Steam store bugged out when I wanted to buy it, support even answered in time to fix it, but they just gave me a bullshit response. Then again a bullshit response and then they told me that they couldn't give me the game for 5€ now. D: im pretty sure its going to be on a daily/flash sale again, be patient Edit: isnt tomorrow last day or today ?

You just have a account page and can download your games on your pc without having to install a management plattform like steam. But if you rather wait just to take all the casualties that steam brings with it, then ok, just wanted to help. ![]()

Why are people so scare of a platform that has been stable for years and years backed up by a massive massive company and the assurance that if steam ever closes you can download all the games on it beforehand. plus if you really are so paranoid you can crack everything but the multiplayer games on it Oo

First of, I got 2 steam accs hacked back in the day. I never got hacked anywhere else. Never. And I have like 1 billion accs. Secondly, DRM, you can't do shit with your games. And last but not least, some games are really buggy and don't get fixed in the steam client. KotoR for example bugs out every few minute (it fixes me in my follower and I can't move. Skyrim and Nuclear Dawn suddenly don't start anymore (going in starting screen and then just close). All the solutions that the steam support provided me didn't help at all and now they sent me off the tech support of said games... It may be that other people don't have problems with steam and that's nice. But there are more possible problems that might occur with such plattforms than if you have the games separate. If it just comes down to plattforms, then yes, steam is really good. I would, for example, never buy anything on Origin, even if it's exclusive. For steam I reduced to what I buy there to what is exclusive to steam for the above mentioned reasons.

If steam closes you get the games without DRM and if it really bothers you there are a million and one cracks to remove it. 3)Steam is of course not responsible for problems you have in the game itself. now if you don't want to use steam that's fine. something about freedom of choice. But don't start talking about 'casualties' lol.

That one was a weakness in steam. End of discussion. 2) Blabla cracks. I rather buy my games elsewhere and don't have to crack. Websites with said cracks counting to dubious websites that might lead to keyloggers or the likes. But thanks for suggesting. 3) Believe me or not, but they are when I can't run them without the steam client. The starting problem is probably a one that occured just because someting with the general client changed. I mean, I never changed anything with these games and they just suddenly stop working. Of course it's not steams responsibility. Now, if you want to use steam, do it. I just say I wouldn't and when I talk about casualties it's not a matter of if they exist or not, it's about if you can live with them or not. If you can, that's perfectly fine. I can't and I voice that (where is the problem? you asked why the hate for steam is there, I just answered). Even if I warn people they are supposed to think for themselves if they want to go the route I go or if they are fine with the way it is.
