Looks nice but what i love about median is the completely new skill trees for all characters, uberquests and other challenges wich give a rich gameplay experience where everyone can find something for himself.
I don't want to discredit this mod but if you want to advertise it create a new thread so more people can learn about it.

What makes ZyEl great though is the sheer amount of content and tinkering, learning crafting recipes for the cube is crucial. It's also very hard, for example, in the beginning you can't even kill the skeletons outside of the starting camp, even killing a quill boar is a challenge.
Also i did you actually played median ? because i dare to think that median has a lot more of what you described, although in recent patches it became somewhat easy but still way harder than original.
Yupp, me and my mate here at the office gave it a good go a year or so back. It was cool that they had modified the skill trees, but if I recall correctly I think the largest problem IMO was that it still was a bit flat. What I really like about ZyEl is that there's so much to tinker with, and as you learn how the recipes flows together and how everything works it becomes so much better.
If you've ever wanted to play this mod, now is a better time than ever. A couple days ago, the final version of Median XL Ultimative was released. This is a mod of the Median XL mod, for which development has been put on hold indefinately:
BrotherLaz (Median XL Developer) While I may not be making more MXL patches, there's a chance I'll have one of two kinds of other good news (not Skyrim related) in a few weeks.
Basically, this mod takes an already difficult Diablo 2 mod and kicks it up a notch, adding more monsters, items, uberquests, difficulty, and much much more. Specifically, here are some of its new features:

You should come play Ultimative on D2Maniacs server.
There is now a new realm with 6 servers hosting, much more stable than d2maniacs - run by the owner/creator of mxl ultimative (marconecrox). its called the sin war 2 (tsw2) and if anybody is playing or would like to play my account online there is ben- and my account on their website (medianxl.com) is also ben-
Played tons of mxl around 2009-2010 and been dropping into mxl every now and then. Still the best d2-like experience to date! Also remember marconecrox, awesome guy! Might pick it up again

Anyone want to play on this server? I've been playing quite a lot recently
Trying out the D2 mods like Median XL is an itch I'd like to scratch, but first need to locate a copy of D2LoD. I only really discovered this genre with Path of Exile, and realized that the type of game I loved playing as a kid was still alive (Secret of Mana). It's time to go back to the roots. Is the cheapest D2 out there the 10$ D2 + 10$ D2 LoD from Blizzard's site?
