Is there a list of the ranks somewhere? I don't know what number mine corresponds to (though I know it's not even halfway).

i'm rank 14 i believe (the star) with 80 compet. wins.

and matchmaking is pretty legit. most people have mic's and use them, most people take the game with a nice dash of seriousness. the servers are mediocre (run at 64 tic instead of the tournament standard 128 tic) but I get decent ping and have yet to experience a blatant cheater/hacker.

i usually que with 1-2 buddies and que times are never longer than 5 min.

Once you hit rank 16/17 (supreme master first class, global elite respectively) you get matched up against the same people if you queue one game after another normally. There's some pretty blatant cheaters up there that are pretty common to see, caV / Juke to name a few.. really lame to get matched up against these guys night after night. As for a free version of ESEA, the only place you will find a cheater-free place to play will always only be ESEA - its worth the money.

Interesting, I have been doing more MM lately and am rank 16 (legendary eagle master, there are 18 ranks total) but dont really ever get matched with the same opponents. Only encountered 1 really blatant hacker so far after 60ish wins. ESEA is worth it though if only because they are not stupid 64/66 tick servers.

The final of the Thor Open will be between CurseEU and NiP. How was the game that they played between each other yesterday?

Why are CS games literally always delayed?

There were computer problems yesterday, so maybe they wanted to fix that...

NiP winning another tournament, surprise surprise. XD Who would've thought?

I think 2013 is going to be a huge year for CS:GO, Valve seems to be working hard to update the game. NiP is winning it all now, but these other EU teams are slowly catching up. Congrats to Curse EU for keeping it a close 16-13 match.

it should be said that with the exception of NIP, the playing field is extremely even and unpredictable at the top level, every top team can beat any other, so if someone tore down NIP from their throne we'd have one hell of a scene.

I think the thing that has NiP at the top right now, is that they committed to CS:GO earlier than other teams. The fact that they are a bunch of veterans and good friends, has been a catalyst in adapting. They also haven't had any roster changes like most of the other teams have been going through, and have implemented a successful practice regiment.

I have to say, the amount of hacking going on in this game is absolutely atrocious. Pray that if you do a competitive match-making mode you don't run into one of them.

I hope Valve really ups their VAC to combat this, as it ruins having a relaxed time playing in a pub deathmatch server.
Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Tbh, so far I have only seen one hacker. Most of the time, people are getting accused of hacking while in fact, they are just playing way better than the casuals

seen a handful of them lately. one guy was blatantly speedhacking on dust2, he would be at B double doors before the cts even got there.
