GO tournament organizers really need to step up their game.

It is much more the tournament system in my opinion. Having a Bo1 as decider is just really unfulfilling especially since a good team on nuke will wreck other teams if they start on CT. Bo3 would work as a equalizer to those maps. I just thought that the last match was just decided on whoever started on CT-side since dignitas and titan are both notoriously good on it. And Anders said that as higher seed dignitas got to choose CT-side so to me that was a bit underwhelming to see titan drop out like that

TI had some crazy ass format with a million games though don't they? although I guess Dota2 games can vary from 10 minutes to an hour+. While CS games are almost guaranteed to be minimum 30-45 minutes.

But after those, all matches (bubble brackets and main event) were at least Bo3

Navi > Fnatic Cloud9 > NiP VP > LDLC Epsilon > Dignitas Subject to change, but any team can beat any and some I chose just because the betting percentages were so out of whack. It's a Bo3 format in quarters right? At this point all the games are way too hard to call. I don't think there's going to be a single blow out game tomorrow actually with the exception of maybe VP/LDLC (LDLC has gotten really good but I don't think they're a team that would make a top 4 finish just yet). The Navi/Fnatic percentage is just way too unjustified and as much as I would like to bet against Navi there's nothing to earn betting on FNC so I just bet useless skins. Epsilon/Dig is scary to think about because both teams are solid but there's a question of experience about whether or not winning a Bo3 is possible versus a Bo1. But I vote Epsilon because I think they're overdue for a more legitimate top 4 finish and while Dignitas have some sick players, I think Epsilon's players, not just Shox, are really good. I think the C9 hype is real and the people who are betting on NiP are betting on what NiP used to be and not what they are currently. From what I've seen the team has not shown up to play, though this could again be historically the fact that their group stages have always been paltry. Might switch to NiP, but we'll see. I don't like the idea that I'm voting on any American team, so maybe I'll be convinced to change later.

Shit like that should be handled way before. Make the players come in early, get them ready to go, and start the damn match on time. Americans already have to stay up at ungodly hours to watch this stuff - making us wait an extra hour is not cool.

C9 has the momentum, the crowd, the confidence, and they also have experience with Bo3s and as they have shown today, they can face a team on one of their most terrifying maps and come out on top.

I mean that's like listing all of Flash's accomplishments and then deciding not to bet against him towards the end of Broodwar. Yeah the guy was still a monster and could smash his opponents but he wasn't unbeatable anymore and even players he used to handle with ease had stepped up their game. I think a lot of teams just got a lot better and NiP haven't been improving as well. Granted, I could be wrong. Maybe NiP found some massive drive after their performance at gfinity (I hope they did) and they're really good now, but all the teams have an equal shot at beating NiP. The only things I don't like betting in are like 90/10 kind of bets. And I kind of want to avoid NiP this time too just to see how they are and then bet in the semis, but I think C9 actually have a good shot at beating NiP.
