@zedrOne You follow sc2 progaming for the interviews? And also, "they don't have any personality" that sounds so dumb and racist it hurts my head. The GSL matches are more spectacular and amazing than any foreign event, but you couldn't really notice that if your focus is on what i mentioned above.
I'm not sure how to do this. Could someone please just try to get rid of this guy and Azarkon? Does anyone know a sympathetic moderator?
@Fus For me, his achievment so far, and his attitude, make him a legend already.
Lol I can't belive i'm reading this ignorant bs.

Your allowed to disagree man, I say, it's my point on GSL, I really know that's saying something that look "bad" about GSL make you "persona non gratta" in SC2, to many tastosis / day9 fan in this community ! but : "ignorant BS" : useless to say so, it's my point of view, it's just rude to start a post like that.
I don't follow Sc2 for the interviews, but maybe even you can understand that their is often more than just the game, I really like watching some SC2, some tennis, some poker, and some handball, in each discipline, I have team and or player i like more than the other, for their achievment, and for what they represent. The french Handball team ie, is for me the top of the sport / dedication achievment, they are flawless in and out of the game, exact opposite of the french football team. I dont watch football so i dont watch football related interview, but I watch handball, and i really enjoy listening to french handball player / coach opinion on the game, it's really interesting. SO, no i dont look only for the intervie, and will look even if their is no interview, but it's a great bonus, and inteview and player apperence out of the game is good for sponsor, and if you want "people playing video-game for money" to grow (esport) you need sponsor, and you need them happy.
Nice goodwin point for directly placing "racism" in you post. I think most of fan agree that it's harder to follow a player that don't talk (or that you don't understand). "to have personnality" for me, in any discipline, (so, for a public person) is to be unique. Some player (not only korean) have personality, but no great result, lot of korean got result, but no personality, they all say the same thing in interview. "i will try my best, thanks to the fan". why some korean got more "follower" or another way to say it, more people interested in them than other ? Why so many people follow MC ? or MPK ? cause they got great personality. Why nobody will remember that alicia got in 2 final of internationnal event in 6 month ? (not only because he didn't win, MPK got fan, and a lot of them being only second)
@Meggiroth maybe you just can't stand that somebody don't agree with your way of seeing GSL, if so, no need to insult / be rude, just say it. I cant understand that lot of people love GSL, it doesn't give me headache. It's just a tournament so different than the other, and in my opinion, it's overhype. but it's just my opinion.
edit : @ArcticRaven You deduce yourself that i say MC is the only one with personality ? because i didn't say that. maybe your biased. You just assume wrong. BTW, i watch, and watched a lot of GSL, sometime you just have nothing else to watch. maybe like meggiroth you just can't stand that people may not feel your hype about GSL.
I totally agree with azarkon. Probably the only person around whos not an overly biased fanboy. Unfortunately the function of this thread seems to be only for praise and not open discusions about Stephano. Every time someone mentions a CLEAR NEGATIVE FACT about stephano all the fanboys rage and cry for bans.
I agree that his mechanics have dropped SLIGHTLY in comparison to, let's say, 3 or 4 month ago but i think that his builds and general knowledge have improved.
Concerning the 5 ovis at once, it's on purpose and i wish people would stop talking about it like it's a mistake.
edit : But say that he is in a slump is completly false. His last few months were a blast.
You can't win all the games sometime you loose, Mana and Sase are not bad players at all.

.......... Say that it's not the day for talk about that is not being a fanboy (i hate when a guy say that word, it' always a haterboy).
And we can discuss what say Azarkon. The floawing mineral is common for zerg for transition, it's n ot P and T. It's normal to up your mineral in a lot of situations.
But you can create a thread on the general forum: discuss the play of Stephano. A fan club is doing for fan, sorry (and if you want you can call fan: fanboy) Steph don't give a fuck of what you can say, in the idra fan club, fans discuss about the play of the Grack since month, but it change nothing.
Yesterday he win one of the major tournaments, we can celebrate during one day no?

I guess "not being biased" is synonymous with being about 20% right, making up about 40% of what you say and being wrong about the remaining 40%. Based on the number of times he's posted and the length of his posts, Azarkon has spent most of his life the past couple years on these forums and he still is staggeringly uninformed about basic facts about who's played who when and where and with what result, let alone the supposed "metagame", which he's gone on about at length to little effect. Please go with Azarkon and start your own discussion threads so you don't have to debate with fanboys. Do. It. Now. Just. Leave.
@ZedrOne 100%! I don't like if foreigner play two or more season at gsl. One season is pretty acceptable and understandable. I am very sad that naniwa only plays ~2 international tournaments within one year due to GSL.

Exactly this is the reason why I don't like those tournaments. A weekend tournament is so much better, because you have to prepare for all matchup.

I just wanna say my take on GSL :
I never see the internationnal and Korean scene like the majority of SC audience. GSL got a legacy, but for me that's all. Some say, the best game are played in GSL so you need to watch / follow / adore GSL, I disagree. I find most of GSL matches boring. I don't deny that some of Nestea, DRG and Leenock game where crazy good to watch, but it's more the exeption that the norm in my opinion. Add the fact that most korean don't have any personality (not all) and are just boring in Interview, I dont see the point of following GSL.
Maybe it's the prize money that make it such a great event ? Well, the repartition of the money is so bad, that unless you win it all, it's not a great Time investment. Loosing a full season lengh to play GSL, i dont really want stephano doing that, and i understand if he don't want to do it.
GSTL appeals to me more, because of the team format, the all kill possibility bring excitement, the pressure on the shoulder of the last player or the ace in some important match, the fact that you dont know for sure witch player the adversary will send and so on. for me a player doing great in GSTL matches after matches is more amazing that a one shoot win at GSL.
The fact that i dont really like GSL make me "value" player streng differently than most, and curiously, this last month have been really good for my prediction. The level difference between EU and Korea was never so big in my opinion, and it narrow at every internationnal event with korean in it. I dont really think the korean got less good and the rest of the world better, I believe that lot of them already win the matches before it started, because the rest of the world used to think they already lost. (I must agree that a big majority of korean got amazing mechanics, better than the rest of the world, but mechanics only dont make you win every game)
This seams to go away, slowly, for some of the top player. (it never was a problem for stephano, 'cause he dont care who the fuck he is playing against)
So stephano in Code S ? For what ? If he loose everybody gonna say "Korean OP", if he win, they will way "it's just one time MVP got 4 !" Money ? like I say, it's not a good time investment, unless you win it all. Stephano say he actually think he his the best zerg in the world, he doesnt have to prove it to anybody, but he is smart enought to understand that being the best in the world dont mean that you win every game. the time he need to stay in korea for winning a GSL is not really worth it. (I refer to the interview after winning, where he say "i'm the best in the world")
To conclude, a word about naniwa. (the player, not the man) I really think that his choice are bad. but i respect his dedication and stubbornness. If he was able to elevate is level of play like he did, and play a lot of non-GSL event with the focus he need to win, he could be the most succefull player in SC2. winning more money and tournament than almost anybody. He prefer to focus only on GSL, and maybe never winning it. Not the best choice for his exposure (or his team exposure on international scene), not the best choice for his earning in SC2. Unless he manage to win one. In a way, it's a gamble, and naniwa it's just the guy capable of doing it.
Since nani got to korea, how many tournament stephano win or place top 5 ? how many money the win in tournament earning ?
I just Hope MC win this GSL, and come back to an internationnal event and got stomped again by stephano. (it's not against MC, i really like the guy, on of the rare korean to have a personality)
(sry for the big wall of text, and the bad english)
lol GSL games are boring? Nope, or maybe you just don't like sc2.

I'm not even convinced DRG is better man. I think especially if Stephano starts training hard he will certainly be better than DRG if he isn't already
Stephano might be more talented but there is no doubt DRG is bettr than Stephano now. DRG is just more complete in every match-ups. He is the best ZvT and his ZvP is as good as Stephano's one. DRG is the best player on the planet i think.
