So do they like have an agreement with Blizzard to hack? Or is this ran by Blizzard...? I don't get how that operation could work.

Once found a pretty good pala skiller charm with life by chance, it turns out it was worth alot. Sold it on such a site and geared up 3 of my chars with the sickest runeword items and uniques for its worth. Service was quite good and none of the items ever disappeared. Can't really remember wtf the sites name was, such a long time ago.

Other = Open ( You can play with singleplayer chars on bnet )/ players can modify ingame data At some point, they did have a security flaw that was inherit in their system wherein they could trick the server to allowing the "open" ones to play on the "closed" servers. ( Doesn't exist anymore anyways ) If you want to trade with people on d2 ( I believe most of the use d2jsp, but there's also another site out there ) Those sites that sell you items for IRL money = mass bots / they automatically run baal/diablo/mephisto and usually by a paladin or a sorceress character They have pickit and some other functions ( won't pick up certain items / can identify what item it is without doing so... ) If you ran a baal bot, you can get ~10+ uniques with Mlvl 85+ and in a night ( only the bot would do it faster ) or so some people say also pickit will keep all runes Ist --> Zod The bots also have chicken function ( Good for playing HC ) it'll automatically quit the game if the HP goes too low If you want to mass run for Anni charms, you'd have to open up a tool to check servers/ips and identify the server ip that Über Diablo is on ( not legit to do so, but tons of people do this ) Some modifiers on charms require very high Mlvl ( Baal gives the highest in the game, so any grand charm from baal = good to keep if you got tons of gems to roll with ) You can get +1 Skill type, +40 life ( Mlvl is hidden, so you'll have to memorize them if you picked any items up )

If a site has cheap items i guess it's most likely dupes.

I'm pretty amazed people still play that game. Vanilla was by far the best when the top gear was rare. The expansion totally ruined that game (and my profit margins). they have dupes of those rare items, too... if I remember... some were like +40% IAS and ~250 % ED/ lifesteal and some other things... and then the rings with 7/6% dual leech +13+ stats and +life/mana/resist oh and if you ever use d2jsp, you can use the FG on that forum for many other games ( neopets included I guess) Annis are massed on all servers, but it'd be immensely hard for them to get so many if it wasn't for that tool to just straight up locate the one to play on

I'm not trying to cheat btw I'm just curious how this all works for these sites that sell items. The basis of it requires you to cause a lot of lag and you'll want another person when you do this to be safe, but don't bother, as it'd be a ton of trial and error.

You need more than one person. The only reliable way to dupe things is to crash the game server during the middle of it saving character files. Basically, anytime a character leaves or enters a game, the server saves all characters in a game (starting with the character who entered/left) and then sequentially through players 1-8; so you need to lag the hell out of the game, have one character leave the game with the item and have the game crash asap so that the character who had the item originally isn't saved and is rolled back to its last save making it so he has the item as well as the person who left. Even with ridiculous amounts of lag (they used to have 8 sorcerers spam-cast Meteor, but blizzard added a delay inbetween casting) the time window is a couple seconds at best, and requires either ridiculous timing, a ton of luck, or bots. My advice is, don't bother. My experience is that it isn't really worth it anyway, more fun to get your own stuff... Me and my friends just got pissed off because everyone else had duped gear, so we figured we shouldn't let them have a competitive advantage. I can't speak for them, but personally it kind of ruined the game for me.

Source: Our website for the tl gw2 guild was offered an advertisement deal by gogodly.com. Upon a broken english discussion, they said noone hacks/lagdupes the game anymore, they use bots. And don't ask, of course we turned it down.

I remember when the last ladder reset occured d2items.com had like 26 ber after something like 13 hours in. They also had a ton of other goldy stuff. It's just plain impossible to do it legitly (bots are somewhat "legit"). I woudlnt be suprised if the owners of theses sites have contacts with the d2 department at blizzard and pay them off or something.
