http://www.tv6.se/blog/naniwa/iem-newyork-och-lite-annat Latest blog about IEM NY
My translation. Please note that Naniwa writes rather sloppily. It's quite difficult to translate that to english so I will just translate it without attempting to write similarly.
"Hey blog ! Just back from New York! It went a lot better than I expected to be honest I was in a crises when it came to motivation but this result in New York proved to myself that I have no reason to believe that I am worse than anyone else or without a chance regardless of the situation And this is a lesson I've never learned before in Starcraft.
Even if I am very happy over how I played I am of course slightly unhappy as well, I have had an incredible amount of second places in sc2, I got some first places too but particularly one of these stacked tournaments would be great fun to win, but at the same time it drives me to continue struggling and not give up I have always believed that I just play for myself and for what I believe in, and even if that is true to a large extent I realised in New York, when the fans cheered for me, that it is a great deal of why I love Starcraft and why I love competing as much as I do.
I have lately become very jealous of League of Legends and the Dota 2 scenes because of all the attention they've gotten lately whereas we in Starcraft used to be number 1 when it came to viewers, but I guess it is pointless to get annoyed by something you can't change, right? So I will try to be positive that it can hopefully make people more interested in gaming in general and that it somehow will be positive for us in Starcraft too! Very well, beyond all this what I am otherwise focusing on is Homestory Cup and DHW which are coming up soon, I am incredibly anxious to compete right now and really look forward to feel the adrenaline pump in my veins while I got everything on the line There is no better feeling as a progamer, according to me, than to be under a few maps and then make a comeback, it is such an incredible kick...
Things look rather bleak with blizzcon, but I accepted a long time ago that the chances were very low because I messed up WCS EU, but of course I hope that I get the 16th place, I feel as if I go there I have a shot at doing well. So I am holding my thumbs, but again, it's nothing I will be particularly sad over. So TL;DR is that everything is fine and my motivation is back on top and I have realised why Starcraft is so special for me in particular! Maybe not a great post, but at least I wrote it from the bottom of my heart so I hope it's okay! Cia0"

ROFL! TB's translation is so awesome!
And Johan!! Wow, so so good to hear your thoughts and feelings echoing that which you said on stage in New York too about the crowd. Maybe i'm silly but it put tears in my eyes. Keep it up, you are definately helping saving Starcraft!

One of the reasons I love Naniwa is that he isn't concerned with what people think and instead does what he needs to do to win. He loses with a build and isn't afraid to try it again if he knows why it failed the first time and is confident he can fix it. Proxy gates in game 5 vs Hyun was absolutely brilliant and I don't think anyone would have seen it coming. That took massive balls.
Kid practices his face off and balls with the best of the Koreans. He's got a real winner's mentality. GOGO NANIWA!!
PS Also I was in the crowd at IEM and saw the smile on his face when those guys ran across the stage with the Swedish flag. Show some love guys.

I'd like to add that my brother who has never played SC2 before was with me at Comic-con and got dragged to watch IEM with me... at first he was like WTF is this etc.
By the finals he was chanting NANIWA! with the crowd.
Even down 0-2 to Life, he came back with some amazing games. We were on the edge of our seats every game and despite losing Naniwa made the tournament more exciting to watch than any other player there. Some players give up after a couple of quick defeats, but Naniwa shows strength throughout even against the best Korean players. That's why I love watching him.

"Incredible numbers of other locations" :DDD TB is the second best!
Nice read naniwa. And fantastic news is you're gonna be aired soon enough again, and that you have your motivation back!!

If Hack defeats Hyun to advance to the ro8, we would have the best possible outcome from America, and it would mean its pretty much only Dear and soO who can take Naniwa off the top 16.
Ofc there are some upsets that could occur, like Vortix placing top 2 at the season finals etc.
|
Fuck yeah! I'm sorry for Hyun, he's a great player, but it's such a great thing for Naniwa and foreigners overall. Well done Hack! We thank you for your great play, and also: thank you David Kim, for the Widow Mine.
|
hell yeah! now lets hope no super upsets happen and Nani should be fine :D

Hyun is out.
Naniwa is closer to blizzcon than ever before.
|
I'm just gonna try to not jinx anything now related to NaNiwa and BlizzCon.
|
I feel so bad that i am so happy that hyun and scarllet is out, go nani!, now the condition i guess is to have soo or dear, only 1 of them at blizzcon.

Revival is a potential threat still. Whatever that means.

I was under the impression that he still has a theoretical chance for making 25 points in challenger if he plays out the group stage of it and does well. I have no knowledge if he plans on doing this though. Those points would tie him up with NaNiwa.
As for NaNiwa's chances, it's looking better and better

This is true afaik. He can, if he wins the group stage in challanger league AM, make another 25 points, which will tie him up with naniwa.
|
Wow- I've been pretty pessimistic towards his chances of reaching blizzcon, especially after how unfavourably WCS EU went down and IEM's decision to grant Revival free points. I really did not think Hyun would lose. Results are finally starting to fall in Nani's favour. Let's hope this continues. Naniwa at blizzcon as the only foreigner would be amazing.
|
If it turns out revival is tied wiht naniwa I hope Blizzard doed the right thing and chooses naniwa over revival for the obvious reasons
