Finish the credits, and you get the new game plus option, if you play through that you'l hear a lot of references to "I remember doing this before, feels like i've seen him before/etc", that basically tell you that reverting the calamity is doomed to repeat itself and living in the damaged world is the only possible non-repeating ending.
+ Show Spoiler +i'm very glad of this, i picked the new life one to avoid the endless loop of fighting. the pic for that looked really nice, they're all on a flying ship really high up with sails and stuff. also zia sounded pretty into me, you know? could be adam+eve all over again (though i guess for genetic diversity it'd be best to have each of the guys sire some children)

just bought this game today, played it for awhile and what really stood out was the amazing soundtrack. it really makes the whole experience immersive and impressive.

Same here, I just finished the game. It was very good for an indie game.
The story was great, the layout of the game was very fun. The soundtrack was beautiful. I put it on my music player and I emailed the artist to praise his work.
I'm playing on New Game Plus, all the idols are active and I'm using the hammer and either the shotgun or the mortar.
The hammer is so freaking powerful, I'm breezing through bosses.
As for the shotgun, if you upgrade the knockback to the maximum, you can punt every enemy you find off the level. It was very useful with the ninjas at the end of the game.

I bought this with the recent Midweek Madness on Steam (50 % off), and I am loving it! I don't really know whats going on story-wise yet, but the combat is pretty fun and the game/soundtrack are amazing. My girlfriend saw me playing it and said "wow, thats really pretty". Indie games are always so refreshing. I love it!

picked this up and sale and finished it recently, was great. the combat was pretty weak in that they don't give you reason enough to use all the power given to you, but the narration and overall presentation made it worthwhile.

No reason to use the power? Have you tried to play with idols on?
You need those powerups to survive when more than 4 idols are active unless you are hardcore pro at this game. Some enemies are downright impossible on higher difficulty without armor pircing - just to mention one needed upgrade.

played it and loved it. not very long game though..
btw the soundtrack is not your classic game soundtrack, but its still one of the best ive heard..

They just announced DLC content coming out for the game. Its free on Steam but $1 on XBL since microsoft doesn't alow free stuff on their marketplace. The DLC is called The Stranger's Dream and will include: The Stranger’s Dream DLC includes: · The Stranger’s Dream: a new fully narrated Who Knows Where sequence, bigger and more challenging than the others. You’ll gain a bit more insight into Rucks’ backstory as well as the history of Caelondia if you can survive this fight. · Score Attack Mode: a challenging new way to play through the story! You start at level one with all Spirits and Idols unlocked. Your combat performance is rated for efficiency, and all areas are repeatable. · No-Sweat Mode: for those who just want to experience the story of Bastion, this mode provides unlimited chances to carry on from where you left off if you’re defeated in battle.
Looking forward to it! Source:http://supergiantgames.com/?p=1212

This game is so awesome. I don't care what you have to gripe on about the game, the controls, the repetetive combat, nothing of that even matters to me. This game is one of the most enjoyable experiences I have EVER had sitting in front of this little illuminated piece of garbage we call a computer screen. It. Is. Just. Too. Much. FUN.
Go play it. Right. Now.
Hypnotoad compels thee.

I completely agree with this post. My #1 game of 2011 (though Trine 2 might come close)!

Just pick it up a few days ago with the steam promo. Awsome game, i just started the second playthrought with all idols actived, and it's a blast to finaly play a difficult game in 2011.
|
Still my GOTY 2011, can't wait for the dlc.
|
The Free DLC is available for those on the steam version of the game \o/
|
this is actually one of the best action rpgs i've ever played go buy it now!
|
Wow I'm excited to try this free downloadable content
Also I'd like to support the defences of the game's difficulty. The idol system lets you make it as hard as you want. Even better, it lets you make it hard in a way which suits your playing style. Personally I don't like games being hard because enemies take ages to kill, but quite enjoy it being hard because they can kill me easily. It's easy to use the settings to achieve this.
|
unfortunately I didn't wait until the PC version came out so I have the 360 version and have to pay a dollar to get the DLC, and not till next week :\
thanks microsoft

Mhh, so I bought this game with the christmas sale, I'm not really into solo games, but I was looking for something to relax when SC2 and LoL makes me rage to hard, ended up getting hooked and finishing it in a few days. excellent game :D
I see you guys talking about a DLC, but I cant find it on steam, was it already included with the game since I bought it after DLC release? or is it not available anymore? or am I just retarded and unable to find it?

On Steam the DLC is automatically included, you don't need to download anything new.
