That aside, already in a guild on Jagged Coast, and apparently CAD is there also, so ah well.
I think moreso than crystals, the potions will be more valuable. As it was, you could get ample potions from the Eggs, but now having to craft them will raise their price (the materials for crafting aren't cheap) and they're quite useful for pvp
The vendor doesn't sell all types of crystals, and doesn't sell the improved versions either.
The basic, white, leveling crystals (MP and HP regen) will be what most people will use for a while so we'll need to wait until the middle of the leveling wave hits 60 to see where the prices end up.

Does anyone know if the guide for adjusting the .ini files still apply to retail? If so, do I need to launch and actually play the game before some of these settings will be available? The .ini files in my install directory have nothing close to the options listed in the tweaks, but I just pre-ordered and installed a few hours ago, so I've never launched/played the game.

Not all of the flags are present within the ini file but can be added to them anyway.
That being said if you cant find any of them then you have probably opened the wrong file. Follow the exact path I listed.
C:\Users\Public\Games\TERA\Client\S1Game\Config
I suppose it is possible that the game needs to be run once to generate the file.

Pretty sure it doesn't. I had to delete and reinstall my Tera and I'm 99% sure I made the changes before ever running the game.

Then there you go. Probably just looking at the wrong ini file.

have you tested composite dynamic lights? because you say this:

but the blog post you linked says:
CompositeDynamicLights= This setting simplifies dynamic lights, and by doing so, supposedly increases performance. I saw no visual difference between this being on or off, which is a good thing. So I recommend turning it on. Higher FPS with no visual difference is a good thing.

Ok not sure what happened, but until I clicked the play button and tried to launch the game, I had no files in my config folder with the "s1" prefix. Time to start editing.

Tanking in this game, much like every other class is vey different from normal tanking. You don't just spam taunts. Actually I'm not even sure if there are taunts. It's moderately fun, the dps is kinda low for solo leveling but you also dont have to sit around and heal as much after fights.

There are taunts, that's how the lancer pulls bosses/mobs towards him and not the squishes. What's unique is the unit collision, since you can't stack people/mobs, if a lancer say, tanks a boss attack, you can actually hide behind the lancer to not take damage. Lancer is pretty hard imo because he is the one that decides how many mobs the party can handle at once/make sure the party survives through the boss while priest resurrects people or what not.

I hate this game. Its so good it destroyed normal mmo's for me. I can't play any of the ones I used to play for fun now since the beta weekend. So now I'm stuck grinding 10-15 more games a day in sc2 because I have nothing more to do haha. Wish I could buy it :/. Hope everyone has fun .

Nice catch. Thats all you bro.
Too bad I can't change the guide in the OP or anything. Im not sure if Mods can grant me access to the OP either to maintain it. Even though I would request it in a heartbeat.

Tanking works on some sort of rolling window so tanks can always get back on threat if killed or removed from the fight for a little while.
Aggro is a little differently as well. Heals are crazy threat with lock on heals doing like quad threat or something. Instead Mystic and Priest are encouraged to use the ball mechanic and circle mechanic respectively.
There are no taunts, but there are shouts which give a ton of threat. The rolling window mechanic is unclear, with people saying that attacks from a priest or mystic can help push high threat heals off the table, but I am skeptical. Empirical evidence is hard to glean info from in this game sometimes.

Ah yeah. Had a feeling. Glad you found it.

With en masse saying that editing the ini is actionable, are people on na tera still going to be tweaking their performance? or playing on stock
