but yeah M2K also says he's the only player who knows how to edgeguard, so you know, w/e I watched a lot of Taj/Axe streaming today; Taj is still godlike, JV4ing Axe's Pika with Mewtwo  | ||

Why does everyone uses fox instead of falco? (only few use falco) And the same with Marth-Roy. I remember that when i used to play, falco was just like fox, just a little heavier i think, but faster/stronger f i remember correctly. And that Roy was basically an overpowered version of Marth, because he had the same moveset, but was way way stronger. So why don't people use them? | ||

Main thing about Roy is the sweet spot on his sword is near the hilt and not the tip of the blade. In high level competitive play spacing is incredibly important and when Roy has to get up in someone's face to use his strongest attacks, he's likely to get punished for it. Marth can attempt a full range tipper and even if he misses he's in less danger than Roy and it's easier to get into position. Falco is actually considered the second best character in the game by most and is played plenty. Fox and Falco actually have pretty different playstyes. Roy has very few moves that are stronger than Marth's  Maybe his sweetspot upb is stronger, and I guess close hits are stronger... but his aerials, especially, are a lot worse; his fair's knockback, for example, is commonly compared to that of a wet noodle. Not sure why you think he's stronger. | ||

People used to use Falco quite a bit, and he's always occupied one of the top 4 slots in the tier list. His stock has gone down a bit with only a handful of top Falcos left for whatever reason, but he's still a great character. Roy is just awful, one of the worst characters in the game with pretty much no upside. - He falls faster. Easier to combo and worse recovery. - His strong hitboxes are at the hilt where Marth's are at the tip. However, Marth's weak hits (hilt) can combo into things, while Roy's weak hits (tip) don't do anything except put Roy into lag. - Marth has aerials that do things: juggle, combo, and kill. Roy's aerials, sweetspotted or not, all do jack shit. They don't combo until like 100% and don't kill until 300%. - He's slower. - He's not stronger either. Still love playing him though. | ||

boy is this game bad edit for clarity: Basically, I pretty much agree with all of the criticisms directed at it so far. 1. Lack of movement options/slow - I'm not looking for wavedash again but any kind of new movement option would have been nice. Instead they actually removed options from dash, so even though tripping is gone now, dashing still sucks. Which is pretty obviously bad and shouldn't require any further explanation. 2. Landing lag - Maybe that new equipment thing found that reduces it will "fix" the problem, but come on, if you require stuff like that just to make the game playable there's a problem. Early autocancel aerials are the only way to go. 3. Shield OP/No approach - I won all my matches pretty much by having people hit my shield. There was no way to approach except on a hard read on a roll unless they were really really bad. There's not enough shieldstun and it recovers way too quickly. 4. "Combos" - Don't really exist. Super disappointing yet expected all at once | ||
