Oh I didnt mean it as in realism, I meant for game balance that without the red triangle shotguns at mid-long range mostly dont hit/just take away some hit points without killing the guy (the one hit kills are from headshots which are made easy by the red triangle above enemies). In my experience anyway, I may be wrong here. | ||

You have obviously never played BFBC2 or BF3. I played the hell out of BC2 and while in the beginning a lot of people used the shotty with the range upgrade, most of them realized after about 2 weeks that a sniper was 100x better. Anything longer than the range in the video and it gets very hard to hit someone with, and even on hardcore mode it's not a 1-hit kill from a certain distance (source: I only play hardcore mode in BC2). | ||

That's just broken. its called a slug. read up, shotguns aren't long range but they have range... not to mention most guns in bf3 kill fast. | ||

Slug shotguns have much more utility, you can use them at ridiculous range and still storm mcoms effectively, which you cant with the sniper rifles due to different scopes. The slug shogun also has an advantage because it has virtually no bullet drop, even at ranges where the sniper rounds drop by like 4 in game feet. Also the slug shotgun is 1 hit kill at all ranges on HC, ive gotten kills into attacker spawn from the cliff on atica harbour area 1 without headshotting. | ||
