This game and Uncharted 3 are what keep my faith up in the gaming industry. In-game graphics that look better than most FMVs and still games that let you play every epic sequence. Production value and staying true to ideals - that's what's gonna keep the blockbuster games in business in a world gravitating towards an appstore format. (I would include The Last Guardian but nothing was shown on Gamescom, surprise surprise) | ||

(Incidentally, the girl here was born a man, suffered from gender identity disorder, and had a sex change operation -- not really relevant, but some of the youtube comments were saying she's a man, so I looked it up. And please be forgiving of her voice -- it's Japan, that's just how a lot of women talk over here -.-) Really looking forward to this, it comes out next week Thursday here. In anticipation I started playing Demon's Souls again, though, and I'm kind of in the middle of things, so not sure if I'll get it right away. | ||

I've played about five hours so far, and yeah... After you play through Demon's Souls and know what you're doing, it starts to feel really easy and you think you're pretty badass, but playing Dark Souls from the start, knowing almost nothing going in, it's pretty brutal -.- I've already had several cursing-loudly-at-the-TV moments, and of course plenty of deaths. The open world is pretty interesting and definitely adds some difficulty imo. Just exploring, looking for where I can go to next, I've come across treasures / items, NPCs, paths that lead off to places I don't know if I should go to yet or not, strong enemies that I barely managed to kill, and strong enemies that just absolutely destroy me, repeatedly and mercilessly >.> Want to keep playing, but it's time to sleep -.- | ||

Having watched quite a few hours of streaming, there were glitches ranging from monsters disappearing (the streamer shot a dragon, it went to fly off and probably due to the area not being loaded, just disappeared/died) to freezing up every hour or so. | ||
