Because if you have 120/150 you can produice 30 supply And when you are at 120/128 you cant

After lair in ZvP when you are scouting the protoss you basically have the choice to macro hard, pump units for the 12:00 max and attack the third, or defend. What some zergs do is free up enough supply to be able to do any of those possibilities, scout and be able to make 10+ drones or pump mass roach the second they know what's up.
Got it, thx for the explanation

Congratulations Stephano!
I'm monstrously late to this party but please sign me up if the doors are open!

He said in an interview he would be only playing GSTL and not GSL in Korea. A bit sad, even if winning code S with just a one-season shot would have been really hard and near impossible I would have liked to see him try at least
|
I'm not sure we should be sad about it. Yes, the GSL is the most prestigious tournament, but being able to prepare an entire week for one single opponent is something completely different than facing various players throughout a single weekend, where specific preparation is not possible. Whether one is more interesting than the other depends on the viewer I guess.
Still, he beats GSL players on a regular basis everywhere and an action packed tournament over a weekend is much more fun than a 1 month GSL. + more money for him :-)

shit just got real Stephano doesn't give a damn to be the best foreigner, he wants to be the best, period Only lesser players focus on lesser objectives, it says everything about Naniwa ! (/troll)
Anyway, impressive run at NASL3, especially against MC, it truly was a final before the hour.

note : stop arguing with arkazon, it's just useless.
I just wanna say my take on GSL :
I never see the internationnal and Korean scene like the majority of SC audience. GSL got a legacy, but for me that's all. Some say, the best game are played in GSL so you need to watch / follow / adore GSL, I disagree. I find most of GSL matches boring. I don't deny that some of Nestea, DRG and Leenock game where crazy good to watch, but it's more the exeption that the norm in my opinion. Add the fact that most korean don't have any personality (not all) and are just boring in Interview, I dont see the point of following GSL.
Maybe it's the prize money that make it such a great event ? Well, the repartition of the money is so bad, that unless you win it all, it's not a great Time investment. Loosing a full season lengh to play GSL, i dont really want stephano doing that, and i understand if he don't want to do it.
GSTL appeals to me more, because of the team format, the all kill possibility bring excitement, the pressure on the shoulder of the last player or the ace in some important match, the fact that you dont know for sure witch player the adversary will send and so on. for me a player doing great in GSTL matches after matches is more amazing that a one shoot win at GSL.
The fact that i dont really like GSL make me "value" player streng differently than most, and curiously, this last month have been really good for my prediction. The level difference between EU and Korea was never so big in my opinion, and it narrow at every internationnal event with korean in it. I dont really think the korean got less good and the rest of the world better, I believe that lot of them already win the matches before it started, because the rest of the world used to think they already lost. (I must agree that a big majority of korean got amazing mechanics, better than the rest of the world, but mechanics only dont make you win every game)
This seams to go away, slowly, for some of the top player. (it never was a problem for stephano, 'cause he dont care who the fuck he is playing against)
So stephano in Code S ? For what ? If he loose everybody gonna say "Korean OP", if he win, they will way "it's just one time MVP got 4 !" Money ? like I say, it's not a good time investment, unless you win it all. Stephano say he actually think he his the best zerg in the world, he doesnt have to prove it to anybody, but he is smart enought to understand that being the best in the world dont mean that you win every game. the time he need to stay in korea for winning a GSL is not really worth it. (I refer to the interview after winning, where he say "i'm the best in the world")
To conclude, a word about naniwa. (the player, not the man) I really think that his choice are bad. but i respect his dedication and stubbornness. If he was able to elevate is level of play like he did, and play a lot of non-GSL event with the focus he need to win, he could be the most succefull player in SC2. winning more money and tournament than almost anybody. He prefer to focus only on GSL, and maybe never winning it. Not the best choice for his exposure (or his team exposure on international scene), not the best choice for his earning in SC2. Unless he manage to win one. In a way, it's a gamble, and naniwa it's just the guy capable of doing it.
Since nani got to korea, how many tournament stephano win or place top 5 ? how many money the win in tournament earning ?
I just Hope MC win this GSL, and come back to an internationnal event and got stomped again by stephano. (it's not against MC, i really like the guy, on of the rare korean to have a personality)
(sry for the big wall of text, and the bad english)

No problem brah, I understood everything you said and agree :-)

if you mean "think", Stephano said recently that he thinks DRG is the best zerg in the world.

Lol I can't belive i'm reading this ignorant bs.
@zedrOne You follow sc2 progaming for the interviews? And also, "they don't have any personality" that sounds so dumb and racist it hurts my head. The GSL matches are more spectacular and amazing than any foreign event, but you couldn't really notice that if your focus is on what i mentioned above.
|
i really don't understand why stephano should focus on GSL whereas he has the chance to make a lot of international event, however training in korea is very useful
this is why i'm happy that stephano doesn't want compete in gsl, gsl system is good for korean who live there and need to make themselves, a lot of korean want to compete in international event, it's really a chance
yes it's good to have in his achievement "gsl champion" but stephano doesn't need this to still have a scary list of achievement
|
He doesn't really care about achievments, he wants cash. And GSL is not the best way to get it. Moreover, if he plays in GSL we will see MUCH less games from him wich is sad.
The GSL would double their season ticket sales though xD
|
Stephano doesn't care about GSL. And GSL basicaly represents the crown of "Best SC2 player in the world". Stephano wants money and maybe some international fame at best and for that he only needs to participate in foreign tournaments thats why he only wants to go to korea for only a month of training so he can win more foreign tournaments. If he wanted to continue his progaming career for more years I'm sure he would have played GSL until he would have won it but as he wants to quit this year and only wants the largest amount of money in the shortest time, winning as many foreign events as possible until he quits is the best way to go for him.
|
I disagree Stephano needs a GSL championship to really be seen as a legend.
|
@zedrone : obviously you're not gonna find them interesting if you don't watch. In GSL there is so much room for metagaming and surprise, two games are never the same. If it was just that i could understand, but saying mc is one of the only Koreans with personality shows you're just ignorant. Know what you're talking about man.
But then i could hardly understand anything you said. Could you at least make an effort ? You're utterly unreadable.

Eventhough I don't care if Stephano plays in the GSL or not , I do agree that to be seen as a legend of Sc2 being the first and only foreigner to win a GSL , that helps a lot !

On July 16 2012 21:57 Fus wrote: I disagree Stephano needs a GSL championship to really be seen as a legend. True but if he would achieve that and show all the other slacking foreigners that its possible, all the SC2 scene would be changed and the korean vs foreigner imbalance would also change because a lot of foreigners would be more motivated.

winning a GSL would really crown him on top of Starcraft and would make him a legend when he retires
