I still think Barca are the clear favorites to qualify, but Milan have gotten a confidence boost from getting a draw against the best team in the world. Being able to shut down Barca's central attack shows that Milan are able to cope (albeit barely) without Thiago Silva. That being said, it's unfortunate that Barca got the short end of the stick being forced to play on the San Siro's horribly maintained pitch. Top that with a couple of blind referee decisions, and they really did deserve the win, and theoretically these shenanigans should not work in the 2nd leg. Either way, looking forward to a (hopefully) better match next week.

But I guess a flood of yellow cards could be expected from a spanish referee in expectation of a semifinal against Madrid.

Interesting!
Second legs of Chelsea vs Benfica and Barcelona vs Milan are no way set in stone yet. All be it Chelsea have a decent advantage of a 1-0 lead an away goal and playing at home where they are really good in champions league vs Benfica. Barca have a very tricky tie now vs Milan at the Camp Nou, if Milan go out gung ho or even just grab the first goal, that puts Barca in deep trouble. Good luck to Milan, would much rather play Milan than Barca!! Even though Chelsea have never coneded a goal from Messi ^_^

Barca didn't use the sides very well... they focused too much on the center where the complete Milan team was standing, imho. I know Barca plays through the center with Messi most of the time, but they should have adjusted yesterday.
Overall, I felt it was a poor performance of a lot of players. They just were not really sharp, normally they would not miss that much chances. Oh and the pitch sucked yes.

Oh, 0-0 at home is a clear advantage, as you can also advance away with a draw with goals scored. I mean, it is better going in for Milan then for Barca. If you asked Milan upfront, what score do you want to have in the return leg, but you may not win, they would say 0-0. If you ask the same to Barca, they would not say 0-0.

Also ketch, if Milan turn up like they did in the Emirates @ the Camp Nou, they will lose 6 ot 7-0! They have to be 100x better than they were at the Eimrates at Barca, thats there only problem atm

I expect Milan not to get too complacent this time. However with how the games are going nowadays, especially attacking teams like Barca and Arsenal have the ability to quickly overpower their opponents if all goes right, so I would not exclude it from expectations.

Barca filed a complaint to uefa against AC Milan for having a shitty pitch. Just imagine if arsenal can beat them 3-0 on a proper pitch than barca can beat them 6-0 lol.

The pitch is a pretty lame excuse. They're professionals they should be able to perform in all circumstances not just when it's right for them. It's not like Milan played on a different field either.

Yeah the pitch should be in good condition but you can't blame a loss on a field and certainly not because both teams play on it. And like I said they're professionals they should be able to deal with a bad pitch.

Funny barca, should blame Sanchez for wasting 2 very good opportunities. And maybe think we just did not play very well for this ONE game of the season, they are so bitter and twisted. Should try being on the receiving end of the biggest fix in champions league history which was Chelsea vs Barcelona in 2008. What a joke of a 2nd leg that was!

Wenger complained about the pitch too after the lost in the 1st leg. So its not only barca, whos complaining

I agree that AC Milan should just always have a good pitch. Imo most players and coaches just look like spoiled kids nowadays they just take every oppertunity to whine and complain if they lose, it's just annoying me a lot atm...

How in any absolutely any scenario, is drawing at home a "clear advantage", even 0-0. THe only thing a 0-0 provides you is the fact that you remove the possibilty of extra time once a goal is scored in the second leg. If the teams are pretty even then yeah you wouldnt mind not conceding at home. That is the most important thing if you dont plan on winning after all.
Yes in the circumstances Milan would be happy, but would they feel "advantaged', are you kidding me ? Barca are never happy drawing games, so yes they wont be happy with a 0-0. How does that transfer into an advantage to Milan ? Lets be clear. Barca are inhuman at the Nou, its not even funny what their record is there.
No team will ever feel confident going there and trying to get a goal scoring draw, except maybe Real or a Man United (on current form anyway). Can they get it ? yea sure. Will they ? No probably not, they will get played of the pitch, wont get even half the touches they got last game because keeping the ball is ridiculously easier for Barca at home. Its a completely different beast. Better pivots, twisting and turning is easier, more movement, they feel more comfortable in every way, ofcourse home crowd etc etc.
Barca for better or worse are very very dependant on the conditions they play in. Even in the league teams have exploited that. But thats all away from home. You can argue that they should be able to overcome it, and Guardiola pretty much said flat out post game that they dont consider it an excuse, to be the best team you have to be the best in all conditions. Still Ill go on record here. Looking at the way Milan played I dont see them getting a goal scoring draw.
Look at it this way. If there had been any other result in the first leg a 1-1 or a 1-0 for Barca (because lets be honest Milan werent winning that game if they were going to miss the chances they got lobbing the ball and knicking it high up because its bouncing all over the place.). Would anyone even give Milan a chance chasing the game ? No they wouldnt, essentially they are just "in" the tie. They are in no way ahead. Never are you at an advantage because you "hope" to nick a goal or something, thats just stupid and what relegation level teams do.
So yea they are in maybe are in a position they would take, but its just that, something theyre happy with. It is not an "advantage".

Chelsea don't deserve to be here, Napoli were robbed.

Wtf so many wrong stuff on one sentence ololol.
First, Barça isn't blaming. You might understand that, but barça isn't blaming crap. They sent a complain about the pitch because high level play is supposed to be played in a high level field, and the people who pay to watch the game deserve it as well. The field was perfect one week ago. They destroyed their own field on purpose against barça, just like Madrid did at Bernabeu, and many others in the past.
Second, we can't blame a loss because we didn't lose. It was a draw xD

The pitch wasn't perfect. In fact Arsene Wenger made a similar complaint last month. The pitch being bad is just what happens when you have two top clubs sharing the same stadium.

yeah sorry it was a draw. You know what's funny? They didn't complain about the pitch Tuesday when they trained on it and after that it got approved by the UEFA but after the draw it's suddenly all terrible.
