Bill Murray wrote: Just go ahead and Nc6, why so slow this early? It's just an opening. You're 1 person. You can make a quick decision. We have a lot to vote on, and you updating it quickly is more advantageous to us as a group because people would have more time to be able to come and collectively cast. An old man once told me never to reply in a correspondence the same day that you received the move on. Never. Even if it's a queen exchange. Or checkmate. Or opening. Always sleep on it.

I'll try and make up for it when I'm a little more recovered. You have the whole weekend to discuss, so be ready. Set. Go. ![]()

+ Show Spoiler + We contest two of the positions his knight is controlling. I suck at chess tho.

+ Show Spoiler + Get into the Ruy Lopez. Solid opener that we can open up later for more tactical play to take advantage of the collective brain power.

I also vote 3. Bc4 + Show Spoiler + I think that this move will let us put some pressure on the F pawn. As some dude said, most of the game is about pressuring the F pawn. Plus, it creates a non-zero chance that we could play Evan's gambit (should he respond 3 ... Bc5) and that's a super cool opening.

+ Show Spoiler + Alright, I'm seeing a lot of Nc3 c3 etc. I'm gonna go over all of them a little bit: First, c3 is a bit early. No need to put a pawn there yet. Who knows? Maybe we want our knight there. This is also the reason why Nc3, although somewhat more standard, is not my top candidate move. Are we playing the Ruy Lopez? We'll move the knight to d2 and play c3. Are we playing the Italian? The knight will go to c3 and the pawn will remain. We can see that honestly it's not known which piece should be moved to that square yet, so why move any? Instead let's play the Bishop which we do know where it goes, either B5 or C4. Since we decided that, collectively, standard is better I say we continue on a nice standard, non aggressive game. Therefore Bb5. ...Alternatively we can say fuck that and play d4 for the hell of it lol Edit: changed a "?" to a "." I fail at punctuation ![]()
