Haha, messi looks pretty pissed compared to his usual happy face. Understandable though.

Well the 3 midfielder prevent him to start his run from the 30/40 meters and then he has Nesta/Mexes constantly on him, both playing awesomely btw

Barca's passing has been very sloppy in the 2nd half.

edit: not the football feast I was expecting. 1st half was quite entertaining, but 2nd half was very flat.

First game between Barcelona and Milan is over. End score is 0-0.

AC handled this well, disrupting barca, eliminating messi.

Those two penalties were pretty damn obvious. See you at Camp Nou, you won't be as lucky here

Game over 0-0, little disappointing game, but whatevs, at least the final score is in Barca's favour for the second leg I'd say, so I'm still pleased

What a poor performance from Barca tonight, Xavi especially felt to be having an off day

I have to say, Bayern played strong, but Marseille disappointed me. No creativity, no gameplan after falling behind. So Barca-Milan is the most even tie after the first legs.

Actually Xavi played a sick good game as usual, but whatever floats your boat.

I also liked a lot Nesta and Piqué. Iniesta was probably the weakest for us (Barça).

Very disappointed with the overall performance of Barça. Second half was very lack-luster and non-Barça like.

Neither team deserved the match, but it should have been 1-1 or 2-2.

Indeed Iniesta was poor. Sanchez too IMO.

Yeah, pretty weird how this game ended 0-0 with the chances both sides got.

I think Milan had a big saying at how Barça played. You can't expect players to dribble 4 players and score every single game. Unfortunately it was 0-0. That's a good score for Milan. They can play the same way at Camp Nou and if they score once Barça will be in big trouble.

I don't know whats with Guardiola putting Iniesta on the wing, what a way to waste him specially when the midfield is struggling. He's rarely effective there, and then substituing him for poor performance. What a surprise.
Xavi has been carrying the midfield on his back by himself this whole game.

I'm very impressed with Milan's defense today. I expected them to be struggling in the defense with the absence of Thiago Silva and Abate. The lack of Abate would've made Sanchez's sprints down the left even more troublesome I had assumed...

Even as a Milan fan, the foul on Sanchez in the box should really have been a penalty, but I won't complain about it XD I was on my feet cursing at all the wasted chances, especially Ibra and Robinho's early chances in the first half...

Overall, I feel this puts Milan in a better position for the match at Camp Nou since Barca has no away goal to put us on edge. If Milan were to score even once in the 2nd leg, Barca will be pressured to score at least 1 more goal.

Milan defended really well. Maybe Barca could have been better but I honestly dont think they played they played badly at all.

Also I cant be the only one who noticed they were playing an atrocious pitch ? There were divvets flying all over the place. Your typical "long ball" offense pitch. Fancy Barca at home, Having to take an extra touch all the time is pretty killer if you want to break down defenses as good as Milans was today and they still made chances. Doubt Milan will even get a whiff of the ball next leg with the slicker pitch. They might score but theyll let in a few.

Iniesta was a non factor on the flank and playing through the middle wasnt working, if Cesc was available he didnt get the nod because Barca tried to throw in some fresh wide players like Tello and Pedro to stretch the play a bit and run at the defense from the flanks. Makes perfect sense tactly to me. I dont get this "O noes, why no Cesc" when hes obviously not going to be as effective. You dont just blindly make subs because its Cesc. Maybe he could have brought him in for Keita but really he had a sured up midfield and bringing Cesc in doesnt provide the same depth as far as orchestrating the play is concerned compared to Xavi, Cesc has never been as comfortable playing (or as effective) playing from as deep as Xavi does. Xavi was a boss as usual, dont get why anyone would think otherwise.

TL:DR, bringing in the wingers was the better option atleast in his head, cant say I dont see the logic.

Edit :I dont see how 0-0 is an edge to Milan. It doesnt change the ,equation much Barca still need to win. The only thing a 0-0 does is remove the possibility of extra time in the second leg if a goal is scored. Milan are just happy with the result because they are nowhere near as good as the team they are playing and they know it.

Milan, bringing teams down to their level and then beating them with experience like no other, lol.
