They are lots of fun and are mildly helpful for playing Starcraft -- I guess it helps out with getting in "the zone". Multitask 2 is also ridiculously harder than the original, and scores are deflated. In original, 100-300 is normal and in the new version 50-100 is normal. Anything above and you are usually Korean or something.
Good luck!
Edit: if you use a different keyboard than QWERTY, there are options to change the keyboard settings.
I got 74. My keyboard cannot process like 5 simultaneous key clicks...anyway to fix it? When I get to 5 minigames, I have to press too many things and my keyboard cannot process it lol
Edit: I'm just gonna stick to the original. 5 games are too much mentally and physically. The original one is better to me because 4 games is the best # and I like the consistency.
Is it bad I misread this as "Mutalisk 2"? This game is pretty hilarious. As soon as I had to use both WASD and arrow keys (come on, WASD is my typing homerow basically) it was over!
I wonder if this does actually help with training your brain to do better at other challenges that require multitasking. I remember reading an article in New Scientist ages ago that said that all these brain training games and programs don't necessarily increase your brain power, but just make you better at the specific tasks in the game.

I suppose it can't hurt.
I also second this. I am skeptical that this will increase my sc2 performance, or just multitasking in general. What it can help you with, is finding a way to learn how to multitask.
Day9 said that APM increases as you remember all the thing you have to do. It's about memory.
I started at about 35 and after like 30 minutes i got 106. It's sometimes annoying when you need to jump with space, jump with shift, balance the ball and use Q&E at the same time :/ As you can see i am not that bad at SC2 and i had really poor success with my first try so it's good to set some goal for yourself like i'll get to 90-100 and see if i can do it with some training. Then you can do the same for SC2, set some goal like money low for first 10 minutes of the game.

100, died on the balancing the ball part just as the 5th game got in, damn i always lose at the ball part. 72 on challange damn that one was hard too -.-! Wtf 61 on switch god damn it that mode is insane o_o!

112 on my first try. I always fail on the up/down arrow one. It's because I can usually let it sit without focusing on it for a long time but then I forget to check up on it every now and then.
84 is my best on challenge.
Edit: Yeah, switch is really hard. I got 49 on my first try.
The 4th game required WASD-keys, and for some reason they didn't work for me.. while this happened I got hit in the face by an arrow in the 2nd game. ;d
Man I loved the original, love you for posting that the sequel is out. Anyone else played Multitask 2 with the music of the original? Couldn't stand the new music after a couple trys :D

ah okay ^^ i just realized that the order of the games isn't fixed - caught me off guard ~.~ instantly closed the explanation and then realized its not the one i expected :x
scored 107, but the spacebar one got the better end of me when I had to juggle it in the middle while doing all the other stuff! funny tiem wasting game!
Edit 119 after a few more tries! consistently scoring 100+!

Spacebar is my hardest game, and WASD is my easiest game.
Some games are significantly harder than the others. I have no idea why is the third game random. It pretty much makes all the score thingy completely pointless.

Not really, since the randomness only matters in the beginning (where you won't die). As you get further into the game it will change so rapidly, and make use of many windows at once - to a degree where the difference between getting 246 or 135 is not very big.
What works for me is to focus attention on the UP/DOWN arrow, SPACEBAR and Q/E games, the other three i dont even look at. Just mind them every few seconds in the corner of my eye. For me UP/DOWN was always the hardest one just because not fucking up on it requires you to watch it alot.
Got 91 in the new one on my third try, but since the space-bar thing was in too at that time along with those 4 others i just ran out of pressable keys at the same time on my keyboard
Think I got the most favorable combination of games with the Q/E one last making the difficulty quite easy.
Read the poll about spacebar being most difficult. I find it quite easy alternating between holding space (hugging roof) and just ignoring space and hugging the ground.
I actually came to this thread because I thought it said "Mutalisk 2". Thanks a lot OP for making this though, I'm sharing this game with all my friends. I've been playing challenge mode, and so far my highest score has been 94. I suck at standard, I can't even fathom doing a 5th or 6th stage lol. The one's I hate the most are the balancing ball and the jumping one.
Awesome! I remember I got something crazy like 300 in the last multitask once after quite some time of practice
first try 51. Then did challenge mode and got 45 than 66. I think overall challenge moe is just as hard or harder though, because even though you do only 3 multitasks, the difficulty increases fast, and you don't have any free easy time where you're only doing 1-2 tasks for a while.
I like challenge mode better, cause I don't like doing 4 at a time >,<
111, I'm feeling pretty good about myself - I only lost because I couldn't remember the "flying thing" hotkey (I think it's space). The one you have to remember when you're on 6 minigames.
So for those who don't know, the first two games in standard mode is always the balancing bar and then avoiding arrows with up/down arrowkeys. After that it's random which ones you get. The 6th game comes up at 100 seconds, and the difficulty increases at 135 and probably increases more and more later on. My highest is 146 now but I do admit I've practised a bit
People need to stop posting about this game, every time I scan the bar on the side of TL.net for new topics I am greeted with "Mutalisk 2". I click every god damn time.
It is very luck based. For me its always unlucky because the blue game will always be second, and thats the one I lose on 90% of the time (mostly because of the random speed of the arrows. I move the bar out of the way, look away for 1 second, and suddenly a super über fast arrow has appeared and killed it).
Pluss the flying thingie is a bitch. Sometimes you can let it rest at the bottom for a minute. Other times you have to keep it perfectly in the middle
BLAST! this game is hard x3! got 53 on standard so far and I've tried like 3 times . The one that really screws me over is the WASD one, that one gives me brain damage.
EDIT: Sweet lord I just tried challenge and got the Balance, the WASD and the QE task.... Scored 11 points >.<
Got 89 after a few tries in the 50s.. The spacebar one I find hardest since you need to prepare most in advance for an obstacle in that one.. And yea, WASD and arrows is a mindfuck.
member of 100+ crew here ^_^ fuck that spacebar game though it's impossible when there's constant top and bottom blockers so you can't just leave it on either side. that one has got to be the one i die the most on oh yeah and 6 games = T_T
easiest has got to be wasd by far, i have never died on it, but i died on every other game at some point
83 after a couple tries. The Q and E game is my weakness personally. I hate it. The rest aren't bad except the blue up and down one once things get faster.
Got 89 in challenge :D (got the q/e game, the wasd game and the up/down game). The switch really messes up with my brain lol... props to whoever can get 100+ in that.
As soon as the game where you have to hit the space bar comes up I have a mini panic attack and everything fails. and how does anyone do the last challenge with the switching games?
fun little minigame. 158 first game today, definitely more used to it now. Not gonna be happy til I hit 200 though, I can definietely play better I'm doing atm. D: <3
I think some people are inflating their scores o_o;; once you get to 5 at once it's quite challenging. I've gotten above 200 in the first one, the second seems much harder, i have not got past 100. 91 is my max and once that 5th one comes in it's quite fucking ridiculous. 160 my assss. 72 on challenge. Things start coming quite fast on challenge at that point.
I seem to be unable to devote constat attention to several things at once. That is, I always fail at the games that require you to be attentive 100% of the time: the ball, the flier...
Cool idea, can't seem to break 60 after 4 tries .. really hard game. Wish it would start off a bit easier to bring our confidences up / let us get more familiar with the controls before adding new tasks.

left/right game: shouldn't really even need to look at it, just adjust as necessary and make sure to overadjust if the ball is too far on one side, not much comments to make here
up/down game: i end up staring on this one the most, not much to say about it, although the different speeds are very annoying and sometimes give you a very short window to switch (aka you have to wait for a slow one to pass but can't wait too long because a fast one is about to hit you.. try to avoid those positions)
WASD game: easiest by far, i just keep WASDing around and hit all the circles while glancing once every like 5 seconds. i can even ignore this game for a while because circles take 10 seconds to disappear and the WASD moves so fast that you can literally look at this game like once every 8 seconds and be okay
QE game: there's quite a bit of leeway in the shape of the circle, you don't have to line it up perfectly. don't be afraid to stop WASDing around completely while you adjust QE because as mentioned previously, ignoring WASD for several seconds isn't gonna do any harm. the only thing to watch out for is if 2 arrows appear at once and you missed which appear first, you'll have to focus on this one a little more to adjust to the right one.
shift game: pretty easy, i think if you hold shift you jump a little bit higher but that fucks up my keyboard with everything else going on (wtb nkro kb pls) so i just tap it
spacebar game: hands-down the most bullshit of the games. the natural strategy is to either not hold space at all (leaving it on the bottom) or hold space and leave it at the top. there's no such thing as 'too small' of a gap, so if you see a gap at either top or bottom, you'll squeeze through. if you see a block that completely touches the bottom, just adjust to the other side. if you see blocks on both sides you're probably losing soon. at least that's my experience. fuck this game
@phayze, im pretty sure he's talking about the first one.
Damn this =( 50ish points my first three games. I'm the PC-gaming nerd who always kick ass at mini games like these but I must be a terrible multitasker!
I keep failing. The annoying part is that it's not because i can't multitask, it's because i keep accidently hitting the tab button which makes my keyboard unresponsive.
game very cool 144 high so far (same as my bw apm!)
Thanks RiGS for bumping, and also for giving me a score to beat! WASD is the only game I can handle, the rest are all hard and take turns making me lose T_T
have any advice? my only trick right now is using right shift to leave my brain a little less confused

Try to focus on all of the games at once. It is very challenging, but certainly possible. If you can only focus on five games at once for now, then I recommend you to avoid the WASD game. Also you should be able to achieve consistently 100+ in challenge mode.
woot first try 277! going to have to play with this more get some gosu scores 277just doesnt seem like a lot but i read some posts here and it is i guess...
It is like saying one handed pull up is not possible just because most people cannot do it. I can assure you it is absolutely possible, but it is hard work, and it takes a lot of consistent practice & time, though I doubt that guy did 277 on his first try.
I think it is totally worth the effort. It is amazing how easily I can switch-tasking at the kitchen while cooking & washing the dishes. I'm literally twice as productive as before. This game is excellent at improving your concentration and increasing your attention span as well. It is also huge for online poker. My speed reading skills improved a lot since I started playing with multitask 1 in November. I also enjoy my expanded vision in my daily activities like driving or when playing football.
The key is to learn how to not to focus on a single game invidually even at though situations, and use your periferal vision instead.
This game is nothing like Starcraft, because it requires real multitasking skills. You need to have a really good periferal vision, and the ability to play those games simultaneously, especially above 135 scores. On the other hand, in Starcraft you need to have a really good memory to remember all the tasks you have to do and rapidly switching between those. That is more like switch-tasking. However I'm sure that, I would do just as well in SC2 if I took the time.
Btw I'm going to shoot a video of me playing once I hit 300.
just got 109. RiGS is right. It takes dedication and time but you'll get higher. Btw this was after like 5 tries and I am already improving a lot. Maybe I'll get a little higher during the night listening to desrows stream :o
First try was just meh, but on the second try I just said to myself "Activate brood war mode." It actually helped a lot, and I had the same feeling as when playing BW too. Gotta play this game more when I get home.
itd help if the buttons for the game were located on the keyboard similarly to where it is on the screen. using arrowkeys for the top left game and wasd for the bottom right is kinda disorienting. keeping track of it all i was fine tho.
Hey there, I played it for like 2 days and my best score atm is 115. To see how it went check out my video at:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GW-1Oq6U9HU
