Naniwa i forgive you for your attitude towards nestea if you do well in code S this time and don't disappoint us anymore! Gogo Naniwa!
Your micro and 2 base execution are awesome, you just need to get a firmer grasp of the late game!

That's just it though, versus zerg Naniwa has an amazing grasp of the game. You let a Zerg get 3 bases uncontested muchless four as a protoss you're dead. Zergs ability to stall, harass, kill a protoss player is just too good in the late game.

So Nani stopped zergs from ever getting there.

Naniwa showed amazing game play and long term knowledge in starcraft.

He wasn't rude he wasn't bad manner he was an awesome player and competitor this MLG and showed the rest of us how protoss should be handling the game.

Congratulations Naniwa - you're a goddamned monster.

Very well said man ^^.

I think people just need to lighten up and enjoy life more. Some people are taking everything too seriously. Naniwa and Nestea didn't mean anything by what they said/did . They were intentionally adding drama/trying to be funny for the entertainment of the fans. I hope Naniwa just puts himself up without putting others down and lets the haters do their thing. It's much better to be someone that's hated on than someone that does the hating.

I can't wait to see my favorite protoss in Code S. His story is so inspiring, at Dallas 2011 in an interview (I think it was dallas, anyway) he talked about how his ultimate goal was to win a GSL. He's so much closer now, I can't wait for his goal to be achieved.

First thing's first, nani has to crush this dreamhack. I like his chances.

Naniwa won MLG undefeated from open bracket. Sure no koreans that time but he sure has proven that he could go far even if he went open bracket.

DId he really go 3-2, he only lost to lennock in the finals so was it not 3-1? Also to beat huk, DRG and nestea. And dont forget he won vs Nestea and MVP in the MLG GI.

The MLG system sucks but Naniwa does not have to apologize for that 2nd place. He deserved that!

since he came undefeated from the winners bracket into the finals, his first loss against leenock knocked him down to losers bracket where he automatically came back into the finals again to get a second chance where he lost again.

the 4:1 overall record was (i believe) a 2:1 and a 2:0 on the second try.

fun fact: naniwa could have won mlg with a losing-record against leenock by losing the first match in 2:0 fashion and then winning the second set 1:2 for an overall record of 3:2. but he didnt.

no, he would have to win with 4-3, when he lost 1-2 it became an extended series.

I don't get why Nani and Leenock had to play an extended series? They never met until the grand finals, so why wasn't it just a simple BO3?

It was so gut-wrenching seeing Naniwa get only one game away from complete victory this weekend. Nevertheless, it doesn't take away from his amazing run and it was a delight to see the hard work he's put in pay off against some of the best players in the world. Naniwa made this MLG absolutely awesome and I hope he keeps it up and continues to improve while in code S!

Naniwa came from the winners bracket while Leenock came from the losers bracket(lost a series against DRG).

If Naniwa won the inital best of 3 it would have been the end of the tournament. But since he lost the initial best of 3 the series was extended because Naniwa came from the winner's bracket

Naniwa you were the best at MLG Providence! Even though Leenock won imo you were better. After first game Leenock figured out he just could not win in any other way than cheese.

I love you nani! The people hating on you are just not as smart as you, me and the rest of the your fans. The people hating on you have low iq and therefore they jump at you like hyena clowns.

You will win a big tournament very soon! I know it! <3

and yeah also reddit is a joke. Clearly a place for a pack of people who likes to sit behind their monitors and as a group attack people who do not fit their taste. A place where dramaqueens and over exaggerating morons spend their time. That is all!

What naniwa did was innocent. He even apologized for it. But people still keeps being babies about it. If you are apart of this naniwa-hate-train you should really be ashamed. The people in the audience @ MLG Providence who boo'd should be ashamed and everyone who wrote pathetic stuff about naniwa on internet should be ashamed.

I remember MC thumbing down IdrA and going straight to his booth also to ridicule him at some past MLG. But then the audience loudly clapped their hands instead. Now when naniwa does it he gets boo's and online flame instead.

I just don't get it... is it because MC is korean( i love koreans ) so it was ok for him to thumb idra down and get applause for it? Or is it something else? Ofcourse i know MC did it just for fun and i friggin love the guy. He showed entertainment just like naniwa...

but when naniwa does it............ he get's a completely different treatment...

Maybe it's because that on MC's facial expressions you can see that he's just fooling around while naniwa looks more serious when he does or says something... i dunno. But people should have brain enough to understand that naniwa also is just fooling around like MC did.

People seriously needs to learn to not take everything a person is saying or doing 100% serious. And people need to think abit before they post after seeing a video for example.

Analyze the video more than just a few seconds and carefully listen to what the person is saying and think about "did he really mean that" or is he just fooling around or did i just missunderstand what he actually said or ment to say.

Naniwa's dreamhack winter group
Group I
compLexity NaNiwa
Empire Happy
Empire Beastyqt
Gameburg Ciara

Slightly concerned for him, PvT is his best matchup but Naniwa has been in korea quite some time and isn't used to EU style terran anymore so the two empire terrans could be dangerous for him. Ciara will probbaly die to his early expand into strong two base push opening since Nani has a few days to tweak it into being safer vs early agression. Here's to hoping he gets out of the group and goes on to win the whole thing ^-^

^ He'll get out of his group. Nani was largely undefeated before Korea, I doub't they will have what it takes to take a game off of him.

Have been a big NaNiwa fan forever, way disappointed he couldn't take it all the way with Providence. But looking at his performance, I wouldn't be surprised if he went real deep into the next GSL or Blizzard Cup or even if he takes 1st at Dreamhack Winter.

Sign me up.

I was at the MLG event this weekend, and I gotta say, Naniwa is my new favorite player and I don't even play protoss. His work ethic, game knowledge and determination is one of the best in the game, and his game play was immaculate (until the finals ;_;). I felt like what Artosis said about Naniwa being from the future couldn't have been more true, everything from his building placement to his timings was legit. His personality needs work, but I'm just looking at his game play and knowledge not his personality.

Didn't know SC2 was a personality contest, frankly the fact that he doesn't act like an emotionless statue like a lot of other SC2 pro's makes me really like watching him. Same thing with players like Idra, Huk, MC, etc. In the end they're competitors but we watch them for entertainment.

even though naniwa didn't win i think we can all agree he had the best run at MLG, Starting off taking out MVP/Nestea for MLG Global... and then taking out nestea... AGAIN! then HuK... Then DRG. Such... a boss.

So I decided to try to do the Naniwa PvZ style I saw this weekend...omfg its so good.
I Nexus first, stay on two base, go double robo collsus, get stalkers and sentrys and win.
And I dont know why, but my ForceFields felt soooo much better than they did before. Naniwa opened up a new door for me as a P player. Thanks Nani

I'am so sad today I can't really write anything positive. Naniwa you need to stop this, you can't keep doing this anymore. I just want to forget the last game.

What is point of winning if you lose in the end.

There is just one thing left, revenge.
