What I would criticize about it is how the player empasize worked. Like with the start, I really thought kdj was the best smash player, but during the documentary it seems like he (and m2 and pc) was really great, is really hyped up, then after a short amount of time they just disappear and are replaced by mango. But I loved the ken and isai part. It made me really feel for them and even cheer for them (almost 10 years too late) As someone who has been following the scene for a few years, but not those "old days" it was just amazing to see how these old school players came into the smash scene and I too was cheering for them late lol. I always heard their names but knew nothing of them and this documentary just helped tremendously know who these dudes are. They really hyped up KDJ but just went all the wrong ways with ending his story lol. Also sad they didn't show how Armada came out of fucking nowhere and just showed how amazing he was. Especially that match where he adapted like a motherfucker against M2K. Overall this documentary was really beautiful.. I just got sucked in with so many emotions lol it truly shows how powerful a community can support their game alone for so long.

Apparently samox wanted to go more in-depth with Armada and Dr. Peepee, but money and time restraints (particularly with Armada) prevented that from happening. Which is too bad -- Armada takes up a way more significant part of Mango's story than Hungrybox does IMO, and was more important for Smash as a whole as well. I also wish Azen had consented to being interviewed ![]()

I really recommend to anyone interested, to go ahead and look up either Peepee's interviews, his analysis of him vs. Armada on Melee It On Me's Smash Lab episode, or his two reddit AMAs. Dude plays Smash so cerebrally it's really cool to get his insight on stuff.

The obvious thing to do is to search them against each other, and against the other members of the Big Five (Mango, Mew2King, and Hungrybox). Especially noteworthy ones that come to mind are: Armada - vs. Mango: pretty much every set of theirs is amazing, can't really go wrong - vs. Mew2King: probably the first time they played (Genesis 1?), people were super surprised Armada could even compete - vs. Hungrybox: if you have lots of spare time - vs. PP: Apex 2013 GFs, Smasher's Reunion GFs, and EVO quarters are my favourites Others: SilentSpectre, Westballz's Falcon @ EVO Dr. Peepee - vs. Mango: personally not a fan of Falco dittos, but they have a ton of those. Kings of Cali 1, Impulse, etc. For Falco vs. Fox they played that at EVO and probably other stuff but I can't think of it atm - vs. Mew2King: Zenith 2012, The Big House 3, S@X (he plays Marth here against M2K's Marth and Sheik and it's amazing) - vs. Hungrybox: Zenith 2013, TBH3

There barely would be any drama etc either because Koreans are Koreans.

I pretty much focused on Mango because I played Jiggy. I watched some Chu and some MOTHER FUCKING WOBBLES because I also play Ice Climbers. Can't wait to see some more at Evo.

Armada didn't enter singles (but won teams). Android got 2nd and Rocky 4th (my practice partners) and I got 17th even though we always go super close. Never underperformed so much before. At least me and Android got 4th in teams, but we kinda fucked up there too, aimed for 2nd at least. Oh well.

Been watching plenty of recent smash, absolutely loving it. I really enjoy seeing Wobbles rape people so I hope he keeps going in the next big tournaments. I thought it was a real disappointment when they banned infinite grabs. Why would you ban a move of a character just because it's overpowered? It's like banning shines or tippers. The game should be played as is, with no bans, or it doesn't count! Wobbles retired after EVO ![]() Wobbling used to be banned pretty regularly but now it's really on a TO-by-TO basis. The ICs still aren't an amazing character even with them so I'm pretty firmly in wobbling's favour, but I could see why people would want it removed.
