Could lead to a bad experience of spam and wierd ass shit she may be exposed too. Aye lol, this community has a great side, but once you login to bnet for some laddering you'll encounter a lot of trolls, sore losers and bm as well. However, she seems to be able to cope with that in a great way. Haters didn't hurt her at all, she has a really positive attitude, big part of why she deserves this fan page in the first place imo.

True, I hope she can keep this attitude and stay positive.

Take any person who is unlikely to be an SC2 fan (based on stereotypes) and show 80,000+ people that person's enthusiastic interest in SC2 and as long as that person has a charming personality and/or is physically attractive, instant fans. And there's no stereotype about gamers being won over by sex appeal as far as I know. Sex appeal is universal. Being sad about others' interests and success is counterproductive to your own interests and success. If it's harmless and you don't like it, ignore it. Or if you think it's harmful and you're not capable of doing anything about it, ignore it. Seeing people say this thread makes them sad makes me sad. Hahaha This is spot on. There is no use to posting hate on an appreciation thread which will produce absolutely nothing but bickering within our own community. Wake up, you're doing more harm than what you think Lindsey is capable of doing. Case in point: South Korea How many girls attended any given NASL or GSL game? Now compare to how many girls attend a proleague or an OSL game. Whether or not Lindsey is hot is besides the point, though it certainly doesn't hurt. The main thing is that she belongs to a demographic beyond the typical 'middle-class, nerdy, terribad with women, male.' We absolutely need this if we ever want this whole professional video game player thing to become socially acceptable. Agreed, coming from a football background as well as being a computer science major, I am mixed in with two different crowds of friends, which totally do not understand each other.. lol. It's hard breaking in between the two barriers to get people to open up their minds about each other's culture, and I think this is where people like Lindsey could help. I'm not sure if she's in tune with that type of information, but she's keeping her mind open.. a nice thing to see. You go girl.

Best thing that can happen: SC2 becomes more popular, and we get some eyecandy to go along with it. Worst thing that can happen: She leaves the SC2 community, and ends up being a meme on reddit's r/ starcraft. sign me up.

Its always good to have attractive females in the community, it helps draw more people to the SC2, after all most guys want to know "hey, why is there a super hot girl at an event with a whole bunch of nerds?" Best thing that can happen: SC2 becomes more popular, and we get some eyecandy to go along with it. If people stop hating her and support her efforts in the community, she is more likely to stay than leave. If she decides that it's not for her later on then that's fine, but her leaving the community because she thinks we are a bunch of insulting idiots that love to hate on anything that's not of the "norm" in the culture, then we will be kicking our own asses because of it.

That said I don't think that the sc2 interest was genuine. If it was, great, but she did need something to talk about and starting herself could be considered a decent conversation filler when lacking insight into the game.
