There is a lot of crap on steam. You just don't have to buy it. If you buy bad games you are at least partially to blame for that yourself.
Especially in the case of War Z, where there is a giant "metascore 20" on the right side. No matter what you think about metacritic, a score of 20% should really make you at least investigate the game a bit more before buying.
And then you might notice that for the same money as the smallest of the premium packages you could get the Witcher 2. If you notice that, and still buy WarZ, you are quite obviously a fool and deserve what you get.

Guess game publishers can do whatever they want, enough idiots will always buy their crap. Wow... I can't believe so many people are eating up that shit!

For a sec I thought War Z was the Arma Mod (It's actually Day Z, right?) and I almost bought it (being stupid again because Day Z is a free mod). The TERRIBLE low metascore saved-me. But really, how people are buying this game if the metascore is sooo low?

be careful, the GoG DK2 version didnt run very well for me and also crashed a lot, i had to download some torrent that somehow hacked the directx device detection, enabling hardware rendering and fixing all crashes.
I havent tried my theme hospital yet, i hope it works!
Also, if you like space flight games, freespace 2 is the very best game, it had its sourcecode released and people made a modern gfx overhaul and also made huge amount of mods. In most mission you fly something ranging from a scout ship up to big bombers, often ypu have a squat to command. The battles feature huge capital ships, it conveis a really good feeling of being part of an actual battle while not being the godcommander. Sometimes you hav to fly bombruns to deactivate capital lasers or you can decide its better to let your quat be bombers and you protect them with air superiority fighters. Sometimes you have to fly interceptors to defend your own ships, sometimes you have to scout etcetc.

Torchlight is free on gog.com, if you havent tried it yet this is proooobbbably a good opportunity.

Guys Baldur's Gate is 50% off on GoG, just wondering is it worth playing the first before the second? I get the feeling the second is much better.
|
The second is indeed much better, but both are very good games. There is some overlap between the stories, and i think BG2 spoils quite a bit of BG1 (I don't remember when certain things were revealed in BG1 which are told to you right at the start of BG2. So if you want to play both, play 1 before 2 if at all possible. If you get annoyed by 1, play 2 instead. Also, no matter which one you choose, make sure to get a widescreen mod. All other mods are optional, but you really don't want to play games in 640:480 in 2013, and with the way BG was made they scale surprisingly well to higher resolutions.

There are a couple mods that put BG1 into the BG2 engine and let you play them in sequence. This is probably the best way to play them.

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to get them both then and play BG1 with the BG2 engine.

The Witcher's "updated and improved" PC edition introduced a lot of bugs, graphical issues, and lag, unfortunately. Still probably worth a buy.

Humble Bundle Android 6 is live, pay what you want for Stealth Bastard Deluxe, Organ Trail, Aquaria, Fractal, Pulse and beat the average to get Frozen synapse and Broken Sword: Directors Cut.

I've played Synapse and it's a pretty cool squad strategy game, it had a pretty neat mechanic of previewing the move you were gonna make which made the multiplayer matches drag on for quite a while but the core of the gameplay was great, I recommend it if you are into strategy games like X-Com. Reviews
Fractal, it's a pretty relaxing puzzle game at first, it's kinda like a match 3 game with a pushing mechanic. You do not actually put blocks on the board you just push the blocks that are already on it a spot in which ever direction it's line goes. I've finished it, it's nice and it works really well with touch controls. Reviews
Overall if you pay over the average you really do get great value for your android device, if you don't you also get great value. of course you get steam keys with all the games that are on steam, along with drm free versions and android versions.

Looking at ebay can also help for those titles, i think i got BG1+2 for 1€ once, because i apparently had lost my cds when i moved.

Hmm I'm not really in a hurry so I guess I can wait until the GamersGates deals pop up. I actually have a lot of coins saved up so I may even get it for free.

so my copy of theme hospital from GoG isnt working properly as well, the gamespeed is way too fast.
So im very disappointed, i thought the whole point of that site is to make games playable on new systems, but they arent doing a good job of that at all. When i download a torrent it works better than their versions.... Cant reccomend that site. At least on steam i can be sure that the game runs on win7 or it has a big orange warning.

Hmm i might pick up System Shock 2 i never played the game and recently became interested after watche a nostalgie Let's Play that showed of a bit gameplay/ beginnings of the story.
Jagged Alliance 2 is also on sale . Probably my favorite game of all time . I don't even know how many times i played through that game ( ~50 times i reckon ) and how much fun the different merchs are and how hillarious their interactions are . Still have my discs lying around though so no need to get it again . Still the pinnacle of turn-based tactics by FAR especially with the 1.13 mod . Man i was so dissapointed with Back in Action last year not worthy of the title Jagged Alliance .
