Went to see this live with Klogon today, but here's the interview since you guys actually care about that, before I go on to my ramblings.
Fighterforum.com interview with FireBatHero (Lee Seong-eun)
This is your first time reaching the semi-finals I’m happy that I got to a position where I can look towards winning the whole tournament. When I look back on the road to the semis, it makes me feel even better.
Your opponent was Savior, how did you prepare The Proleague and the individual leagues are both important. I placed a lot of importance on this game, so I was up until 5am for the last few days. Usually there aren’t many people to practice against if you play that late, so I thank Odin[gm], ZergMan(?), Lee Jae Hwang, and Yoo Jun Hee from my team, and Kim Jae Chun from Pantech.
You made a huge comeback in game 1 If Savior had kept attacking me when I lost my main, the game would have been over. However, since he was in such a good situation, he took it easy for a while. I lifted all my buildings and started a new base thinking that I’d at least give my hands something to do. But Zerg didn’t have as many resources as I had thought, and it turned out that I was able to harvest more resources and win. I use battlecruisers a lot in casual practice games, and when used together with medic restoration, it’s difficult for Zerg to handle them. So I went for a combination of many BCs, vessels, and medics.
You lost quite easily on Loki My build on Loki was really good. After I pushed out after taking my natural, I thought I was in a good position. I had scouted him going guardians, but he didn’t attack for a long time. So I decided to move out, which ended up with me losing. I was stupid ford doing that, since I would have had the advantage if I had just waited longer in my base.
Your timed rush in game three was notable I think Savior made a mistake on Desperado. I kept killing his defilers with science vessels, and he went straight to ultralisks even though he didn’t have enough defilers. It would have been a tough game with defilers.
You lost game 4 without much of a fight Even though my early strategy failed, I wasn’t in a bad situation. The game could have gone either way from there. However, I got careless after stopping the first hydralisk attack. Also, switching to tanks too quickly made me lack the troops to properly defend. After my natural was destroyed, there was just no way.
You used a 3 barracks ‘sparks’ rush in the last game That was actually my build order for game 1. I sent out 2 SCVs in game one as well, but I saw Savior go 9 pool so I changed my plan. In a way, I was able to save the strategy for game 5. I watched a lot of Savior’s VODs, and learned even his most minor habits. I figured out the patterns in which he sends his overlords out to scout, so I knew he wouldn’t go all the way to the natural. Also, if his zerglings don’t confirm a fast CC, he sends them all across the map to look for hidden buildings, so I had that in mind. I also hoped that the positions would be good. If Savior had started at 2:00, I might have been found out.
Weren’t you nervous? I was very intimidated during game 1. My hands shook a lot. After a certain point though, I was able to become calm. I was able to move my hands more naturally and I felt better. From game two and forth, I was able to play like I normally do.
Your ceremony today was quite striking I saw Zeus’ ceremony yesterday. It was quite ‘broad.’ I wanted to use a large space as well. The dance I did at the end didn’t go as I planned. I wasn’t sure if I was facing the crowd or my opponent. I wanted to practice by watching some videos before the game, but I kept getting activex errors so I couldn’t. Also, my manager was backstage so I couldn’t practice there either. So it ended up looking pretty weird. I hope you don’t mind that dance at the end (laughs). I’ll prepare a better ceremony for the semi-finals.
You defeated a lot of strong opponents to make it to the semi-finals. I feel like I had to play the best. It strengthened my resolve, as I thought I should do my best against such top class players. It’s fun to play against good players. I focused a lot on keeping control of my nerves. I was determined to win.
Who would you prefer as an opponent in the semi-finals I hope Stork wins. First off, it would ensure one player from Samsung enters the finals. Second, I’ve never had to play vs Stork in a series. I think we’ll have some fun games.
A short word on your resolutions for the MSL Up till today, I played against mostly terrans. Because of that some people said “Wow, that guy is really good at terran,” while others said “That guy is good at only terran vs terran.” So I prepared very hard for this game with Savior. If Stork wins his match, I want to work hard so I can win the MSL after beating all three races.
Any final words? The Dcinside(A large Korean internet community) gamers gallery made a banner for me today. I’d like to thank them so much for that. I felt like I was being cheered for. I think I had a good result today because of the fans watching live and at home. My mother and brother are behind me 100%, and I hope I can repay their support in the future.
FireBatHero's ceremony was hilarious, Savior didn't show much emotion afterwards. He has the same expression most of the time anyway. After he lost game one, he did have a kind of bitter smile. Completely blank after game five though. Crowd support was pretty strongly in Savior's favor, though FBH had a pretty strong contingent of hardcore fans who would yell out some amusing things "FBH is SEXY!"
After the game, there were a handful of girls crying in each other's arms, I guess they were Savior fans. I guess I should have expected it, though it still surprises me after years of watching Boxer and his fangirls.
omg wax <3 you should know better than this and not spoil the winner in the thread title, I renamed it so we don't get 1023120 kids complaining about spoilers
Savior should have pulled his chair out right in FBH's groin and the proceed to wrestle his ass down for doing that arm-flapping shit pretty much right in Savior's face.
This is seriously getting ridiculous... When will we see any cheerleader gay's men dancing with mini skirts... This was even gayer than the one chalrenge did. Entertaining ? Yeah right... Embarrassing would be the proper word.

Thanks for the interview Waxangel!
The ceremony wasn't all THAT bad, but the runaround was really odd. He looked really happy after that victory and I think EVERYONE else would be.(I mean, how many Terrans can beat Savior in a BO5?) It looks like it was bad mannered but I don't think he was trying to be BM.
i dont think he intended to humiliate savior by walking around him, he just wanted to run around and there's not much area? i dont think he did it as a sort of BM move and I doubt savior took it that way

i have to agree, these ceremonies are getting each time more annoying. I'm not saying you cant do something "special" after you won but now it is absolutely ridiculous. And running around Savior then doing this stupid dance in front of him after a cheese in the last game of bo5 is disrespectful.
Ceremonies are fun when they are done occasionally and being somewhat clever and fun, not when the same guy is doing some goofy shit after every single win he gets.
It's like meh, i've seen that stuff 83492702 times now and it's nothing special anymore.
sAviOr T.T Fbh is cool and all but sAviOr is my #3 most favorite player ever. I really hope he takes home another osl title though. Since sAviOr is out of MSL I think it will be a FBH vs Bisu final and I will judge that result after I see him play Stork.

dude
maybe u should go play something else where people dont trash talk or get excited when they win
seriously.. i dont understand why u guys hate on all the stupid ceremonys ... they are just clownin around man... (the only one i really dislike is MIDAS.. hes just retarded)
I’ll prepare a better ceremony for the semi-finals.
I'm not joking when I say, I hope this punk never wins another game. This ceremony non-sense is getting out of hand, with each new one being lamer than the last.
LOL A ceremony is 15 seconds of embarassment and a chance for a player to do something besides sit down, set up the comp, un-set-up the comp, and leave the stage. If you get pissed at a player after his 20 minute show of pure 300 apm rape to shake his ass, stretch, and brag, you are simply a bitter player hater.
DONT BE HATIN PLAYA. But I am so disgustingly sad... really. FBH IS STRONG, but Savior was supposed to win.

The way he ran around Savior was totally unacceptable.
They are PRO-gamers, live up to that professionalism -_-;;
You know, I don't think sAviOr minded the ceremony as much as you guys are. There was something about the two of them talking amiably after the match completed.
The Bo5 was amazing and neither of them had anything to be ashamed for. They were 5 great games.

Yes, and pro footballers should stop all their antics when they score a goal. It's totally BM to the goalkeeper.
How come no one pointed out what the ceremony was supose to be? His dance at the end was supose to be the 저질댄스 (pervert dance) that was popularized by 노홍철 (No Hong Chul). I'll try to find a video... but my fucking internet is a POS so I cant right now.
The running around savior part was pretty BM though.
A simple strong fist ceremony, or more like a gesture, is still the best imo. Simple, classic, strong, and shows good spirit. All this silly ceremonies are getting really stupid o.O
thanks for interview, i like FBH's answering style, and he played impressively even though i was rooting for savior.
as for ceremonies, i share hot bids opinion. they add spice to the game, you could feel it throughout this bo5 that savior and FBH's personalities are an explosive mix and it made the games much more tense, and an extravagant ceremony that much more fitting.
I don't get how people can consider something as goofy-looking as this dance bm The guy couldn't intimidate anyone if he's dressed up like an ultralisk, let alone when he's smiling and doing the pervert-dance.

The dance itself is nowhere near BM but when he brushed up against savior and had to run around him while savior was coping with the loss, that's a tad disrespectful if you ask me.
If i would have lost a quarterfinal to a guy i certainly wouldn't want him running around me cheering and doing his dance, if he would have just stayed away from savior while doing whatever, i'm sure nobody would have cared.

Exactly.
There's nothing wrong with being happy you won, or god forbid showing some real emotion, but these rehearsed "ceremonies" are disingenuous and played out. If this one was any indication, they are now beginning to cross the line between celebration and disrespect to one's opponent.
It's even worse that he beat him with a proxy. I'm not saying there's anything gay about the way he played, but it's not like he finished the series with an hour long war like the first game.

1. Nothing wrong with celebrations. Who here wants to argue that Korean pro gamers are overly expressive after games? It's about time these guys showed a bit of personality. The entire pro gaming scene is, after all, about entertaining people.
2. Nothing wrong with celebrations. That he didn't execute the Pervert Dance properly is what pisses me off. That would have been one for the ages.
3. I think people should lay off FBH. The celebrations are special requests from his fans and he does it out of appreciation for their support. Leave the man be. Yeah, it's gimmicky but I find it rather endearing. And I fucking hate Terran players.
4. Wax, are you finished school already (as in graduated)? Has it been four years already?
5. Hi, Klogon. Whatcha up to in Korea?
6. Glad somebody finally implemented the Power Rankings. Very cool feature - except it's missing FBH. The guy is spontaneously combusting right now and needs to be in the top 5. Got the right fellow in the numero uno spot though.
