Might actually be useful against people who go for headshots.
Ah ok. Its also really useful for negating most recoil on a lot of guns. In 1.6 you could negate almost all of the colt's recoil (though CS:GO the M4 has a lot lot lot more recoil) by crouching.

I tested with both the AK and M4 and there's no detectable recoil reduction from crouching in CS:GO.

I bought a server last night (128 tick which is cool) for personal use/10mans/my team practice. I'm putting a bunch of old map remakes and aim maps... wondering if there's any interest for TL people to come in to play or something. *shrug* Just figured I throw it out there since I just got the server for fun anyway... Meh?
Anyway, IP is: 68.232.176.175:27015 doing some aim maps, I opened the server to be public for now.
Edit: Streaming now, couple scrims before bed.~

What kind of issues is anyone having streaming this game with Xsplit, I am finding the frame rate sporadic at best, max is about 120 and drops to 30 for no reason. I have an i7 and a 6970 with 6GB of ram, so it's more than adequate. I've tried messing with the settings, but I kinda like them cranked since I run 200fps when they are maxed out and I'm not streaming. Any thoughts? Resolution is 1920x1080 for both streaming and game, i change resolution to 1280x720 for each with little to no change, i also did Vsync.

Not sure :\ I didn't have any issues streaming, really. I get like 90-110 FPS streaming @ 1920, so I bumped it down because that's not good enough. Aside from that, everything was smooth. On another note, going to stream some scrims tonight, I guess.

Does double tapping crouch still help you get up short lips without making jumping sounds trick still work in GO? I tried it the other day but wasn't sure if the lip was to high or not, but it wouldn't work.

does anybody have a nice summary about how the matchmaking actually works? ive been looking forward to a dota like elo mm that sets up a game for, say, 10 players who play from the beginning to the end, with severe punishment for players who leave, but apparently you can just jump in and out of any game with bots taking over the free spots/leaving if a player joins...?

well thats what happens all the time in arts games and playing out a lost dota is way more painful than cs. they could even add a forfeit option if they deem it necessary

And I am really happy that it is not like in DOTA2 or LoL.

in matchmaking? sure. you can and do have facerolling games in any skillbraket in matchmaking, with no possibility to forfeit the game at all, and all you can do is take it and hope your enemies dont drag it out.

I've been spraying a lot and I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. I've had a few HeatoN moments, though I'm not sure if it was accidental or the result of my own control.

Right now I have a 15" (38.1 cm) 180 with my current sens and cpi, I'm thinking about getting used to higher sens since it seems to be more useful in CS having to turn from flashes quickly would be easier if i didn't have to go across my mousepad. What I currently have feels pretty comfortable but I'm so bad at shooting right now that it isn't like I'm super used to this and can't change... I see pros with higher sens than me still be able to aim as smoothly as my sensitivity lets me.
I understand sensitivity is supposed to be preference, but I'm the type of person that wants every advantage, so if a little higher sensitivity will give me an advantage once I get used to it, I will be all for it. What do you guys think?

Hehe I felt the same with the M4 lately, just shooting a couple of bullets more and they were still on target. Spraying with the AK is nowhere near where I was in 1.6 though.

Sensitivity, as you said, is completely preference. My only general rule was being able to 180 quickly and comfortably, for that very reason (flashbangs).
And to address the spraying thing, it definitely works, it's just.. so different from CSS/1.6 that it seems broken. My muscle memory is fighting me every second when I instinctively spray with the m4, haha.

I decided to increase my sensitivity, it's faster but still feels good. So I'll start practicing with this, being able to not go the full length of my mousepad and do a 180 is nice.

I set it up so that when I 180 I just have to crank my wrist over. I find that most efficient because it's a fast motion without having to move my whole arm or readjust mouse on the mousepad to keep going that way.
|
I actually played with a 1" 180 for a while, because I mistakenly thought everyone did that with fancy mice. I halved my sensitivity recently and my headshot ratio improved a lot, but I don't think I'd gain much above that. I prefer to use wrist stabilisation so the numbers don't compare to someone who plays with their whole arm.
A general technical point for using higher sensitivities: Always increase dpi rather than game sensitivity. You get more consistent single-pixel movements if the mouse is reporting several dots per screen pixel, and for that you ideally want at least 10000 dots for a 180.

My match is right now (Shouldn't be a very hard match.) Streaming~
