Yeah, he's playing like 5 games a day. It's totally ridiculous given that IPL is the biggest tounament of the year for him. Everyone needs practice. I support the hypothesis that he's given up on SC2 (or is totally not serious about anything as a general matter). I note that his ladder rank is what it is because he was demoted to masters for inactivity (because he's been in the US for so long). He was then a couple days ago re-promoted to grandmaster but you start at the bottom even though he has something like an 87% win rate.

He's overconfident is his PvZ, and he don't want to practice ZvZ so he only need to practice some ZvT, he doesn't need to practice a lot to keep his mechanics.
He came in Lone Star Clash with some new strategy against Polt without practicing his ZvT ( or he has a smurf account ), I think he spend a lot of time thinking about the game more than playing, he's a smart guy, afterall, his ZvT and ZvP styles was/are maybe the most studying styles of Sc2 and all the zergs use them right now.
Or maybe i'm wrong, he doesn't think about the game, just drink a lot, go to party everyday and he's going to be crush in a few days \o/.

I was asking myself if this profile http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/2709539/1/XǂTENTACULAT/matches can be one of Stephano's Smurf :
-I can't find anything about this Tentaculat on google -There is a lot of games played yesterday but not today (Stephano seems playing on his account today) -X cross instead of M cross ? -170 games played on Zerg, with more than 81% win % -Same profile avatar
If you know who is Tentaculat tell us

You're right but that was an aberration. He didn't play at all on 4/1 (at least on that account) and he played 6 games on Saturday. Prior to that there were several days where he didn't play on his NA or EU account so on average he's playing around 5 games a day perhaps less. If anyone knows differently, feel free to correct me.
Edit: The poster above me might be onto something. Tentaculat seems like a plausible smurf candidate; the account's record is very good for EU so it's either Stephano or a Korean; no other foreign Zergs, except for Nerchio, have managed to maintain that high of a winrate over so many games on the EU server. Also, that account had a lot of activity on 4/1 and Stephano had no activity on his usual EU account on that day. If it is Stephano, that he took the step of creating a smurf account is good news -- it means he's taking winning seriously enough that he not only isn't streaming but also is using a smurf account presumably so that he can conceal any new builds or strategies.

Maybe, i'll try to see that tonight (:.
PS : Stephano came back in europe last week on the 28 or something like that, just look if this account is up since or if this account was active during his trip in USA.

I deferred a year after I was accepted to law school (in the U.S.). At least where I went to school at least 1/4 of the incoming class would typically opt to defer a year. Deferrals were almost always granted as long as you had a decent reason for requesting the deferral (e.g., you wanted to publish a paper or finish serving as an aide for a Senator). If I had been in Stephano's shoes and requested a deferral to play SC2, they definitely would have granted it -- it's all how you frame the request that counts. I'm not saying that he plans to do this, but just that this may be an option for him.
It is pretty common in France to apply for a year at university without really attending because the university is public. You only have about 400 euros fees so in comparison to what you have to spend for a year in the USA it's almost nothing. And he has enough money for it, so there's definitely a possibility for him to only register to his university and then just quit if he changes his mind.
Now it really depends on whether he chooses medicine or bio. Medicine is famous in France for being pretty hard and I'm not completely sure about how freely you can enrol. If it is bio, when I started university, you could always wait until October to make your application so he has a lot of time to do it. But it might be different in another city than mine.
Edit : I've checked for my city and it seems that it has changed for bio and you have to apply before the 5th may for bio and the 7th may for med for the first session. Not as much time as I thought.

Don't think it's him. I checked the chat of the 2 replays which can be found:
http://drop.sc/replays?player=#182764 (I can't check the replays for the moment but someone should do it to be sure, against the P you would recignize his style).
no "gl, hf", and I don't see why he would hide it so much. I don't think practising in the dark like that is in line with his personality overall.
Furthermore, the tentaculat guy played in March during the time Steph was in the US (however I must admit the dates correspond well to the training period of Stephano, never played during tournaments, always in the middle of the week... makes me doubt a bit but I still think it's very unlikely).

You could just compare hotkeys from these replays to top eu zergs.

Yeah good idea. The thing is it's definitely a smurf account and there are not a lot of zergs in the world able to go up so high in the ladder with that ratio.
EDIT: It's a bit off topic and just a personnal feeling which is not backed up by any solid facts, but reading the Millenium website almost everyday, I have the feeling that something might happen between Mill & Stephano after IPL4. Again, nothing solid here, just a feeling which grows stronger and stronger.

Well, if it's a smurf account he probably wouldn't want to give himself away with his signature "gl, hf" but it might not be his account. Someone suggested checking his hotkeys above. I think Stephano uses just the first four keys typically with units on 1 and 2, queens on 3 and his hatcheries on 4. Anyone know whether that matches the replay? (I can't check the replays either ATM.)
|
This guy uses 1 to 4 as Steph but put hatch on 1 wheras Steph put hatch on 4, i think it's not him.

when this is stephanos smurf, we have to let it in the dark. because stephano dont want that his opponents should know his strats when he smurfs... fans should respect that and dont search an smurf of him. and dont make it public.
sorry for my english, i realy dont speak this language well.

Also, TENTACULAT is not Stephano. I've seen Stephano play him on ladder a couple of times.

So yeah, saying that he's the best zerg doesnt make sense (yet, let him go to Korea I think many would be surprised, question is does he want to go), but I can understand the guys that over hype Stephano, because his level of play is clearly Code S, and he never trained with koreans, it is impressive and he might be the next best zerg on the planet if he trains hard and evolves. I do also see he has a huge potential, he is really really good. But people seriously need to stop over hyping, there is a huge difference between potentially the best and actually being the best. I guess for people who wants to see foreigners winning against koreans, then yea, stephano is probably one of the few who can do it consistently in foreign tournaments. Why exactly do people need to stop hyping? What is so bad about calling your favorite player best player in the world? People do it all the time, in every sport I know. And as an example in sc2, many were calling DRG best zerg in the world after he had won a few games in the GOM team league. He had not won a single tournament, was not even in code A, yet he was hyped like crazy. And strangely noone was butthurt about it like now with Stephano.
