and matchmaking is pretty legit. most people have mic's and use them, most people take the game with a nice dash of seriousness. the servers are mediocre (run at 64 tic instead of the tournament standard 128 tic) but I get decent ping and have yet to experience a blatant cheater/hacker. i usually que with 1-2 buddies and que times are never longer than 5 min.

There's some pretty blatant cheaters up there that are pretty common to see, caV / Juke to name a few.. really lame to get matched up against these guys night after night. As for a free version of ESEA, the only place you will find a cheater-free place to play will always only be ESEA - its worth the money. Interesting, I have been doing more MM lately and am rank 16 (legendary eagle master, there are 18 ranks total) but dont really ever get matched with the same opponents. Only encountered 1 really blatant hacker so far after 60ish wins. ESEA is worth it though if only because they are not stupid 64/66 tick servers. I think the thing that has NiP at the top right now, is that they committed to CS:GO earlier than other teams. The fact that they are a bunch of veterans and good friends, has been a catalyst in adapting. They also haven't had any roster changes like most of the other teams have been going through, and have implemented a successful practice regiment.

I hope Valve really ups their VAC to combat this, as it ruins having a relaxed time playing in a pub deathmatch server.
