I'm ok giving up major in piano performance, I don't think it would be for me anyways. But teaching band? Not stressful, I get to take all these fun music classes in college, you work like 180 days a year, you can do other things (like practice!) in the summer and on breaks and perform place, and I can tell kids about how to prepare for college so they don't mess up. Plus if I teach in a richer district like mine I can make $60-70k, which isn't bad for a fun job with lots of health/retirement stuff.

And I can still take private lessons from piano professors at the college meaning it's like the same thing as majoring in piano performance Except I have an actual degree i can get a job with vs something that just shows that I "practiced hard" and "might be good enough to play some gigs" lol.

One thing that's remotivated me is that I found out marasy (touhou piano dude) actually isn't a performance major neither, despite how good he is. Though it is likely he is studying music education ^^
