Zest played quite well today in the olimoleague final. He beat Innovation 2-0 but then lost to Dark 2-3 after loosing the first 2 games. I'm just a bit afraid. I hope he trained well against Protoss because dear seems to be on fire!

Dear is usually a sub par PvP player. He made his name at PvZ though, and hence the "upset" in group B. I see no challenge for Zest in Ro8.

Zest is still the GOAT PvPer, and has never lost to Dear in a series. Hopefully he keeps his record going

As you say HYPE!

I am pretty satisfied with this season, 2 RO8 in a row is a nice start and except Katowice (the only real hiccup of the year for now I would say) it looks like he has regained a bit of consistancy.
Now the bracket looks good with no zerg left in the tournament, can he take on Dear though?
Historically PvP has been Zest best mu and Dear's worst even thoug as of late Zest has not looked that good in the match up. In term of head to head record Zest is also hugely ahead.
Thus I like to think he can and I honestly think he does as long as he plays to his strenghts and not like he's fcking $o$ or something :p

Anyway can't wait to see these games!

Not bad! Really odd series though, very hard to read anything into it. Dear got way too aggressive in g1 and essentially threw a game he was at least equal in. Then the adept/oracle harass essentially decided g2 (left Dear with lower probe count, worse tech and just a bunch of blinkless stalkers), so that's hard to draw conclusions from either. G3 well, Dear died to a 4gate. That build has been popular again lately and it just kills a lot of openers straight up if unscouted, including Dear's SG nexus.

So overall I guess the biggest takeaway is that six adept/SG is now a viable PvP opening. Very hard to draw conclusions about Zest's overall level from this series, though.

Zest still counters Dear I guess. This next match against TY is a toss up. Only 3 days to prepare isn't long.

Zest has a little edge seeing TY play some GSL TvP where as Zest hasn't played any PvT recently

Meh since the marauder patch the pvTs I've seen from Zest weren't to great, and the last time he streamed he had an hard time against terran while being frustrated to play against terrans during loading screens, let's hope it goes well but the preparation time is super short

Congrats Zest!
Good start at 2-0 but went a bit bad in a couple of games.
Clutch storms in the end was awesome. Some stasis ward clutches there too. Hope you do well in the finals. Classic will win over Maru, I'm sure of it.

First 2 games he rekt Ty. On dreamcathcer he let his lead go, kinda throwed. 4th game risky and greedy reaction to the proxy if only that 2nd shield battery finished tho maybe... 5th game nice adept play, 6th game he chose a weird build and got outplayed. Last game nice decesion making clean victory.

What i really loved is that he chose so many different strategies. Really really cool.
