But even then he solved it with a few zealots, a bit gimmicky but not like the infamous sentry drop. Oh and sign me up! Sage fighting!

That whole protoss idea that a game needs to get into hypermacromode with 200 supply deathballs is exactly whats killing protoss atm. The problem is that the kind of heavy-dt ninja play that sage showed today (which was impressive as heck, I'm not gonna even try to take anything way from that) belongs in the same category as MC's once-dominant refined X-gate builds - it won't work forever. People will start to use it more, and people will figure out how to defend it. Folks like Naniwa and Sase have been saying that they don't know how to play a straight up game as protoss anymore, and I guess I can empathise when they complain that Sage's win was a "dt gamble". Beautiful, inspiring play, but no breakthrough there.

Beautiful, inspiring play, but no breakthrough there. Isnt the simple answer to not go straight up with the other guy? That was my point in the first place, alot of protoss have a set idea about how a game of sc2 has to go. And Sage today did something different. Just like Tails did stuff different when he beat MVP and Nestea.

Beautiful, inspiring play, but no breakthrough there. Thats why you gotta be reactive i think. You got to know when to attack (Especially when zerg makes 4 hatches early?) which is what sage did perfectly and you got to know when to back up(when zerg prolly goes for some 2 base tech timing). Right now the trend is for zerg to be greedy, i hope we get to see how sage manages the aggressive/tech oriented zerg. Seeing how hes such a good scouter and reactive player, i got high hopes for him

Beautiful, inspiring play, but no breakthrough there. They should just watch Huks stream then. His pvz isn't perfect but it is really good in a straight up fashion. He is able to get up all the bases he needs and play long successful macro games with few losses. Some of the stuff he does to manage this is unique to him too like his simcity.

If you have seen all his games in GSL and GSTL there's more than that. I missed last game but read the live report, cannot emphasise enough how good this is for all protoss players also. I feel this sort of style that Sage plays is when MC kind of introduced the Stargate play in FFE PvZ.
