Well - we all love them for participating in Proleague and for their respective results as the two most prominent teams outside Korea! So join the fan club!
EG.HuK Starting his career in Team Empire, HuK jumped into prominence by winning 2010 MLG Raleigh - the first StarCraft 2 MLG. Later he joined Team Liquid and with the new team he won both DreamHack Summer 2011, HomeStory Cup III proving himself to be the best foreigner in the world. Later he changed his prefix once more and joined EG winning 2011 MLG Orlando once again proving that he is able to stop koreans coming abroad. HuK is also one of the very few players that were able to win games in GSL Code S, getting as far as Round of 8.
EG.JYP Formerly member of team TSL, JYP. However, while JYP never achieved much glory as a single tournaments champion, he is recognized as solid player. His best individual results are: 2nd at World e-Sports Masters 2012 and 3rd at HomeStory Cup IV and semifinal of LG Cinema 3D Special League.
EG.Revival Formerly member of team TSL, Revival joined EG only recently. Revival has yet to achieve his StarCraft 2 glory, having only won several online, smaller tournaments and qualified for Code A on more than one occassion, however without much success. However he notably all-killed CheckSix Gaming in IPL Team Arena Challenge/3.
EG.Stephano Formerly of team Millenium, Stephano has risen to prominence after winning both ESWC 2011 and IGN ProLeague 3. His revolutionary ZvP tactic was fearsome for both Foreigners and Koreans. Later - after loosing in final of ASUS ROG Winter 2012 he once again achieved championship titles winning 2012 StarCraft II World Championship Series/Europe/Finals and NASL 3. As of know Stephano is easily the most accomplished foreign player in terms of both money and titles.
EG.ThorZaIN Formerly of team Mousesports, ThorZaIN gained fame after winning TSL 3. He later delivered a series of respectable results, leading to a nickname of "spoon terran". He later - once again - proved to be a top competitior by winning 2012 DreamHack Open/Stockholm.
Liquid.HerO Formerly of team oGs, HerO's skills really started to shine only after joining Liquid. His first premier title was DreamHack Winter 2011 followed up by 2nd finish at NASL 2. Later in 2012 - after reaching semifinal in GSL and 3rd place at WCS Asia Continentals, HerO won both 2012 DreamHack Open/Winter and NASL 4.
Liquid.Zenio Zenio - formerly oGsZenio - similarly to JYP - hasn't achieved much in terms of individual leagues. However he frequently showed solid play, and helped Liquid in it's team tournaments, noticeably all-killing team Dignitas in IPL TAC 3. The best individual result is:
Liquid.Sea While Sea recently decided to retire he is one of the most beloved (now former) KeSPA progamers to us and - as Nazgul called him - one of the Brood War legends.
Current Standings: 7-14 matches, 47-69 games, 8th place

I'm also ussually not in fanclubs the only other exception being NaNiwa's fanclub. But EG-TL is so good. It's nearly like foreign teams all stars.
On December 20 2012 01:45 whereismymind wrote: I like TeamLiquid. The best team, but seriously do we need fanclub for every partnership?
This is not just another partnership. This is partnership between two absolutely top teams outside SK participating in Proleague as the first non KeSPA (also non korean) team in history. This is big deal.
I see the Liquid guys at the EG house on stream all the time. Does anyone know if they are they just practicing there or are they gonna live there too?
Proleague is one of the most difficult, time-consuming, and emotionally demanding gaming leagues to have ever existed. That's why we've set up a brand new Korean training house, which will be titled "The Lab," in the same building as our new neighbors Incredible Miracle. This facility is designed to allow all of our players to practice more intensely, and get more out of their practice, than ever before.
So I guess "The Lab" is for both teams' players as is hired coach.
I added 2nd @ WEM2012, 3rd @ HSC4 and SF @ LG3DSL and Zenios 4th @ IEMS6Kiev. Also added interviews section (two currently) and hotlinked photo from the eg's interview.
Sadly another loss for our team, another close one. Interesting joice for ace match: JYP. Jaedong is - statistically - strongest player on the roster with 3-1 result so far.
TaeJa, the Right Arm of EG-TL (EG-TL의 오른쪽 팔) HerO, the Left Arm of EG-TL (EG-TL의 왼쪽 팔) JYP, the Right Leg of EG-TL (EG-TL의 오른쪽 다리) Jaedong, the Left Leg of EG-TL (EG-TL의 왼쪽 다리)
The players have been joking about this a lot on their Twitter accounts.
Sign me up! a part for being the coolest sc2 team in korea The unholy alliance is also the name of the first consert I ever was on, it has to be a sign from god ^^
It's unlikely, but they could still exit round 1 as high as Second place.
But it would be next to impossible to drop from their current position of 5th. I think to bring only part of the team, on unfamiliar maps and half the team jetlagged in the first week/2 games and still be positioned where they are going in to round 2 is awesome!
They still have two incredibly strong players to add, and they'll only get more comfortable and smooth as time goes on.
Here we see a new angle of the team house practice room for the first time. The webcam on Jaedong's stream never revealed that there are actually windows behind the desks of Hwanni (center left) and Coach tr0t (center right).

Apparently ThorZaiN was interviewed by IEG at the team house and Supernovamaniac tagged along.

Of their four losses, they played 3 of them to the Ace match. (The lone exception being Week 1, when they were confronted with new maps, Jetlag, and many other problems)
All of their losses came to the Top 3 teams (except CJ entus, who was at the time Number 2)
I think this again goes to show that no one will be taking them lightly in the future rounds, as they'll only get stronger as time goes by. ======================
Other random stats:
EG players are 10-13 Liquid players are 11-7. (unimportant I know, but I looked it up, so I put it here)
Taeja is the goto ace with a 1-2 record (3 matches)... Jyp is 0-1
Overall, the players that BEAT EG-TL members are averaging +2 (1.94). Higher if you take into account ace matches (Beat by same player twice). In fact there were only 3 players at all with losing records... so no one is losing to scrubs.
So apparently EG-TL scored their first win against their new neighbors LG-IM... at playing soccer.

Congratz to them! They almost got twice as many goals as their opponents.
If the geo information on ThorZaiN's tweet is correct, then the new team house in Oryu-dong seems to be really well located close to both the GOM studio for GSL (4 km) and the Proleague venues at Sindorim (5 km) and Yongsan (12 km).

I love this, especially JD's face
What I like is the progression : JD = super excited, Taeja = excited, Zenio = wtf don't touch me..

12? So they got a field goal and a safety? Those are some hardcore street rules.

I really though that EG-Liquid has this after Stephano won 2 games. I wonder why they sent JYP? Wasn't HerO or even TaeJa a better alternative? Or Jaedong with his exceptional ZvZ.
On January 15 2013 01:06 nimdil wrote: Oh, and EGTL was supposed to be good in the winners format.
They are, but the problem is the coach's bad decisions such as JYP as ace and Puma as the 4th player against Jangbi. I think EGTL needs more practice and time, developing clutch players because Taeja cannot be the only ace for the team.

Big time this is a LOOOOOOOONG league. They're halfway through round 2 of six. (Month long rounds roughly). This all kill round has been pretty weird too. Not just saying that as a fanboy. When Khan is 2-2 and SKT T1 is 1-3 you know something's a little funky. They've got a great shot at playoffs still, I think they're in 5th right now (possibly sixth), but not too many map wins away really. With Stephano down there now along with Revival they've got the bit of depth they needed in the proleague format I think.
I don't think there will be any t-shirts. Liquid has their t-shirts, EG has their. They also play in different Jerseys. I wonder if Snute will play in Proleague and if he can actually be a resource in this tournament.
On January 16 2013 09:30 hansonslee wrote: Can anyone tell me where HuK and Stephano are staying? I never see them in the EG-TL house.
HuK prefers to stay at the private apartment he's rented together with Jinro, HerO, SuperNova, and previously TLO. HerO seems to prefer to stay at the team house according to his Twitter account.
A common uniform may be more likely now that Steelseries do not seem to sponsor EG anymore.
Really disheartening that TaeJa still cannot play. Despite that, I hope EG-TL will actually score some more wins this and next round. Come March, HotS will hit and any WoL headstart experience on KeSPA will be gone.

EG? TL is not out of the picture yet
Bah, I'm a busy man, with lots of things to do. I can't be bothered to write out the FULL 4 letters
What a rollercoaster ride again. The first all-kill round is over, and despite the coaching staff stating at the start that they'll do much better in all-kill format, here we are with the same so-so performance as in round 1 again. Quite a bit disappointing.
TaeJa taking an extending break because of wrist problems may have been what tipped the scales (and man will I abstain from ever picking him or any other EG-TL player as my FPL captain again). But then again, being entirely dependent on a single player in such a fashion does not bode well when such players would be absent for foreign tournaments in the future rounds.
I hope EG-TL will improve on several fronts and live up to their names. Not getting sweeped again in their first match at the start of the new round certainly would be a good start. xD

That's what I've been wondering myself. But on "Inside the EGGame" this topic is avoided like the plague. It's funny when it comes to FPL where for the past four months they've been in the database without ever setting foot on Korean soil. xD
As for the absolutely abysmal performance of EG-TL of late, this circumstance has apparently finally caught up with at least one of the team owners:
Victor Goossens @LiquidNazgul I'm really upset with the current situation in Proleague we can do much better than this. We'll try to turn this around in HotS. 2:03 a.m. - Mar 4, 2013 · Details
Let's hope something is to come of this.
What I would like to see is a summary statement from both teams about what's going to happen in the future with their Proleague venture in light of the performance so far. Also, what players will stay or go to Korea, who will leave and not come back, and so on. I would also like to see them address their approach of tackling Proleague now that the new 2013 foreign tournament season has begun.

They need something much more than just PL switching to HotS. First it was "once the all kill format comes along, EGTL will dominate", then "once Stephano comes EGTL will dominate". The team needs a fundamental change.
HerO in one of the interviews said that their main issue is lack of practice partners. I guess it makes sense - teams with bigger backup can pick up practice partners to prepare specific builds while EG-TL has only each other. I guess ThorZaIN or HuK may act as practice partners - unless they are no longer in SK? I don't know. I recall the Proleague preview and EGTL was ranked as 1. So sad joke now.
Looks like he's limiting the streaming to get more practice in:

This means Europeans will barely be able to watch the live streaming anymore. 10am - 12pm KST will be in the middle of the night for us (2am - 4am CET, 3am - 5am CEST).
