1. Cut scvs to keep your minerals low so it looks like you have good macro. 2. 21 minute timing push TvZ when zergs geysers deplete. 3. Clump up tanks so when arbiter uses stasis so the tanks act as a nice wall.
First day's casting was a bit rough, but you just need some practice. You have the personality and ability to do it based on what I've seen on your stream. Bop some clowns handsomely, you'll definitely be a great caster! GRETORP FIGHTING
There is just something about the way gretorp slings his words together that makes him a great caster. I feel his casting today was a little rough, but his previous casts are a strong indication that it's probably only temporary. With that said, I dislike how he uses "parried x attack well", When I hear him use it (and its nearly every cast) I find myself debating if I would use something that has quite medieval connotations in a game set thousands of years in the future rather than actually watching the game. Anyways good player but I have not seen much of him in SC2, casting seems to fit him quite well though.
Gretorp is really smart and sexy man he is really an actuary. Do you know how hard it is to become an actuary? There are 12 exams and the first exam has less than a 50% pass rate and he did all this while beating everyone in bw and becoming a sponsored player on team fanatic. This man deserves your respect.
If he tried to explain starcraft to us our tiny brains would explode. This is why his casting in the NASL is terrible. He is trying too hard to use smaller words so we would understand but give him time and he will master this too.
He gives the best massages ask day9
So sexy!
PS. @Gretorp: You said you would try to come to the NYC Cybercraft lans we need someone to beat Pokebunny
Gretorp your cast today was much-improved. You did a great job of not fumbling over your words, your volume was fine, and your casting style felt very natural today. Keep up the good work!
Please sign me up! He's been my favorite player since i saw him beat jinro on his stream back in the beta with amazing play and my favorite caster since he casted Europe vs Asia with day[9].
Just finished the VODs from yesterday's NASL, and I'm shocked. I expected Gretorp to get better over time, but not quite that quickly. The casting was amazing, and I'm looking forward to more on Saturday.
really liked your strategie vods month ago and enjoy your casting. So even i dont like to call myself a "fan" of anyone, here is my sign up to make a statement against the random haters.
Gretorp is at his best when he's talking and playing IMO. He would explain things incredibly well and accurately, and so far he's doing a great job in NASL. I don't understand why he gets so much flack for his commentary and I've been a fan from the beginning.
Also Gretorp fun fact. His name backwards is proterg, which Gretorp being the genius that he is knew it would signify that he played all three races, protoss, terran and zerg.
Sign me up. Before the Day9 Daily there was the Gretorp Livestream, Terran 101 almost everyday. Even when it'd inevitably start to cost him some games he'd still do his best to answer questions, even the stupid ones.
This fanclub should've been started so long ago. I was gonna make it but I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep it as awesome as a fanclub of such a great and handsome baller as Gretorp should be.
Back in beta I was staying up all night whenever he was streaming and from when I started following him I went from being a complete RTS noob stuck in Copper league all the way to Diamond. Then during the fall after release Gretorp was inactive and my bonus pool was stacking up. He returned for a while right after they had added the Master league and I got motivation to start grinding 1s again and took my gaming to that next step again. He has really had one of the best SC2 streams ever while he's been active.
Gretorp, please keep up the awesome job you are doing for the SC2 scene and I'll hope to see you streaming more frequently again in the future. I'll keep cheering for you at MLGs and any other event you might attend and hope you'll be able to keep compete on the highest level still while being so busy with NASL, 6-pool gaming, Gosucoaching and what else you might be up to! Hopefully I'll get the honor to meet you at some event in the future. Unfortunately I think it will have to be in Europe.
Sign me up for the clown boppers' handsome baller club!
Lol at first I had my doubts after seeing Gretorp's first few days at NASL... but I've gotta say that he's gotten much better at commentating, and I'm starting to enjoy his analysis. He's also funny as hell.
Besides being a strong player, he is one of my favorite casters as he really knows what he is talking about. I think his casts appeal especially to thinking players; good analysis is much more important than shouting questionable things loudly.
The first week of NASL seemed a bit lacking. Both casters seemed a bit awkward and didn't have the best chemistry. That being said, this past week was phenomenal.
I don't know if the overall production had improved that much, because quite frankly, I just didn't care. Both casters have really come a long way in a short time, especially Gretorp. Every aspect of the cast has gotten much better. The humor/excitement feels a lot more genuine and therefore more entertaining/exciting.
Congratulations on a job well done. Keep it up, Andre. (innuendo intended)
Gretorp is fucking awesome I learned a lot of my brood war terran from him. He's a pretty good amount for the community during the bw days as well being one of the few people streaming when livestream and stuff was just becoming big. He has a decent number of articles on the bw strat section and overall is a pretty cool guy.
I also think his analysis is pretty sound and even in bw he opened my eyes to things I would never see.
Fuck the haters Gretorp you're a shining member of the community!
I have to leave a note here just to say that a few days ago when you showed love to the community at the end of broadcasting NASL... that was pure class, Gretorp. I don't really know what to say besides I was just so impressed by that gesture. You are the man, gl on the rest of the season and onward.
Please stay strong in the face of the harshness of the internet's, my friend. Criticism is always so drastically magnified... I can't imagine what it would be like to be scrutinized to that degree.
You do a great job. Realize the critics will always be amplified and the support will seem muted. GLHF man.
You're doing an excellent job Gretorp. You seem to improve everyday both with your speaking and analyzing. Ignore the hate, most of it is not even true criticism, and anyone can see that you have improved and will continue to get better simply with time.
Just keep being yourself dude. Last night was great because you seemed like you weren't holding anything back. Goodluck with the NASL and GLHF as a pro player :D.

As a treat for you guys, here's what my mom wrote to me after the first day of casting :-) The NASL cast cracked up after seeing this., I notated with [brackets]
"We watched yr cast with pride, of course, and at rotary yesterday, we reminded folks about yr debu..Glynis and Chris [Edit out name] follow you...and they were especially interested
I think your cast is really getting better n of course, looks like you r much more confident about casting..
I thot of sending the shirts I bot u, guess u gonna have to come here n pick them up...
The internet dont do justice on yr face..but, people say, one has to be quite slim to show a slim cut (in yr case, face) cos, thats what is seen... Greg looks really big...but, I am sure he is not [She's talking about Geoff lol]
Your face looks really round now, & it may be due to the resolution or some thing, but, I hope you notice that too. You must have put on some weight, cos, I cannot see your jawline so much now...haha...please exercise or else, u will get rounder without realizing it..and in our predicament....we work really hard now. I lost 17 lbs...I feel great...
Your goal weight for yr height , I think you look best when you went to Malaysia...at 160-170?
Dad stabilized at 180-182 lbs...we work really hard too. He has a good six/eight pack [He used to be a gymnast :O]
At rotary, a dietitian spoke yesterday. She said to take multi vitamins, cos, if you dont have red meat in yr diet, you may become anemic, cos, we need iron, and tho there is a lot of iron in vegetable, it is harder to break down...So, please take care of yrself...
Please dont take those muscle building pills cos, I dont think Greg looks good looking so big, and I can tell he probably pumps iron and take those pills..
Anyway, I am just a worried mom, and I want all to go well with you. I pray you will do so , and of course, you will...
I love u, and dad too.

Basically, couple sentences => gj in cast. Paragraph => you fat gretorp. The family isn't, but you are! T_T
If you read this mom and dad, I love you guys very much and Sean and Brandon too. Thanks for supporting me as I know you guys have no clue what's ahead of me. Thanks everyone else for supporting me as well. Been a really tough beginning but I persevere.

hehe sounds like my mom. keep up the great improvement gretorp!
I just got high and watched you and Inc cast Boxer vs Zenio g3. It was the most fun I've had in a while, and your hilarious casting sure did it's part. Just wanted to come by here and say how great of a job you're now doing, the anxiousness from week 1 (when I last tuned in) has definitely gone.
I tip my hat to you sir Hengchua, and wish you the best of luck as a player and caster.

Really sick observing in the NASL, it has been just ridiculous. I realize how perfectly you switch between full screen in battles. It is like as soon as the battle is done, I just realize that it was full screen. All I can say is that I really appreciate your work, thanks.

GRETORP HWAITING!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOGO GRETORP AT MLG everybody better watch out, gretorp gonna lay the smack down with some building armor and increased bunker capacity, ahh fuck it, just click all the buttons on the Engineering-bay.
Gretorp, you just sang part of the Reading Rainbow theme song from memory on NASL. My PBS childhood just came flooding back. You just made a fan out of me.
I liked Gretorp at the NASL finals. In the group stage, his cast was sometimes a bit sloppy for my taste, but considering the amount of work he was able to do, one can feel nothing but admiration. How can a single man do so much for the community?
One of my favorite players/casters in the scene. It's terrible that people just spew some hate on him and don't realize that he is a great player and a very hard-working caster. Gretooooorp goooo!!
A fun drinking game: While you watch NASL, take a drink every time he says "bearing down" or "bearing down on his opponent" You will be wasted before the night is through!
keep up the good work Gretorp, but please change up your vocabulary sometimes :D
Gretorp has an extremely intelligent approach of the game and is a very good strategy analyst. I recommend his stream to anyone who's willing to improve (especially to high-ish master people), even if you aren't terran ~!
I just recently watched some of his stream and I love his analysis. He understands it extremely well and can articulate his ideas in a way that everyone understands. Does he still coach?
I dont understand why more people dont give praise to Gretorp he is such a chill caster. And has a nice sence of humor, would definately like to see more tounraments casted with him + someone else that fits his style. He was casting with Catz in the NASL and that was a pretty good match.
Anyway im a fan of his casting havent seen too much of his play unfortunately.

Because he used to kinda suck.
He seems to have become a lot better now, a lot more chilled, more humerous, and I discovered he's actually great at observing.
It's not too surprising that early in the thread there were people who were not to keen on Gretorp. I was one of them. In early NASL honestly I thought he was pretty terrible, but he's developed and grown on me as well, definitely a lot better than he used to be, and I would consider him better than a lot of other casters out there.
He's a guy who needs a second chance, because I think quite possibly a lot of people kind of wrote him off because his early casts in NASL/etc were not anywhere near as good/enjoyable as he is to watch now.
mad props off racing vs alive. there were points where u had him too. much more well played than i expected. wish more casters would show off their play. most players are to scared to play a korean like that, let alone off race. u won a new fan.
